Arianna's POV
"Hey Brett." I said as I pushed the doors to Starbucks open.
"Hey Ari! What's up?" He said as he handed me my apron.
"Nothing. Lily was over earlier." I said slipping my head through the hole.
"Really?" He said turning a light shade of pink.
"Yeah she told me you were taking her on some super secret date." I said tying the back and facing him.
"Yeah you know that new restaurant downtown?" He said leaning against the counter.
"No way! That place is supposed to be like really expensive." I said as a pulled my hair into a messy bun.
"Yeah. But don't tell her I want it to be a surprise." He said as someone opened the door and cold wind hit my face.
"I'll take this one." I said as I washed my hands.
"Cool I'm going to go on my lunch break. Do you want anything?"
"Nope." I said giving him a hug and turning towards the counter.
"Hi welcome to Starbucks. What can I get- Oh my God!" I said as I looked at my customer.
"Arianna?" Kevin said taking off his sunglasses.
"What... How? Kevin... Wait what are you doing here?" I stuttered avoiding eye contact with him.
"Buying coffee?" He said with a weird look.
"Oh right. Umso what can I-" I started before I was cut off.
"Kevin how come you always take so long in Starbucks?" Somebody whined opening the door with someone following him.
"Joe I thought I told you to wait in the bus?" Kevin said clearly annoyed.
"Well I was but someone's annoying girlfriend was driving me crazy about how she wanted a hot chocolate and you weren't answering your phone and Nick didn't want to come by himself. Can we just hurry." Joe said send the person behind him a glare.
"Hey my girlfriend is not annoying." The beautiful boy that will forever haunt me snapped.
"Whatever you say Nicky." Joe said in a sing song voice.
Joe looked over at me and his eyes widened as ahuge smile took over his face.
"ARIANNA!!!" He yelled at the top of his lungs.
Nick's head looked over at me immediately as Joe practically pulled me over the counter trying to hug me.
"Hi?" I said as I stood there stiffly in an awkward hug.
"Joe let go of her! I'm having a coffee withdraw." Kevin said crossing his arms.
Joe and Kevin got into a fight about how Joe is always being annoying and how Kevin always gets mad at Joe for stupid reasons. Nick just stood there wide eyed and mouth open slightly. And me, well I just stood there with my head down suddenly having the worst headache of my life and in the most awkward situations of my life.
"Um... Hey Ari." Nick said scratching the back of his head.
"Hey." I said trying to sound like I wasn't freaking out on the inside.
"Nick where are you? It has been like 10 minutes." Another voice said as she opened the door.
"I'm over here Miley." Nick said breaking his gaze from me for the first time.
"Well lets hurry. You guys are going to miss sound check." She said with a smile.
"Um... Yeah right. Arianna can I get a hot chocolate?" Nick said avoiding eye contact.
"Um... Yeah." I said as I grabbed a cup and started to fill it with hot water.
"I'll see you outside Nicky!" Miley said before giving Nick a kiss on the cheek and walking out of the coffee shop.
"So how have you been?" Nick asked turning back to me after Miley left.
"I'm fine." I said softly.
"That's good. Look Ari I know things didn't end well with us but could we like hang out or something... You know catch up?" He asked in a... hopeful tone?
"Um... I-" I started
"Hey Ari! I'm back so how is it coming?" Brett asked as he pushed the door open.
"Oh um... fine I guess." I said as I whipped the already clean counter and handed Nick his hot chocolate.
"Good well I'm going to go in the back. Call if you need anything." He said as he disappeared behind the corner of the shop.
"Who was that?" Nick asked with a hint of anger in his voice?
"Nobody." I said feeling myself smirk.
"Okay. Well can I get your number for when we you know catch up?" He said as he pulled out his iPhone.
I grabbed the phone and put in my number before handing it back to him.
"Thanks... I'll see you around Ari." He said before turning and walking out of Starbucks.
Oh God what did I just do? I let the guy who hurt me back into my life without a fight. This was going to get interesting...
