Abortion: She was an accident... Chapter 1
Chapter 6 : Abortion: She was an accident... Chapter 5
Rebecca was surprised at how relieved she felt when she set her things down after returning home from being fired. She knew that she would be fired after her strange, ridiculous outburst. In all honesty, she didn't even remember a lot of what she had said. She knew that it must have meant something, or else she wouldn't have been fired. She pushed thoughts of regret for such foolishness aside, reaching for the phone book.
"Kyle, Kyle....what was your last name?" Rebecca thought aloud.
Rembembering suddenly, she flipped through the pages hurriedly, feeling her heart pound louder and louder until she finally found his name, and then she thought her heart must have stopped. She was shaking as she reached for the phone. It was almost as bad as when she had called to give him the news that she didn't want their baby anymore. Rebecca's eyes started to well up at the thought, but she wiped her eyes and began to dial. It felt as though the phone rang a million times, and then a woman's voice answered, "Hello?" Rebecca was shaky, but she mustered up some courage and said,
"Hello, may I please speak to Kyle?"
"Who, may I ask, is calling?"
"Tell him it's Rebecca. He'll remember me."
There was a pause, then a sigh, and the woman said, in a strange tone, "Yes, Kyle told me about you." Rebecca froze. This was a bad sign. Who was this woman, anyway? She licked her dry lips and murmered shakily, "Um...who is this?"
"This is Vera. I'm Kyle's fiance. He told me all about you, and I think you're nothing but trash. There's no way he'd ever want to talk to you again. Stay away from Kyle, you've done enough damage to him!"

Rebecca couldn't believe what she had just heard. She didn't even hang up the phone until she heard the dial tone. It couldn't be. Kyle, getting married? Rebecca almost felt happy for him. Almost. Until she remembered the strange woman's snarky tone, her sudden trash-attack on Rebecca, and then she felt sorry for him. Could it really be that their relationship, and her decision, had made him choose a woman like that? She shuddered, wishing she hadn't been told that it was her body, and no one else's, that she was dealing with when she aborted Judy Marie. Or was it Madeline...
After a few minutes in silence, Rebecca tore Kyle's addresss out of the phone book and grabbed her coat and keys. She had to see him and talk to him, apologize for what she had put him through, even if he was getting married and didn't want to see her.
