When the Day [Ryan {002} Ross] Met the Night

Created by xoxprettyxinxpunkxox on Monday, June 09, 2008

The night passed to slow for Ryan's liking, but still he waited patiently, well for the most part.
When morning finally came, both Ryan and Kimi got dressed quickly and rushed to Dairy Queen for their twelve o'clock date.
Kimi had worn a blue tank top with some tigh blue jeans with green converse. When she spotted Ryan, her heart fluttered and her stomach flipped.
When Ryan saw Kimi, the early afternoon sun shone through the glass door and over her face, her eyes were squinting at the harsh light. She waved happily and sat down at the booth across from him.
"hey, Ryan" she smiled, and her smiled back addressing her with the same kindness. They sat for the longest time, just staring at each other's eyes, that is until Kimi's stomach roared with hunger.
"Sorry, I'm hungry I kind of skipped dinner and breakfast." Kimi explained, laughing as she rubbed her stomach.
"Then let's get some food in you before you die of hunger!" Ryan and kimi went to order some food. While they were waiting for their food to come, they spotted Spencer and his girlfriend, Haley, coming in. Kimi buried her face in the menu, not wanting her friend to see her.
It wasn't that she didn't like her friend, it was that she didn't want her interrupting her 'Date' with Ryan. Because well, let's face it, she kind of liked this boy. He was interesting, in a good way, and she wanted to know more about him.
Ryan blushed slightly as Spencer smiled knowingly at him. Somehow Ryan knew that he was going to come here to spy on him and Kimi.
Kimi was blushing so fiercely that she could see her tomato red face in the napkin holder. Haley waved a tiny wave as she walked by Kimi. Kimi then proceeded to turn a deeper red color.
Ryan looked over at her and chuckled lowly in his throat. Kimi's eyes shot to him and she started to giggle too. She didn't know what it was about him that made her so…so curious.
Kimi wasn't always the outgoing and loud person. No she preferred to be quiet, and unnoticed. So how was it that Ryan noticed her…well she guessed it was because she's the one who first talked to him. But what about her made him want to keep talking to her?
Ryan wondered in the tiny corner in the back of his mind why on earth Kimi had walked up to him and talked to him. It was like she wanted to take away all his pain, and cast it in the shadows.
What ever it was Ryan knew that something was changing in him.
A few weeks had passed and they hung out more and more. Kimi had come to know Spencer, Ryan's best friend for practically ever. She had also listened to a Ryan play guitar. And she absolutely loved it.
She cried out in surprise as Ryan pushed the swing to hard and it veered to the right. She jumped off quickly, and landed sharply on her ankle.
"Owwwie!" she whined and laughed at the same time, thinking how stupid she was for doing that. Ryan rushed towards her.
"are you alright?" he smiled and joined in laughing with her as she nodded her head. She tried to stand up, but her ankle made her fall back down. "Aww! I'll help you get back to Spencer's" he helped her up on his back, like a piggy back ride.
"Giddy up horsey!" she laughed, and he started running. Pretty soon they were at Spencer's house.
"Spency!" She cried as he walked in wondering who had just waltzed right into his residence.
"Kimi!" he mocked.
"I hurt my ankle! And Ryan being the gentleman he is, gave me a piggy back ride here. It's just a sprained ankle so I should be fine. Just need it wrapped up" she explained.
Ryan set her down on the couch, and went to go get some Ace bandages, while Spencer got some ice.
Ryan came back and he placed her foot up on his knee. She almost shuddered, as his touch sent tingles up from her toes to the top of her pretty little head.
She didn't want it to stop. She didn't want to tell him. She didn't want him to know that she thought he was the best thing in the world.
Ryan was trying to concentrate on wrapping her ankle, he really was. But he didn't want to make it too tight, or it'll be uncomfortable for her.
"You're not wrapping it tight enough silly," She laughed and placed her hands on his. His heart skipped a beat. She tightened the wrappings on her ankle. Her head was right under his chin, he could smell her shampoo, delicious strawberries.
"see?!" she looked at him, all finished.
"Yeah," he nodded "I didn't want it to be uncomfortable though" he defended, a blush creeping up on his cheeks.
Spencer walked in with some ice. "Took you long enough" Kimi said as she took it from him and placed it on her ankle. Ryan scooted her hand off of it, and he held it on her ankle for a while.
Spencer watched them. To Ryan it looked as if he were plotting something. "Well, I've got to go. You two can stay here as long as you like. I'm going to go met up with Haley." Spencer excused himself.
"Tell her I said hi!" Kimi called after him. It may have been just a trick of the light, but Ryan could have swore her saw a devilish smile on Spence's face.
Kimi and Ryan sat in a comfortable silence for about thirty minutes, that is until Kimi got bored.
"Do you want to go back to the park?" she looked over at him, to find him staring at her. This of course made her blush a little bit.
"yeah, sure" he nodded. He placed her back on his back. "you know I can walk now, it doesn't hurt anymore."
"you still shouldn't walk on it," Ryan said matter-of-factly.
"okay, thank you
Doctor" she said sarcastically.
Ryan smiled to himself at her remark. And Kimi smiled to herself about Ryan being so protective. Sometimes it was annoying, but right now it was sweet. Well most of the time it was sweet.
She rested her head on the back of his head. And slowly her eyelids began to droop shut. She was tired, she hadn't slept last night because her dog had gotten out. And the poor thing was just a little puppy.
Ryan of course had come over to help her catch her dog, Scruffy. And of course they didn't find the little rascal until three o'clock in the morning. She didn't know how Ryan was still awake.
Ryan said Kimi's name, she didn't answer.
"Kimi?" he said again. He shook her a little bit, she stirred and groaned.
"lea' me 'lone" she grumbled. Ryan almost laughed out, but tried not to or it would wake her up. He understood why she was tired, he was quite tired himself. She decided to take a detour to her house.
