I woke up the and reached out for Josie to make sure she was there.

She was. I just wanted to forget what happened two weeks ago.

I put my hand on her belly and looked at the clock.

Time for school. I woke her up and we got ready. As we were getting ready she dropped the hair brush. She bent over to pick it up but she couldn’t get it. Her belly was in the way and I laughed.

“Are you laughing?” she asked

“Uhh… no?” I said.

She laughed “Well you better come help me because I don’t want to pop.”

I picked up the brush. “Well that would be kind of messy” I said. We both laughed.

When we got to school I felt like everyone was talking about me, or Josie.

HER:

I went to first period and when Beth walked in she looked angry.

She walked straight over to Stacy

“Bitch! I know you’ve been starting those rumors!”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about” she said very snooty like.

“Don’t even try to deny it! I’ll kick your ass! Let’s go!” she yelled

That was my queue to get up and drag her outside.

“What’s wrong??” I asked “You’re so lucky the teacher isn’t her, what was all that about?”

“She’s been starting rumors about you!”

“What?” I asked “Like what?”

“Like that kurly isn’t the dad and he just felt bad for you.” She said “And that’s not even the sickest one.”

I walked inside

“What the hell is your problem??” I yelled

“What is this?” she said “Attack of the losers?”

“You’re just jealous that he picked me and no one wants your sorry ass!”

“As if” she said

“Get a fucking life and leave me alone.” I sat down and the teacher walked in

Perfect timing.

“Yeah right. He doesn’t even want you.” She said walking over to me

“What makes you say that?” I asked bitterly

“I saw him kissing that girl yesterday.” She said like a snob.

“Girls, settle down” the teacher said

“Don’t stick your big nose in what isn’t any of your business!” I yelled

“Girls!”

“Is too my business!” she replied “He loves me!”

“What the hell are you talking about??” I yelled

“GIRLS!”

“He wants me and you know it!”

“Get a fucking clue!” I yelled

“THAT’S IT! DEANS OFFICE!”

“She started it!” I Yelled

“Both of you, let’s go”

The bell rang. It was an early day and we were only in class twenty minutes.

I walked over to meet kurly and Stacy followed me.

I got to kurly and gave him a hug. Of course I didn’t believe a thing Stacy said.

“Tell her you love me!” Stacy yelled at kurly

He looked over at her “No Way!”

“Just ignore her” I told him

“What’s wrong with her??” he asked me

“She’s crazy.” I said to him

We laughed.

“Tell her!” she said running in front of us. Then she tripped me and I fell forward.

She grabbed Kurly’s shirt and he shoved her to the ground. Then he rushed to pick me up

“Are you okay??” she asked with a scared look on his face.

“Don’t worry, I’m fine” I said

“What about the baby??” he asked

“I’m fine” I assured him.

“What are you doing?” Stacy yelled “You’re not supposed to touch girls!”

He got right in her face like if he was going to kiss her “Never put my baby In danger again or I swear to you I will make you regret the day you were born”

Her face turned white he put his arm around me and we walked away.

HIM:

“That really scared me, are you sure you’re ok?” I asked

“I’m fine, it wasn’t a bad fall” she assured me

“Still, I’d feel better if you got checked out” I said

“Ok.” She agreed.

I spent the rest of the day hoping the baby was ok. When I got to sixth period I sat down.

Alice walked in and sat down. She passed me a note

Im really sorry about the other day, I don’t know what was wrong with me.i hope you’ll forgive me.

The bell rang. I rushed out of class. I saw Josie talking to Ryan. She laughed and he touched her hand. So much anger rushed inside me, I don’t know why but I wanted to kill him. I grabbed her and pulled her with me.

“Is the baby really mine?” I asked madly.

“Of course it is!” she answered.

Then I realized how stupid I was being.

“I’m sorry...” I said “I don’t know what got into me…”

“Its okay” she said “Just, calm down”

“Let’s go home” I said.

She smiled. “I’m so ready”

HER:

Usually on walks, the baby kicks the crap out of me.

I was scared to tell Kurly that he hadn’t kicked at all since I fell this morning.

It was probably nothing.

“What’s wrong?” he asked

I had to tell him.

“The baby hasn’t kicked…” I said

“What??” he said very scared. He put his hand to my stomach and we stopped walking.

He bent down keeping his hands on my stomach.

“Stop worrying your mom and me” he said “Kick for your daddy”

‘Thump’

“oh my god!” I said “it kicked!”

“Wow…” he said “It worked…”

His face started glowing. He had a huge smile.

I gave him a hug

We got home at the home time as his mom

“Hey kids” she said with a smile

“Mom, Josie fell today, I wanna take her to the doctor to make sure everything is fine”

“Of course! Ill drive you”

We got to the doctors office and when it was my turn we all went in

“I fell” I said “I feel fine, but I just want to check things out”

“Josie, you should really be more careful” he said as he put the gooey stuff on my belly.

“It’s not her fault” Kurly said “some girl tripped her”

“What kind of person would do that??” his mom said in shock then a fuzzy picture appeared.

“Ah, there it is” the doc said

“Everything okay?” I asked

“Well…” he said “How do you feel about twins?”

“What??” we all said in shock

“Two!!??” I added

The doctor started laughing “I’m just kidding.” He said “It’s a joke I like to play on first time parents”

I laughed, Kurly sighed.

“I was gonna say triplets but I figured Ryan would have a heart attack, and you’re the patient here”

I laughed even more.

“Well, everything is fine, just be more careful and stay away from crazy people”

“I told you she was crazy…” I joked, kurly laughed.

We got home and I sat down on our bed and turned on the TV. “Can you believe I still have four months to go??” I complained.

“Did you know you’re getting more and more beautiful each day??” he said

“Does that mean you’re gonna think I’m butt ugly after I pop??”

“Of course not!” he laughed and walked over and gave me a kiss.

“Sure.”

SATURDAY:

I woke up to a loud roar.

Kurly was already up and mowing the lawn. He does it all the time.

I went downstairs. Kurly’s mom was in the kitchen.

“Hey honey, how are you feeling?”

“I always have to pee…” I said with a smile.

“I remember when I was pregnant with Ryan” she smiled “I was so excited at first, then by the end I just wanted him out of me”

I laughed.

“He was mine and his fathers pride and joy. You know, I hope you guys make it. Ryan’s father and I didn’t… but you both are strong. “

“This was so unplanned…” I said “I was nowhere near ready...”

“You have your whole life ahead of you..” she said

“What do you think Ryan would say about adoption?” I asked

“No way, never, he loves that baby way too much”
