Chapter 7 : ~No One Can Touch Us [Alex Gaskarth] 6~
this one's cute :]

“Jack!” I said happily, giving him a huge hug. “Hey Pheebs, I thought I’d surprise you!” I laughed and climbed out of my bunk, Jack following me. “Wanna hang out with me and Zack?” “YEAH! What about Rian?” “Oh, he’s out with his girlfriend.” I grinned and changed in the bathroom so I was wearing a fun blue dress instead of a jeans and a t-shirt, then jumped off the tour bus.
“What are you all dressed up for?” Zack asked as I hugged him. “No reason, I just haven’t dressed up in a while.” I smiled and danced around happily, glad to have a reason to get off the tour bus. And hanging out with Jack and Zack was fun, they were really sweet guys. “So where are we going?” I asked curiously. “Mini-golf?” Zack suggested. “Yes, let’s all watch me fail!” I said laughing.
“Okay, so I beat you by fifteen Jack, and Phoebe, you beat both of us.” Zack said, frowning at the score card. “No way, I won something?!” I grabbed the score card, and looked over the numbers quickly. “I totally PWN’D you guys!” I danced around triumphantly and Jack laughed while Zack rolled his eyes. “So what now?” “DANCE PARTY!” Jack yelled, jumping up and running off in some random direction.
An hour later, we were all outside the TAI tour bus having a dance party with TAI, Cobra, We the Kings, Motion City Soundtrack, and Forever the Sickest Kids. “I LOVE THIS SONG!” I squealed, jumping around as Soulja Boy came on. I don’t know why I like this song, maybe it’s because of the stupid dance. After the song ended I was majorly tired and I sat down on the steps of the bus next to Sisky.
“Hey Sisky!” I said grinning at him. “Hey there Phoebe!” he yelled back. I laughed and hugged him; I hadn’t been in such a good mood for a while. “Feeling tired already?” I said, leaning my head on his shoulder. “Oh for sure, you too?” I nodded and yawned, standing up and stretching. “Hey Pheebs, you wanna dance? Hunter said, grabbing my hand before I could respond. I laughed and danced around in the middle of the group of guys, Victoria was asleep already on the Cobra bus.
“You know, it’s not really fair that you’re the only girl.” I turned around along with everyone else to see Alex leaning against the side of the tour bus. “Whoa, party over man!” Jack said as he and everyone else ran for the cover of their buses. I sighed and glared over at Alex. “Way to ruin the dance party Gaskarth.” He just laughed.
“So can I talk to you now?” “I guess so.” “Okay, follow me.” Alex reached out his hand to me, then laughed and drew it back when he saw the death glare I was giving him. We walked for a while, eventually sitting down behind an empty building.
“Nice choice of location.” “Thanks, I thought so too. Nice choice of clothing, you look um…you look beautiful.” I raised an eyebrow and looked over at Alex, now listening to him. “So where to begin. I hardly know where to start…well um, way back when, when we first met, I think we can both agree that sparks flew and we connected immediately.” “Yeah, and you had a girlfriend.” “I had been on three dates with the girl, that hardly counts!” “Well it counted to her when she slapped me for standing next to you once.” I rolled my eyes and Alex blinked, clearly unaware that had ever happened.
“Well anyhow, the night of the party…I had gotten really drunk that night before I ever saw you, and I’ve never been drunk since because I don’t want to make any more mistakes. I had no clear judgment or anything. When I gave you that drink…it wasn’t even yours, I just grabbed the first thing I saw that looked like Pepsi and it turned out to um…not be Pepsi. So then when we uh…later on…we were drunk Phoebe. I don’t know what else to say about that. But the next morning, I woke up, and I saw what I’d done. Do you know what I did?”
“You left me all by myself to cry and wallow in heartbreak?” “Well in so many cheesy words, yes, but also no. I cried. I saw you lying there next to me, and I knew I could never forgive myself for what I’d done. Which is why I still haven’t apologized, I have to forgive myself, but I can never do that. And as far as the ‘Lexy’ thing goes, that was my retarded cousin being…retarded.” I looked at Alex expectantly, waiting for one thing in particular.
“Oh yeah…I’m sorry Phoebe. I regret what I did to you every day, and trust me, it broke my heart too when I realized the impact it had on you. I ruined your life, but you should know that…that I miss you. The guys told me you just haven’t been as happy as you used to be before you met me, and I’m sorry I fucked up. I really haven’t felt the same either, I just don’t have as much energy at concerts and stuff, you know?” Alex looked over at me.
My eyes were wide and I could hardly believe that Alex was apologizing to me finally. I just sat there, speechless and unmoving. “You okay?” Alex asked me, poking my arm. “Yeah…fine. I’m sorry too Alex.” “What the fuck do you have to apologize for?” “For not listening to you.” Alex looked confused and I sat next to him and he grinned, blushing red.
“If I’d just called you or let you talk to me, we could’ve had this figured out ages ago. I’m sorry.” I hugged my knees and rested my chin on top of my knees and sighed, looking up at the star filled sky.
“There’s room for two…” Alex whispered close to my ear. I turned to see him close to me and fell over backwards. Alex laughed and helped me up and we walked back to the Cobra van, not talking really and feeling awkward. “So um, glad we had that talk.” Alex shook my hand, his face bright red, and I raised my eyebrow at him and shook his hand back, then ran onto the bus.
