What Happened to N-Me in Kingdom Hearts... Chapter 5 New Me; Twilight Town

She arrived there quickly. When Shadow started to near the place, she could smell Aerith’s scent. She had finished half of her ice cream, but was taking her time to eat it. Shadow went into the maze room, that sooner or later led to the entrance. She loved these types of rooms, because she could always smell where other people had gone and just easily follow them.

Finally, Shadow made it to the door.

It was open a bit.

Shadow peeked through and saw no one in there, so she went inside. She sniffed the air and quickly found Aerith’s scent. She followed it into a secret passageway into the wall. Shadow was soon to finish her ice cream, when she walked in the next room.

Shadow suddenly noticed that there really were people inside this time. Well, more like person, either way, Shadow stood at the doorway staring.

“Shadow?” Aerith asked surprised.

Shadow nodded slowly, ice cream in mouth, eyes wide, and quite stunned. She quickly ate the last of the ice cream and cleared her throat. “Hi, Aerith.” she said. “Sorry for barging in like that.”

Aerith smiled. “That’s alright. I wasn’t doing anything important, so it’s okay.”

Shadow relaxed a bit.

“What are you doing here?”

“Um… actually, looking for you. I wanted to talk to you, but without everybody else around.”

Aerith looked at her curiously. “And what is this that you would like to talk about?”

Shadow paused. “Err… uh….”

Aerith laughed gently. “How about I start the conversation? First off, who is ‘we’?”

Shadow backtracked. “Oh! Oh. We. When I appeared here, I wasn’t alone. My t-t-three friends and I got here and we were found by Sora and Riku.” Shadow started. “We became part of the gang soon after…. But then, no one told us we weren’t supposed to go inside the castle, so two of my friends, Air and… Ice, went inside to see what was there. Well, we got a visit from the Organization people. Xemnas appeared and took Ice’s heart. She became a Heartless, and before Air could bring her back, Xemnas took her away and hid her.”

Aerith nodded sadly. “A loss, one probably worse than death.” she said.

“A week later, about two days ago, something went very wrong. Sora had a strange accident, causing everybody to disappear. That’s the only reason I’m the only one here.”

“Hmm…. I sure hope you find your friend. I’m sure she’s trying to find you, too.” Aerith sighed. “Now what was it you were going to ask me?”

Shadow smiled, but looked away. “When Yuffie and I found you, you said that Cloud was telling you about me…. What did he say?”

Aerith smiled. “I see….”Aerith giggled. “Well, let me think. Hmmm, well, how do I put this?” Aerith carefully went through her past events. “Cloud’s never said so much about a person as he did you. When he started to describe you, I was surprised at how clear and unhesitant he was. He was very clear on defining you. He said that you were a never ending spark of light. That you were very energetic and a lot of fun.” Aerith laughed. “I learned that soon enough! I can tell that he has a certain feeling for you. He’s not very good on showing it, though, but I have noticed that he talks a lot more around you and with more freedom. You certainly lighten him.”

“YEAH!!” came a hyper voice that was not Shadow’s.

“Yuffie?” Aerith asked as she ran into the room all of a sudden. “How long have you been there?”

Shadow was shocked by the entrance. She hadn’t noticed her scent so close till now.

Yuffie smiled widely. “Uh… a while now!” she answered truthfully.

“How much did you hear?” Shadow asked.

“Hmmm, since the whole lost friend thing.”

Shadow’s eyes widened. “Really?! Dang, that was long!”

Yuffie giggled and smiled widely. “Yeah, but Aerith isn’t the only one Cloud talks to about you.”

Shadow’s eyes widened even further. “Really?!” Her voice got a little squeakier.

Yuffie laughed. “Yeah! He says that you have a lot of energy, but not as much as me! He thinks you have pretty eyes!”

Shadow stood there.

“Oh, he also thinks that you’re a really good fighter! He likes your tactics and how well you handle your sword! He likes it when you’re around, it cheers him up! A lot!”

“Cloud has always had small problems about being happy about things.” Aerith said.

“Why?” Shadow asked.

Aerith sighed. “Things from the past.”

“Ooh.” Shadow smiled to herself.

“Cloud is very happy that you are here!” Yuffie said.

“I-”

Suddenly, Nobodies appeared.

They were girlish-looking bodies. They slugged around, they like they were dancing in some sort of way. The Nobodies were pink with a silver-yellow. The pink on them made it look like a dress on them, so that added more to their dancing forms. They started coming towards them.

Aerith gasped. “Nobodies!” she cried.

“Dancers!” Yuffie corrected. “Don’t worry Aerith, Shadow and I will take care of them! Right?!”

Shadow called her sword. “Right! These suckers shouldn’t take long!” Shadow said.

Yuffie took out her huge ninja star.

The Dancers came at them.

Yuffie and Shadow fought off the dancing bodies. They seemed to be enjoying the fight, but still got hurt a few times.

Aerith healing from the sidelines. She watched quite amazed at Shadow’s amazing fighting. ‘Cloud wasn’t joking about her fighting skills.’ she thought.

Finally, the last Dancer disappeared.

They called off her weapons.

“See, I told you she was a great fighter!” Yuffie boasted.

Aerith nodded approvingly. “And you were right, along with Cloud.”

Shadow smiled proudly. “Thanks!”

“Aerith! Shadow! Yuffie!” Leon yelled, running into the room.

They all turned to him.

“What is it?!” Shadow asked.

“Cid! He’s gotten a really strong reading!”

“Oh! Yay! He’s found them!!” Shadow was getting overfilled with joy.

“Woh! Hold it! It’s not a friend reading. We have a special visitor….”

“Who?”

“An Organization member.”
