Linda's P.O.V.
Riding back to the mansion in shotgun with Rusty driving and Danny layed out in the back seat, I wiped away my remaining tears.
The scene after Rusty had hit Danny was the saddest thing I had ever seen in my life. It broke my heart.
"Please don't make me do this, Danny!" Rusty had screamed at Daniel while pinning him on the desert floor. Then I turned away and cried as Rusty struck Danny in the head with the gun.
But it was when I turned back around. That was when I saw the saddest thing I had ever seen.
After Rusty had knocked Danny out, Rusty had stood up, walked a few feet, and then collapsed in tears.
"I can't believe I did that to you, Danny.." he had whispered to himself.
After me pulled himself together, Rusty placed Danny in the backseat of his car and we drove off.
That was a sight I would, sadly, never forget.
We drove back into Vegas in silence. Finally, I spoke.
"Rusty, you had to do it."
Rusty's voice was filled with guilt and sadness. "I never wanted to hit him...."
"But you had to. To where we could take him home. He left you no choice."
"He could be dead right now and we wouldn't know it. That blow to the head could've killed him, and it would've been my fault."
Wow, Rusty was really a good friend to Daniel.
I spoke quietly. "You saved his life."

Rusty's P.O.V.
Silently, we drove back to the mansion and told Saul everything that had happened. I carried Daniel back to his bedroom and layed him down on the bed. He was still breathing and I sighed and then smiled.
Good. It only knocked him out.
Linda, Saul and I sat by his bed all night, discussing what we should do, and if Danny should be included.

Danny's P.O.V.

Finally, the darkness had started to fade away. It faded more and more until I saw my bedroom, light coming in from the windows, and three people surrounding my bed. Rusty, Saul, and Linda.
When my eyes were completely opened I noticed they were all smiling and staring at me. In complete silence, I cluched my head. It hurt worse than any headache I had ever had.
How had it gotten like that? Why was everyone gathered around me? What happened last night?
Oh yeah.
I winced as my head throbbed again.

"I'm sorry, Danny" Rusty said as I winced.

I turned around and faced the wall that way I wouldn't have to look at their sad faces.
"Danny, I'm sorry. This is all my fault," Linda said, about to break down in tears. "I shouldn't have said anything to you last night." Rusty whispered something in her ear, but for once, I couldn't hear it.
"Daniel, last night was....was....was very close." Saul looked down at the floor.
Iturned back around andstared at them, not daring to say a word.

Rusty looked over at Saul and Linda, and then they nodded. Then he looked me straight in the eyes.

What was going on here?

"Danny," Rusty said in a serious tone. "We were all talking last night, and we came to a decision. One that's best for you."

I kept the stare, expecting the worst.

"We're going to get revenge for you. Us and the other guys.....but Daniel....we want you out of this. It's too dangerous for you."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This was the second time they'd kicked me out of a job. Not this time, Rusty.
I glared at him. "Nothing happened last night. I can do it. I'll be fine."
Rusty sighed. "We're just doing this because we care about you. Please understand."
"Nothing happened."
"Danny, if me and Linda hadn't of gotten there in time..."
"I can do it."
Rusty raised his voice a little. Not to a shouting point, anyway. "And then Linda told me about how you almost pulled the trigger on Banks. What if you had?"
"But I didn't."
Rusty calmed down. "Look, you have to understand. If you go through with this, either you, or someone else, could get hurt or killed. Don't worry, we'll carry it out and get your money back. After this, we can pretend like it all never happened."
Rusty got up and left the room, and Saul followed him.
I stared at Linda. "I can't believe you guys would do this to me. It's not revenge unless I'm part of it."
Linda stood up and headed towards the door. "We just thought it would be best for you. Please try and understand, Danny."
"Oh, you're just agreeing with whatever Rusty tells you."
She froze, then turned around and looked at me with anger in her eyes. "Excuse me?"
"You know you love Rusty and are going with anything he says. You have no opinion of you're own."
"Ocean, I do so have my own opinion, even if it did happen to be the same as Rusty's. We're just friends, you hear me?"
"Whatever makes you feel better, kid." I said, rolling over to face the wall.
"Dangit, Ocean, I'm tired of you being such a jerk to me. I haven't done a thing to you. In fact, if it wasn't for me, you'd all be in jail right now."
I turned back around. "I'm sorry, Linda. I don't mean to be like this. I'm just angry. Do you know how bad I wanted to do this? And now I'm not even a part of it."
"You're suicidal, Danny."
"That was the first time I'd ever thought of it." What a lie.

"Daniel, I just care about you- a lot- and I want you to be okay."
"Aw, how sweet. I love you, too." I said it jokingly, but boy did I mean it.
We both laughed and then she got up and left, leaving me all alone.

Rusty's P.O.V.

I was eavesdropping on their conversation, and it boiled my blood.
I love you, too.
He had said as if he was joking, but I knew he meant it. Linda walked out of the room and almost bumped into me. I put my hand on her arm.
"Hey what were you two talking about?" I asked, playing dumb.
"He was just argueing about being...y'know....out."
"Ok, whatever."
We both walked our seperate paths, not looking back.

Linda's P.O.V.

Ever sense Daniel had moved in, Rusty had been glued to me and was just acting....different.
Of course I knew why, I wasn't born yesterday.
But did Rusty see Daniel as a threat? Surely not. Many men would, I'm sure, but Rusty? Well, maybe. I wasn't sure which one I liked more, probably Rusty at this point, but I didn't love either one. But it was obvious that they both loved me.
Saul tapped me on the sholder. "Linda?"
"Yeah?"
"Meet me and Rusty in my room, we need to gather some people up."
