Chapter Twenty-Six
Gabriel
The maid was waiting outside with an apology. "I'm sorry, young master. You are normaly gone by this hour."
"It's quite alright. I was just exhausted from last night." I smiled. I saw her apologetic face turn to one of horror and shock. I realized she got the wrong idea. "Dominic went on a rampage last night, rmember?"
"Lord Dominic? Oh, right." I could hear the releif she felt.
"Morgana will be in the shower so you can pick up while she is in ther."
"Will Lady Morgana mind?" She asked innocently.
"No I don't think she will. Thank you." I continued on my way and frowned. Lady Morgana? It sounds familiar. Maybe its from the servants talking about her. In the back of my mind a voice told me that was wrong but I ignored it.
I remembered when she asked me, "Promise?" She sounded so sweet, innocent, childish even, and familiar. Any familiarity was lost when she said, "Good." She is so infuriating sometimes.
I reached my brother's room and knocked. "Come in." His voice called, it sounded weak and sad. He took the whole ordeal pretty hard then.
I entered. "Hello Dominic."
"Brother." He said releieved. His voice got softer, knowing fully well I'll be able to hear him. Then his face changed to sandess. "I'm so sorry brother." His black hair glinted blue in the feeble light.
"No harm done." I smiled. "But you owe me a shirt."
"So I did not hurt her?"
"No. But she got angry when I told her you clawed me."
"Oh?" He sounded hurt.
"Yeah. But only because I wouldn't let her see it." I chuckled. "She chewed me out."
"You have feelings for her?" He asked. I looked away.
"The only feelings I have towards her are feelings a master has for his slave."
"Slave?" He inquired. I just nodded. "I am sorry, brother. I did not know she was yours, and I was... hungry." He sighed. "I waited to long."
"Yeah. And she is type O negative. This was way over your level. Hell, I probably would have done the same thing." I probably would have too. When I first smelled her scent, it was everything I could do not to bite her.
"Well the experiment was a failure." He saidhappily.
"And that's a good thing because...?"
"We know one way that doesn't work." He had a point.
"I suppose."
"Speaking of the matter, how is father?" He moved closer to me.
"Good. I don't see any changes in attitude, appearence, and strength." I shrugged.
"Father is plotting something. I don't know what it is, or who's involved, but I can sense it." He said seriously.
"He's too kind to have anything happen to his sons." I said, though I never put the thought from my mind, when Dominic has a feeling, you listen.
"You're underestimating him."
"Get fixed up. I'll bring Morgana here."
"Right." He nodded.


Chapter Twenty-Seven
Dominic
Brother walked out of the room. I sighed. Why Brother? Why did you make me take a vow of silence? I can see that you are lonelier now than you have ver been. Why did you try to forget the most wonderful thing within your life?
You went out on a job that fateful day, and you almost died for it. The girl you came to love saved your life. They kept you and healed you.
When you came back, everyone was frantic. You assured them you were safe, and they helped you. They received special protection, and you visited them every free day since.
You told me all of the stories that happened to you. You didn't realize it at the time, but I knew, you had fallen in love with that human girl.
And when your time with them ended badly, you wanted to forget everything that happened, before you ripped your heart out to stop the pain.
And even when your memories were gone, they were only fragmented. You didn't forget the subtle things, the small things that made you love her.
You made me promise,before your memories were gone, to never speak of her. But because you did, I cannot elaborate on the things that will one day drive you into madness.
You will never let me speak of the girl named...
