Wolf's Rane(A werewolf/vampire love story)Ch.13

I was dreaming. I was in a happy place.. and suddenly I was awoken by some thing flicking the side of my head. I jolted upright in my seat and looked around for the source of annoyance. The movie wasn't even half over. I was sitting on the end of the couch with Heather right next to me. She insisted that us girls needed to sit together. *gag* Really she just wanted to sit next to Kaden and keep me away from him. Next to her was Kaden who was glaring at me from behind Heathers head. He had his arm behind her in order to flick me and wake me up. I glared back at him. He mouthed and really lightly whispered "If I have to suffer through this so do you."
I stuck my tongue out at him and turned away. Heather finally noticed the way Kaden was sitting with his arm almost around her and a huge smile just exploded across her face. As soon as Kaden realized what it looked like he was trying to do he immediately withdrew his arm and folded them across his chest.
I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing hysterically.
I looked past Kaden to see Sam sitting on the other end of the couch holding his hand to his heart and looking as mushy as ever. He had this expression on his face that was a mixture of happiness and being on the verge of crying. I had to escape.
I slowly slid down the couch all snake like. I kept my eyes locked on everyone else in hopes that no one would notice. Once I was on the floor I slowly moved myself to the side of the couch... and then when I was out of sight I crawled quickly towards the exit. A few more steps and I was free. As soon as I entered the main entrance room I stood up and broke off into a run, looking behind me to make sure no one noticed I was gone yet. I smiled when I saw no one following me. Suddenly I ran right into something hard. I was startled so I let out a loud girlie "Eeep" sound and jumped back. It was a guy and in my panic I didn't look at his face at first. He clasped a hand over my mouth. I could hear him laughing. I looked up at Kaden with shock. He removed his hand from my mouth and shushed at me.
"How... you.. ??" I said looking back into the living room to see only two heads on the couch.
"Those two saps are so into the movie they didn't even notice me just get up and walk out." Kaden said, pointing into the living room.
"So I did all that work for nothing." I sighed.
"Kept me more entertained than the movie so it wasn't all for nothing." Kaden grinned down at me.
"Your welcome." I said and punched him lightly on the shoulder.
"So are you hungry?" Kaden asked, glancing at the kitchen.
"No but I am really thirsty." I grabbed Kaden's hand and dragged him to the kitchen with me.
I grabbed a soda from the fridge and sat down at the kitchen table. Kaden grabbed a soda from the fridge also and sat down across from me.
"So how are you feeling?" I asked, running my finger around the top of my soda can.
"Um.. fine?" He looked at me questioningly.
"I mean your not having any cravings are you?" I asked.
"Oh. No. I should be fine for a while." He said looking down at his soda can.
We sat there in silence. Both of us were deep in thought. After several minutes one thought that kept pricking at my mind came out of my mouth.
"Whats Delilah like?" I asked in a hushed tone as if I almost didn't want him to hear me.
Kaden's eyes bolted up at me and I almost expected him to be angry that I asked but his expression was soft.
"Shes nice." He said quickly.
"Who is she exactly?" I asked.
Kaden shifted in his seat.
"Shes... " Kaden scratched the back of his head and sat up straight. "Its complicated."
"Oh..."
"Lets talk about something else." Kaden said. I could tell he was getting uncomfortable talking about it.
"While shes here.. I'm not going to pretend I'm just some dumb dog." I said sternly.
Kaden glared at me from across the table.
"Yes, you will be." Kaden said standing from his seat and staring down at me.
"I don't have to do what you tell me to do." I knew I was sounding childish but I wasn't going to let this stupid blood sucking leach boss me around.
"Yes you do. Don't forget your place in this house." He said walking towards me.
I stood from my seat and scowled up at him.
"You think your so high and mighty Kaden but your just some spoiled little brat that throws a fit when he cant get what he wants!!" I shouted at him.
I turned to leave but Kaden grabbed my arm and spun me around to face him. He pushed me backwards until I hit the wall and pinned me to it.
"Your kind are always so stubborn. Its no wonder they all died out." Kaden hissed at me.
I couldn't believe he was saying these things.
"Yeah well its mostly because your kind are a bunch of murderous power hungry bastards!!" I yelled at him and tried to struggle free. He had both of his hands on each of my shoulders pushing me against the wall.
"Your calling us the murderers? You don't know anything Rane. Your kind are all mentally deranged."
Before I could control my actions I slapped him hard across the face. Tears were welding up in my eyes and started streaming down my face.
"I hate you." I whispered.
He looked even more angry now. This time I was actually afraid of him.
"If my father didn't have such a strong attachment to you Id kill you myself." Kaden said with venom dripping from his words.
"Are you guys ok?" I heard a gay voice say from the door way.
Neither me nor Kaden turned to look. We both kept our eyes locked angrily on each other.
"Your a monster Kaden. I don't know what happened to you but your not the same anymore." I said and pushed him away from me. I walked past him and pushed through Sam and Heather who were both standing in the door way watching us with wide eyes.

I sat in front of my window staring out at the moon. I felt so cold inside. I hated Kaden. He was such a jerk.
I didn't even move or say anything as I heard a knock at my door. I just ignored it. I didn't want to talk to anyone right now but I had a feeling that whoever it was wasn't going to take the hint.
They opened the door.
"Rane?" I heard Sam's voice ask.
"I'm over here." I said without taking my eyes off the moon.
"Rane are you ok?" He asked as he sat down next to me on the windowsill.
"I'm fine." I lied.
"Rane your lying. You know Kaden didn't mean what he said." He said trying to comfort me.
"Yes he did." I said.
There was a few moments of silence.
"I know your just trying to help but I really just want to be alone right now. Thank you though." I said and gave him a weak smile.
Sam gave me an equally weak smile and kissed me on the cheek.
"If you need anything I'll be in my room. Don't hesitate to ask." He said.
I nodded and he left. I went back to just staring out at the moon. Didn't take but 10 minutes before someone was knocking on my door again. I figured it was just Sam again.
"What?" I asked getting slightly annoying.
"Rane its me." I heard Kaden's voice say.
"Go away."
He walked in anyways and closed the door gently behind him. He came in and sat down on the windowsill next to me.
"I want to apologize." He said.
"Don't bother."
"Rane please just hear me out." He pleaded.
I sighed and turned towards him to give him my full attention.
"I'm sorry. I really am. I didn't mean what I said. I was just.. I've been stressed. But thats no excuse. Can I make it up to you by letting you be whatever you want when Delilah gets here?" He asked staring me directly in the eyes.
I looked away and thought about it for a moment. He must have been really sorry if hes going to let me be human with his little girl friend here.
I nodded in agreement.
"Good. Now get some sleep." He said and ruffled my hair before leaving the room.
