Friday Early Evening~5:57Pm~At The Base [Home]-The Lab~~~~~~~

Cloud thought for a few moments on how to reply. “It depends…if she wants to.” He finally said. Marlene giggled. “Well of course she would want to! She loves you doesn’t she?” Kayna nodded, still laughing. “You got that right Marlene!”

Daniel widened his eyes, and just stared at the lab-top. “K-Kayna…” He slowly started. Kayna rubbed her eyes, finally calming down. “W-W-What?” “Come here.” Daniel said in a shocked voice. Kayna stopped and perked, realizing there was something that couldn’t be laughed about.

“She told you?” Cloud asked. Marlene shook her head. “No, I can just tell. Like how I can tell you love her a lot too.” Cloud looked up at Marlene’s smiling face, and smiled back. “Yeah.”

Marlene’s smile got even bigger. “I knew it! You loved Alia for a long time now huh? I never said anything cause…I was kinda…I didn’t wanna say anything unless I was sure you know?” Cloud chuckled. “You remind me of her.” Marlene blinked. “huh?” He just looked back down at your sleeping face and Marlene understood. “You think?” she said sweetly.

She rolled her chair over to Daniel’s desk and stopped right behind his right shoulder. Kayna looked over to the computer screen. “What’s up?” Daniel looked back at her seriously. “This is.” He opened a screen and showed her. Kayna’s eyes widened, and her mouth opened. “What‘s this?!” She cried, though she knew what it meant. Daniel looked down. “I’m afraid that…” Kayna hit Daniel’s right shoulder, making her chair move back a little, and Daniel’s chair face her.

“You’re kidding right? This isn’t right! It can’t be!” Daniel just couldn’t look her in the eyes. Kayna shook her head. “Uh uh. Something must have gone wrong or-” “Kayna.” Daniel interrupted. “It’s happening. It’s at 92.7%.” Kayna’s world just turned completely turned upside down.

She maneuvered herself closer to the table. She put both her hands on her head and elbows touching the table. Kayna stared at the counter, feeling faint. She slowly shook her head. “No…” “You know what’s going to happen now,” Daniel said staring at the screen. “She’ll start to get exhausted very easily, and feel dizzy every once in a while…” Kayna tightened her grip on her head.

Cloud and Marlene walked through the sliding doors, but Daniel and Kayna didn‘t notice. “What are we going to tell Cloud and the others? We still haven’t-” “Shut up!” Kayna yelled.

“What’s going on?” Cloud asked, standing there confused as Marlene was. They could tell something was wrong. Kayna quickly looked up and spun her chair around to face them, as Daniel looked up from the computer and did the same. “U-Uh…” Kayna looked at Daniel for a second then put on a fake smile as she turned back at them.

“What are you going to tell us?” Cloud said narrowing his eyes a little. Kayna got up from her chair and walked towards them. “Nothing-I just need to go to the bathroom.” She quickly said.

Marlene looked worriedly at Daniel, as he sighed and stared at Kayna’s desperate attempt. She hurriedly walked through the exiting doorway with Cloud following her. Marlene stayed where she was, then suddenly looked at Daniel when he said, “In love huh?” He said to himself staring through the sound proof glass out to you. ‘It makes it even sadder…’ he thought.

Kayna stopped as soon as Cloud held her by her arm. She turned around, annoyed. “Hey, Let-” “Something’s happening to Alia isn’t there?” Kayna kept her face firm. “What are you talking about?” She said trying to act clueless. Cloud steadily stared at her, not answering.

She sighed and He let her go. “Listen…I know you really care about Alia and stuff but…” She meekly smiled at him. “Let me and Daniel take care of her too alright? You’re not the only one here that loves her.” She said with a hint of humor.

Cloud slightly smiles. Kayna fully faces him. “Well, I can’t really blame you, you did say that you would protect her right?” His smile slowly fades away, as he looks in an other direction. “No matter how much times I try…Alia always ends up being injured.” Kayna chuckles and puts her hand on his shoulder. “You know what Cloud? It’s ok because…You’re the one who actually heals her up after.”

He looks back at her as she continues. “Trust me…even with me and Daniel putting medication in her so she can heal, It’s nothing compared how you make her feel whenever she’s with you. So you just make sure you never leave her kay?” Kayna encouraged. Cloud’s smiled once again, feeling better on how he looked on things. “You know…You’re not so bad when you’re not perverted.” He said to her playing around.

Kayna laughed as she took her hand off his shoulder. “Ha- Shut up! I’m all over here trying to be serious and that’s what you say to me?” “It’s true.” Cloud said. “Yeah, yeah. I know huh?” Kayna agreed.

Marlene nervously walks up to Daniel and he looks back at her, as if he barely notices that she’s there. “Uhm…Daniel?” “Yeah?” He said.

“I wanna ask you something…” She trailed. He was now standing right behind the glass. “What?” “Alia’s gonna be alright isn’t she?” Daniel nods. “Of course she will.” he said reassuringly. Marlene shakes her head. “No-I mean like…She’ll live for a long time right? She won’t die in a year-in a few months or a few days even?”

Daniel lowers his eyes and looks back at you through the glass. “I’m…not sure about that. I-I’m sorry…” Marlene steps closer to him and shakes her head again. “No! You have to know! You’re Daniel! You should know everything right? Cause you‘re smart…” Marlene could feel herself shaking a bit.

He slowly looks back at her surprised. Marlene looks on the floor then gets even closer to him. She clings onto his shirt like what she does to Cloud. “Promise me you’re gonna help Alia…She made everyone happier since she came here. Including Cloud.” Daniel smiles a little and places his hand on her back while looking down at her.

“I’ll do everything I can. I promise. Though…” She looks up at his smiling face. “I’m not sure if I’m the one that’s going to save her.” He said with a secretive tone. Marlene blinks. “W-What do you mean?” Daniel sighs and pauses. “I think…You’ll find out yourself soon.”

Friday Afternoon~4:17Pm~7th Heaven~~~~~~~~~~

“Finally we get those dead bodies outta here. How long have they’ve been dead anyway? Smells disgusting!” Reno claimed sweeping up the glass. “I don’t know. I wasn’t here when it happened.” Tifa said putting up a table.

“So what did happen to Alia?” Rude asked. “Daniel and Kayna are removing glass outta her body.” Denzel answered while wiping the counter. Reno drew in air through his teeth. “Aww…That probably really hurt.” “No duh.” Tifa said sarcastically.

“God that Alia…I can’t believe she let Jenova get taken away. I mean…whenever she comes back from a fight…she always gets beaten up. It’s pretty sad.” Reno said to no one in particular. Tifa put her hand on her hip and rose an eyebrow. “Excuse me?” Reno waved his hands on front of him. “Did I say that out loud? Sorry…I didn’t mean it-I mean…”

“You do remember what’s happening to her right?” Rude reminded. Reno hung his head then nodded slowly. “Yeah yeah…” Tifa nudged his arm. “Don’t act like it’s not a big deal! Sheesh!” “I know Reno, don’t even try to hide it. You know even you would miss Alia if she ever left.” Denzel pointed out.

Reno laughed while rubbing the back of his head. “Heh…I guess you’re right. I would.” Tifa smiled and rolled her eyes, then continuing on what she was doing. Reno looked at her annoyed. “What? Man- not even shit! I meant it like…as if she was my friend not as if- Gah forget it.” Rude chuckled.

Reno widened his eyes at him. “Rude, even you know that Alia doesn’t belong to me.” He said playfully. “Don’t change the subject now.” Rude said insisting. Reno rolled his eyes himself and looked down at the glass on the floor he was cleaning up.

“Isn’t that stuff in Alia make her weaker and weaker?” Denzel pondered out loud. “If I remember right…yeah.” Rude replied. Denzel shrugged. “Then you can’t really blame her then Reno.” Reno looked up and widened his eyes. “Listen, I get it! Ok!” Tifa laughed. “Fine fine…”

Reno laughed along and puts his hands in his pockets then leans back onto the table’s edge. “Feel bad for her though…Just right when she and Cloud-” He started to pretend to cough. Tifa chuckles and throws the broken shards into a big plastic bag. “I know huh? But…” She pauses and tightens her grip on the plastic. “I’m not trying to talk negative or anything but…when do you think- How long do you suppose…” She can feel her voice shaking a little.

Reno shrugs as he gets back to work. “Meh how should I know? I just kind wonder…I wonder how spiky will take it.” Everyone didn’t want to think about how upset Cloud would be. “But- Kayna and Daniel are making medicine for her aren’t they?” Denzel asked.

The three of them looked at each other slightly. Tifa had already told Reno and Rude what happened when you had your symptoms, how Cloud and Daniel were fighting.

It was true that Kayna and Daniel was helping you, but the real truth was, that the chemicals they needed to heal you was impossible to find. Everybody practically knew already, besides the kids.

Tifa turned towards Denzel. “Uh Hm!” Denzel crosses his arms and raises his eyebrows. “So why are you all acting like there’s no way?” Reno laughed nervously. “Ahhh did it sound that way? Sorry.” Denzel made a buzzing sound in his mouth. “Oh.”

Tifa looked down while she picked up yet another table so she could hide small tears forming in her eyes. ‘Still…there must be a way isn’t there?’

Friday Evening~7:59Pm~At The Base [Home]-The Lab~~~~~~~~~~

Marlene hummed a light tune, while watching Kayna show her a game on the computer she can play until you woke up. “Hey, How come Alia hasn’t waken up yet? It’s almost eight o’ clock and you said she would be awake by six fifteen or whatever.” Marlene said seeing the digital clock turn [8:00Pm].

Kayna laughed slightly. “Well you see…She’s probably exhausted right now, so she’s not sleeping cause of the stunner or the anesthetic, she’s just sleeping cause she’s tired.” Cloud was leaning against the glass, patiently waiting. Daniel was on the computer as usual, studying your new records. Marlene slowly nodded. “Yeah…she must be.”

Kayna turned her chair so she would face Marlene and Cloud. “Hey Marlene…Aren‘t you tired?” Marlene thought for a second. “Kind of, But I wanna stay here a bit longer.” “Are you sure? Tifa called me earlier, she wasn’t sure if it was such a good Idea that you stayed here very late.” Marlene frowns kinda disappointed. “She did?” “Well, how about if we eat a small snack before we take you home?”

“Yeah, ok.” Marlene responded. “Are guys hungry? When was the last time you ate?” Marlene shrugged. “Around twelve. Before Tifa left to go shopping.” Kayna lifted her chin at Cloud. “How bout you?” Cloud slid his gaze to her. “This morning.” Kayna made a funny face and laughed slightly. “I swear, You and Alia are the same. I’m serious.”

Kayna stood up and lightly took Marlene’s hand. “Wanna go downstairs and eat something?” Marlene nodded. She then turned to Cloud. “Ay, you, person. The-man-who’s-standing-beside-the-glass-over-there-and-that-looks-like-he‘s-staring-out-into-bliss. Are you coming?”

“I’m going to stay here.” Cloud replied. Kayna sighed. “Sure. I’ll bring you up a muffin or something. You’re welcome. See how nice I am?” She quickly said with humor. Marlene giggled. They walked towards the door when Daniel suddenly stood up. “I’m going downstairs too. I want some soda.”

Kayna fanned the air. “Even better! Come on! Lets go…downstairs…to eat…some food…Yah hurry up!” She said with exaggerated sarcasm. Even if Marlene was little, she really understood what she was trying to do. “Oh and Cloud?” Kayna said before she left. “You can go into the room if you like. I think She’s stable enough now for you to talk to her.”

Marlene watched Cloud as she followed Kayna and Daniel out of the lab. As the three of them walked down the stairs, Kayna grinned. “Thanks for going along with it Daniel. You’re so awesome sometimes.”

“It’s not a big deal.” He plainly replied. She laughed. “Yes it is! You usually don’t do this kinda thing! What’s the occasion?” Daniel stayed quiet until the three of them entered the kitchen. “I don’t really know.” Daniel said.

Cloud walked into your room and stared down at your pale face. He stood there in silence, just listening to your breathing and the Cardiac monitor’s beeps. ‘beep…beep…beep…beep…beep…’ Cloud widened his eyes, seeing you starting to quiver. “Hey-Alia-” ‘beep, beep, beepbeepbeepbeep...’ He leaned closer to you.

You slowly opened your mouth and took in a big shaking breath. ’beepbeepbeepbeep…’ Cloud held onto your hand then looked towards the sliding doors, wondering if he should call the others. He looked back down at you, as quiet tears ran down your face.

Cloud relaxed, and reached down and wiped your cheeks. “Cloud…” You whispered. He stepped even closer to you while you kept talking. “I’m sorry…” You slowly opened your eyes and tilted your head to the left. “It’s my fault…” He smirked. “What? About Jenova?” You blinked and more tears fell. “You’re mad at me aren’t you?” Cloud shook his head. “That’s stupid. All I care about is that you’re fine.”

You sat up and pulled down the oxygen mask. “I’m getting weaker…I can feel it.” You stared down at your lap. “That’s why this whole entire time…I can’t protect myself. I’m so pathetic.” You said to yourself. Cloud let go of your hand and wrapped both his hands around you. “What’s pathetic is…that I wasn’t there for you when you needed to be protected.”

You bit your lip and held onto Cloud’s arms. “Don’t blame anything onto yourself. It’s not your fault. Nothing is.” He continued. You turned your body towards him and held him close. “But…What’s going to happen now? Now that they have-” “We can worry about that later.” he said. You slowly nodded.

You stayed quiet for a few moments, still hearing your heart beat beating fast. You then hesitantly looked up at him. “Cloud…are we…dating right now?”

Cloud smiled slightly. “Aren’t we?” You chuckled. “So we are huh?” “If you want to.” He added. You lowered your eyes then a small smile appeared on your face. “Lets make the best out of what’s left, alright?” you said looking back at him. He understood what you were trying to say.

However long, until you pass on, you wanted to be happy with Cloud. You leaned closer to his face while he did the same. “I love you Cloud…” You said more tears came down. “Same here.” He replied.

You weren’t sure why you were crying and being so emotional, but it did feel good. You closed your eyes and you and Cloud kissed, just showing simple affection. As soon as you did, Your heart rate went back to normal, and you couldn’t help but smile a little into the kiss as soon as you noticed. ‘beep…beep…beep…’

It somehow felt like forever since the last time your and Cloud’s lips touched, and how you felt whenever they did. Right now, you sort of hated yourself for even forgetting how happy it made you.

Kayna lowered her eyes and turned around from the glass. She was standing between the edge of the glass and the door so neither you or Cloud saw her. Since the speaker was on, she heard everything. “So they’re boyfriend and girlfriend now? Wow…” She quietly said. She smiled to herself. “Alia sure looked happy…” Kayna said walking out the exiting sliding doors.

Marlene looked back as soon she saw Kayna walking down the stairs. “Where’s Cloud?” She asked standing on front of the door with Daniel, ready to leave. Kayna looked up, rose her eyebrows and opened her mouth a little as if she barely found out Marlene was there. “Huh?”

Daniel stepped forward some. “Is he on his way down?” Kayna laughed and waved her hand on front of her as she took her place beside them. “Ah-Naw…he’s staying here.” Marlene pouted. “Ohhh…So Alia didn’t wake up yet?” Kayna laughed more and slapped her hands down to her sides. “You know how stubborn he can get.”
