I thought I could live in your arms [Mayday Parade]
Chapter 5 : I thought I could live in your arms [Mayday Parade] 05
"What the hell is this?" a voice boomed, causing Brooks and I to wake up. "If you're going to steal my best friend, at least hide it."
I sat up, stretching. "Are you serious, Alex? What is there to hide?" I asked, eying him.
"Come on. You guys are fucking," he said, crossing his arms.
"Oh my god! I met him yesterday. You really think we're having sex?" I laughed, standing now.
"Well. Why else would you guys be passed out in the same bed at 4pm?"
Brooks was now sitting up on my bed. "We were tired?" he questioned, more than stated.
I shook my head. "Big deal. Two people are tired. He fell asleep on my bed while I was doing my hair. I didn't want to bother him and I was tired, so I collapsed next to him. Deal with it."
"Whatever, kid. I don't care," Alex stated, walking out of my room.
I sighed. "We're just friends!" I called after him, sitting back down.
"He wasn't being serious," Brooks said to me, smiling.
I nodded. "I know, I just like to give him a hard time when he gives me one." I lay back on my bed, snuggling up to my blanket.
"Well, I guess I better go now. It was nice chilling with you today," Brooks said, standing from my bed and exiting my room.
I let out a heavy breath. I met this boy yesterday and I already feel like I've known him for years. How does that work? I rolled over and tucked my arm underneath my pillow. I knew I'd be up all night, but I went back to sleep anyways.
As I had thought, I woke up around 9pm. I yawned and went to the bathroom to finish up my hair. I mixed up the brown dye and started to apply it to my hair when Alex walked to the doorway.
"Mom got you some food. She didn't know what you'd like, but you were sleeping so she got you a taco," he said, leaning against the doorway.
"From where?" I asked, rubbing in the dye.
"Taco Bell, duh," he said, as if I was supposed to know that.
"Well, there are other places that sell tacos. I didn't know."
"Now you do. Derek is here. We're going to watch a movie. Did you want to join us?"
"Is that all you guys ever do?" I asked, throwing the dye bottle away and stepping out of the bathroom.
"Pretty much. That and make music. Try not to be jealous," he was now following me down the hall to the stairs.
"Oh yeah. I'll definitely try. Don't you guys ever party or anything?" We were now down the stairs and in the livingroom where Derek was sitting on the couch.
"Well, yeah, but not that often. Actually, there's a party next week. You want to go?" he asked, lying on the floor.
I sat next to Derek. "I guess so. What movie are we watching?"
Derek spoke up. "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."
"Are you serious?" I asked, sighing. I plopped my feet up onto Derek's lap and leaned back, my hands behind my head.
"What's wrong with this movie?" Alex asked, pressing play on the remote.
"Oh, nothing," I lied, focusing on the screen.
Derek placed his hands on my ankles and sat back, getting comfortable. I tried to pay no attention to the fact that his palms moved slowly up and down my shins, giving me chills.
