Bury Me And Fade To Black -MCR Love Story-
Chapter 18 : Party In A Forest
Whoops, I lied. THIS is the second to last chapter. Ha, I feel like I'm dragging it out. Anyways, message, rate, everything. Let me know! :)
"MIKEY!!!" I shouted. Every time we called out his name and no response followed, I got more and more anxious. Where is he?!
"MICHAEL!" I screamed into the plants, and nothing happened no reply.
"I AM A MAN, THIS IS WHAT I AM, SO COME DANCE WITH ME, MICHAEL!!!" Bob sang loudly, and I laughed a high-pitched, nervous laugh.
"We're not gonna find him." I said sadly, and sat on a fallen log that looked very comfortable to me at the time.
"We'll find him. He couldn't go far. I mean... he's Mikey." Bob reasoned, and I nodded, melancholy.
"I guess so." I looked down at my shoes. Bob sat down next to me, looking off into the forest. We sat there in silence for a few minutes, hearing the sounds of birds and other animals around us.
"Are you still mad at me?" I asked softly, and Bob's head whipped around to look at me, startled by the noise after minutes of silence.
"Uh... I guess I am, yep." He nodded, and I did as well, looked back at my shoes, unable to look him in the eye.
"Okay, then." I gulped.
"Listen, Helena, I'm--"
"Sorry." I tried to finish the sentence for him.
"Tired?" He laughed. I nodded, blushing.
"Right. Right. I'M sorry." I looked back at him, and he seemed to be considering this.
"I know you're sorry."
"Well, we WERE drunk, Bob." I tried to explain, and Bob just sighed.
"Helena, you don't know what it was like..." He looked at me, and we sat there, in utter silence (not even the birds were chirping) until I got the nerve to say something.
"It must've been horrible." I looked away, trying to keep the shame out of my voice.
"Oh, believe me, it was." He laughed.
"Well, I forgot that, unfortunately." I joked, and Bob brushed some blonde hair out of his face, smiling.
"Well... if it makes you feel any better, I'm, uh... homeless. It's the main reason why Frank and Ray smuggled me on your tour bus a week ago." I grinned at him, and Bob sat there, stunned.
"You? Homeless?" He laughed, but I wasn't laughing along.
"Yep. They wouldn't let me keep my job at Funworld... so... uh... I couldn't pay my bills." I shrugged, and Bob stared at me.
"Oh... no one told me about that." Bob looked slightly embarrassed.
"Considering the previous events, I thought you wouldn't care anyways..." I said, and that familiar feeling surrounded me. The lump in my throat, eyes beginning to sting. Am I crying?
"Aw, jeez." Bob rubbed his eyes, and I felt the tears creep out of my eyes.
"Don't cry..." He muttered through his hands, and I willed myself not to. My will didn't help. Bob sighed, and hugged me. I smelled toothpaste again. I shoved him, and he landed on his back on the mossy ground.
"How does THAT feel?!" I exclaimed through tears, and he stood up, brushing himself off and sitting back down.
"Helena, calm down."
"I just realized how HORRIBLE you've been to me recently." I fumed.
"What are you talking about?! You slept with my friend!" Bob argued loudly.
"Bob, I was TOTALLY taken advantage of! You saw Gerard and I that night. Think about it! I had more alcohol than he did, and he could handle it better, being an ex-alcoholic and all. How about the fact that he remembered what happened and I didn't?!" I retorted, and Bob looked a little stricken.
"You still had sex with him!" Bob said, his voice elevating to a shout.
"Well, yeah, but not of my own free will!" I shouted back, feeling very much about Bob the way I did when we first met. Hatred.
"STILL!!!"
"Then you kick me out when I've got nowhere to go. And how do you do it? With a HUG! A HUG, Bob!" I screamed, almost deliriously.
"I didn't know you had nowhere to go."
"Well, you didn't care to ask." I crossed my arms.
"Wait.... wait..... remember how it was when Melanie was making out with me that one day? Huh? And how you ran to the hospital to consult 'Guru Mikey'? Were YOU angry at me?" Bob raised his eyebrows.
"Well... uhhh..." I searched for an answer.
"You weren't wasted." I pointed out.
"You weren't threatened." Bob replied coldly, and I froze.
"Threatened?!" I repeated, as if I didn't understand what he meant.
"Yeah, threatened. You know, blackmailed, all that." He said, looking at me with a little bit of shame.
"How did she threaten you?" I almost laughed.
"Well, she first threatened to burn my drumset, and like a fool I told her that I could always buy a new one. Then she threatened to convince Gerard to replace Mikey with that Fredrick asshole..." He sniffled.
"Aww." I hugged him, and Bob winced, waiting for me to shove him off the log. I didn't.
"And you acted the way I did. You were angry at me, weren't you? Let me recall... 'Fat, Ugly Pig'. Hm. I'm sure you would've kicked me out if you could've." He said with a twinge of sadness.
"...Yeah... I see what you mean. Well, if it makes you feel any better I don't think you're a fat, ugly pig." I smiled at him.
"And you're not a whore." He smiled. I smiled back.
"Thanks, Bob." I murmured.
"I love you." He stated suddenly, eyes wide.
"Love you... too?" I laughed.
"No, not the way you and Mikey love each other." Bob shook his head, and I frowned at him.
"What d'you mean?" I asked, my head tilted to the side slightly.
"I mean, I REALLY love you. A lot." He explained, sounding a bit childish.
"...Okay... I love you, too." I insisted, which only made him stand up from the rotten log and pace about.
"Well, that's the thing, Helena. You love me. And I'm pretty sure I love you too, but..."
"But...?" I egged him on, laughing quietly.
"But you probably shouldn't. I mean, you should be falling for Mikey, not me. Mikey's never hurt you. Mikey's never called you a whore."
"Sure, but he THOUGHT I was when I first knew him."
"Yeah, but --like you said before-- first judgements suck. Even AFTER first judgements, I still called you a whore." Bob reasoned.
"So? What are you saying? That I should hook up with Mikey? No, thanks, Bob. You know we're just friends."
"And that's your problem!"
"Listen, Bob. I love Mikey, he's my best buddy, my emo cuddle bear..." Bob smiled at this hopefully.
"BUT... I don't love him like you and I are currently discussing. I'm sorry, I think you'll have to suck it up. I'm in love with you. Get used to it." I couldn't say anything else, because it's almost impossible to talk while kissing someone.
