[Bright Nights] [Chapter One: Forks and My Black 2008 Ford Mustang]
Chapter 10 : [Bright Nights] [Chapter Ten: But I Was Curious On What He Was Curious About!]
Hello. I wanna thank everyone who rates. Seriously, thanks. And see that lovely banner that I love so much? Yeah, it's by Kittiee. I LOVE IT AND YOU. A LOT! Thanks so much. Ten chapters, whoo hoooo.
I began to wake up feeling something strange. My usual dull, just-got-out-of-freaking-bed feeling was gone. It was replaced with something I couldn't really understand why. Happiness.
Why the hell would I be anywhere near happy about waking up in the morning and going to boring school? Seriously, it's just like- "Morning love, sleep well?" Oh. That's why. I giggled girlishly-much to my utter surprise- and flipped sides so I could see him.
"One of the best sleeps I've ever had." I honestly told him.
"I noticed," He said and smiled. "You want to get ready for school?" He asked even though he knew I had to. No choice but to. I could skip school, but even Edward I'm sure wouldn't allow that.
"No." I bluntly told him and snuggled into his chest. He laughed and stroked my hair.
"You have to." He said. "I have to also. I'll be back before you know it." He said and crawled out of bed. Before I could protest, he was gone.
"Fine." I grumbled, crossed my arms, and pouted while I followed suit on getting out of bed. I grabbed some clothes and went into my bathroom with a closed door to do everything. Once I was done I came out and almost screamed. There Edward was, sitting on the end of my bed. I didn't even hear him. "You scared me." I mumbled and threw my dirty clothes in the hamper.
"Sorry," He stood quickly and took three short strides to me. He kissed my lips carefully and then released me. I liked that part a lot. "I do too." He grinned and murmured making me roll my eyes.
"I'd love to be able to read your mind." I told him with a smirk. "That'd be fun as hell."
"Oh I'm sure. Now come on." He said and grabbed my hand and led me down the stairs. "Eat." He commanded as he dragged me into the kitchen. I groaned and slowly walked to my cabinets as he sat in the same seat from last night. I got some cereal and filled the bowl. I sat on the counter and held the bowl in my hands while I ate so I could watch him as well. He gave me a crooked smile which I returned, well a smile with my cheeks puffed out because I had cereal in my mouth. He chuckled and walked to me.
"What?" I asked and cocked my head to the side. He chuckled again and rested his hands on my sides.
"You're too cute." He told me making me blush a lovely shade of red. What was this? Freaking making me blush all the time.
"Yeah, yeah." I said and hopped of the counter and right into him. I did that a lot. He tensed slightly as he caught me and sighed.
"You're also a hazard." He muttered. I groaned and stepped away from him and put my bowl into the sink.
"Tell me about it, I'm a walking disaster. So who's car?" I asked.
"Yours." He reminded me. I grinned and started to play with the keys that were dangling in my hand. We both walked outside and into my car. I started at a speed I liked as Edward flipped through the radio. My Escape The Fate CD was apparently giving him and his classical music mind a headache. "It's really not that bad once you really listen to it."
"I like one song." I told him proudly and quickly looked at him then back at the road.
"What song?" He asked sounding interest. Sadly, I realized he found the classical station.
"Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven." I said and grinned. I knew the name and everything.
"That's a pretty one." He agreed.
"It's my favorite." I said as I stressed out the a. He just shook his head and listened to the classical song filling my car. I was glad when I saw the school parking lot. I hastily pulled into my space and turned off the car and sighed when the music stopped. I got out of the car and so did Edward. My eyes widened when I saw Jessica who defiantly saw us get out of the school together. Damn all the things to hell. I cursed in my head.
"Come on Ebony." Edward said and grabbed my hands. I gulped and looked at our hands and back at Jessica. Her eyes widened and soon she was gone. She ran towards her class. I groaned out loud and looked at Edward. "Just ignore it." He told me. Easy for him to say..
[Lunch]
I sat outside the lunch doors debating the current problem set in my mind. My lunch drama. I had two choices:
1. Sit with my friends and not only be questioned like a criminal but also have the risk of Edward sitting with me and pissing Lawrence completely off and annoying Jessica and possibly depressing Mike.
2. Sit with Edward and his family, piss off Lawrence and have a completely awkward time with a bunch of vampire who I barely know.
Hmm.. my choices seemed dim. I didn't know what to do. I sighed heavily as the doors opened. Edward walked out with furrowed brows. "Ebony?" He looked at me. I innocently looked up at him and smiled. "Your mind is so cloudy right now." He whispered to me frustrated.
"I don't know where to sit.." I told him not even listening to what he said.
"What do you mean?"
"Well I either have a awkward lunch with your family or have an annoying one with my friends. Pick for me." I begged him. He raised a brow and smiled a bit.
"This is your problem?" He asked.
"Yes." I said bluntly making him smile larger.
"We could always sit at an empty table if you like." He suggested.
"Okay!" I cried out happily and marched into the lunch room. Edward grabbed my hand and followed me as I got a Dr.Pepper. The best damn drink on the entire planet. It is. Edward went to go tell him family that he was sitting with me. Apparently, a big mistake on his and my part.
"Hello Ebony." A voice said behind me from the vacant table I was at. I turned around and regretted it.
"Lawrence." I said shortly and gulped. In my mind I was panicking with a tad bit of fear. I didn't want to do this. At least it was a public place. He couldn't exactly do anything. Like kill me for instances.
"You and Cullen going out?" He asked and sat next to me. I scooted away.
"Yeah, we are." I said truthfully. Why would I bother even attempting to lie?
"Figures." He muttered and glared at the wall. I blew out some air and rested my head on one of my hands. "I'm just curious on-"
"Can I help you Lawrence?" Edward said in his cool-like voice making me smile and turn my head to see him. Lawrence narrowed his eyes at Edward and started to grumble.
"No, I was just leaving. See you around Ebony." He winked at me and got up. I looked at Lawrence a little surprised then back at Edward.
"You cut him off." I accused him.
"I didn't want him to finish." Edward said sounding annoyed and sat down across from me so I could see him. I pouted.
"But I was curious on what he was curious about!" I hollered at him.
"It doesn't matter." He dismissed the topic and smiled at me. I suddenly just didn't care anymore. Damn him. We started to talk about random things as I slowly drank my Dr.Pepper. But then he said something that made me confused. "Carlisle invited your father, including you, and my family out to our house for company."
"Can you and your family handle that?" I asked with a raised brow. He nodded his head but looked a little unsure himself. His gaze slowly shifted over to the table where he usually sat. I followed his gaze and saw he was looking at Jasper. "You worried about him?" I asked. Edward looked back at me and smiled sadly.
"Too observant for your own good."
"You were looking right at him." I told him lamely not getting it. He chuckled and shook his head.
"Yes, I am. He has the weakest control out of all of us."
"You don't say." I puckered my lips, bringing them to the side of my face, and looked back at Jasper. He was looking right at me. I smiled and waved at him. He slowly but surely waved back.
SCORE!!!
I screamed in my head making Edward literally laugh loudly. Most people heard it and looked at him in amazement. I looked at him and smiled sheepishly. The bell rang signaling the end of lunch. I stood and Edward was there, grabbing my hand. "English?" He asked with a coy little smile.
"Yep." I nodded my head and that's where we went. Lawrence glared heatedly at us for most of class. Edward ignored it easier then I could, but I still managed. Once school was over I happily ran out and got into my car. I managed to only be talked to by Lawrence today. I was proud.
Edward got into the car. "By the way, it's today." Edward said as I began to pull out.
"What's today?" I said airily in my oblivion.
"You and your father coming over." Edward informed. I slammed on the breaks making a chain reaction of cars stopping behind me. Kate's bumper bumped into mine.
"What?!" I shrieked. Edward didn't respond. He was looking out the back window and side mirror to see if anyone crashed. I growled, well my growl, and began to go forward again as he sighed in his seat and started mumbling things.
"You need better reactions to shock. Slamming on the breaks isn't a healthy one. It's dangerous." He told me.
"I'll remember that next time." I said annoyed.
"Why does it bother you?" He asked.
"I'm not prepared to meet your family!" I yelled exasperated at him. "A warning would be lovely. Now I have to rush at home to look presentable." I told him. Edward chuckled and leaned over to kiss my cheek.
"They won't care, it will be okay."
"Says the vampire." I snipped at him. This is great. Now I need to go get myself ready for my vampire boyfriend who lives in perfection. Lovely, just lovely.
