As we ate our breakfast, questions about vampires started popping up in my head. "So...a vampire huh?" I asked. "Is it so hard to beleive?" he asked in return. "Well, I'm just trying to remember all of the folklore I have heard about vampires. You dont seem to mind sunlight..." "I see. much of that folklore is false." "Ah" I replied. "As you have said, I am not harmed by sunlight. That is simply myth. However, I can read minds, which is myth, but also true." "So," I said, "Do wooden stakes through the heart kill vampires?" "No, and neither does garlic." I nodded in response. A butler came up to Logan and wispered something in his ear. Logan suddenly began to look very serious. "Excuse that, my love," said Logan, "um...yes. You may study in the Library if you like. There are books there that tell all there is to know about vampires. Actually I would recomend you go." "Really? I'd love to." I replied. "Well that is lovely. You are free to roam about as you please. Don't forget to ask any of the maids or butlers if you need anything at all. I will join you for lunch. I am very sorry, but I have some duties to attend to, so I will be in my office." "Thank you very much," I said as Logan bowed and gently kissed my hand. The feel of his cold yet soft lips on my skin sent tingles up my spine. Logan then left the dining area, I was blushing like mad.
I decided to go to the kitchen to get a cup of hot tea to take to the library, and to get my mind off of Logan which seemed impossible. I walked across the room and pushed passed two swinging doors. The kitchen was very large. There was a massive island in the middle with pots and pans hanging above it. There were two ovens, two stoves, two dishwashers, a 6ft. regrigerator, plenty of counter space and cabinents, and a table seated for four beside a window overlooking the garden. At this table sat Melathany and another maid conversing while other maids and butlers bustled about the kitchen. As I entered, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me as if waiting for a command. i was starting to feel slightly uncomfortable. "Um... hi..." I said quietly, slightly waving at all the eyes staring at me. Suddenly, Melathany noticed me. "Oh! Hello Miss Blackwater!" she said as she approached, "what can I do for you?" By now everyone had returned to their previous activities. "Oh hi Melathany. I just wanted a cup of hot tea." "Alright, what flavor, miss?" "Um, jasmine please." I replied. "Right away, Miss Blackwater," said Melathany as she began to walk away. "Oh, and Melathany..." "Yes Miss?" "Please call me Evylin." I said politely. I was thinking that perhaps we could be friends. She looked no older than 20 years old. She had brilliant red, curly hair, deep green eyes, and freckles all over her face. Melathany looked slightly shocked at first, but then her features softened and she smiled sweetly. "Alright...Evylin. I will go and get your tea now." "Thank you," I replied. She then curtised and walked over to a tea kettle on one of the stoves with an extra pepp in her step.
I walked over to the table by the window and sat down, admiring the garden. All I could think about was Logan. Whenever I pictured his face, i felt butterflies in my stomach. I was completely lost in thought when Melathany walked up to me. "Heres your tea Miss...er...Evylin..." I slightly jerked out of suprise as she giggled, but then smiled. "Thank you so much Melathany," I said, "I am going to study up on Logan's history in the library. I hope I can learn exactly whats going on here." "Well, I'm sure you will Evylin." I smiled. "Just don't judge too quickly. Somethings may be confusing, but please base your judgements on how you view Sir. Vise." "Alright, I will," I replied. These people must truly love Logan, how fortunate. "Thanks again for the tea Melathany." "Of course Evylin," she said as she curtsied, "Please have a pleasant day." "You too. Bye!"
I then left the kitchen and walked out of the dining room into the main hall. I walked down the left wind, wondering what I was going to find. I approached the library doors and opened them as the air from the room blew in my face. The view of the library was spectacular and I was excited to just be here. "Ok, lets find out whats going on here."
