I stood on my tip-toes as I searched for my favorite white-haired boy. Of course, I'm so short that I stepped up on a chair to search over all the other people taller than me. (they need to shrink, I swear. Stupid giants...) I looked all over the place for him, but he likes to appear whenever he wants, something I'm starting to dislike him doing. (It's bad for the heart! Geez...)
I stood there on the chair for a whole five minutes until I finally saw him leaning casually against the wall. I was too happy to be annoyed at him for showing up late, especially since most of the time he doesn't even show up. I leaped off the chair and ran toward him, arms outstretched to squeeze him to death once I got close enough. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hung there, feet a few inches off the ground. I buried my face in his impossibly long hair that I wished I had. (Although I did tell him once that if he ever cut it or did anything to it without consulting me, I'd cheerfully beat him to death ^^)
"Hello Bakura!" I chirped happily, still hanging from him. He turned his head toward me and glared at me, while I just grinned at him.
"Sai, stop hanging from me before I'm forced to send you somewhere you really won't like," he said to me angrily, without doing a thing to rip my arms off his neck.
"Awww, all right." I pouted but let go of him, landing on the ground. I turned around and grinned at him again before following him off somewhere. It may seem like he hated me, but he actually liked me more than he let on. The fact that he hasn't told me to go away yet and actually teaches me how to play duel monsters every once in a while (when he's not trying to kill orotherwise incapacitate Yugi for him Millenium Puzzle, and when I bug him enough that he gives in >_>)
Plus, there's the day we first met. My parents had given me a duel monsters deck one year for my birthday, but they had died before they taught me how to play the game. I lived on the streets for a few years after that, and tried dueling someone for some food. I realized that I was in way over my head after the first few turns after he had played some super-rare card I can't remember the name of right now. Before I could get hurt more than what I already was,Bakura came and pulled me out of the way, albeit forcefully and dueled in my place. After that, the guy was in the Shadow World and Bakura had his super-rare card. Although it was not even close to protecting or helping me in the first place, (he had forgotten I was there anyway, actually) I was still grateful to him. After that, I started following him around. He definitely got annoyed, but took care of me in exchange for doing the trivial things for him. (Carrying his duel disk, luggage, etc. I am pretty much his pack mule.) I don't really complain though, I'm happy I'm even with someone, and not on my own anymore.
Then I remembered there was one thing I wanted to tell him.
"Oh! Guess what Bakura!"
"What?" he asked, disinterested.
"Guess!" I persisted.
"Just spit it out Sai," he commanded coldly. I was used to that by now.
Ooh, Mr. Todd!
I'm so happy!
I could
Eat you up, I really could!
You know what I'd like to do, Mr. Todd?
What I dream
If the business stays as good?
Where I'd really like to go,
In a year or so?
Don't you want to know?
TODD: (spoken) Yes, yes, of course.
LOVETT: Do you really want to know?
TODD: (spoken) Yes, I do, I do.
"Ever since my parents were alive, they'd always promise me they'd take me to the beach! I've always wanted to go and make a sand castle that'll stay there forever and ever! I'll make sure no one ever destroys it! Maybe when I grow up and get older, I can afford a house that overlooks the ocean! That'd be really cool! And then you could come by whenever you wanted and just stay there however long you want! Wouldn't you like that?"
"The only thing I want is all seven millenium items," he states. Big surprise there.
LOVETT: (spoken) I've always had this dream...
Ever since I was a skinny little slip of a thing and my rich Aunt
Nettie used to take me down to the seaside August Bank Holiday...
The pier... Makin' little castles in the sand...
Ooh, I can still feel me toes wigglin' around in the briney!
By the sea, Mr. Todd, that's the life I covet,
By the sea, Mr. Todd, ooh, I know you'd love it!
You and me, Mr. T, we could be alone
In a house wot we'd almost own,
Down by the sea!
Wouldn't that be smashing?
TODD: Anything you say...
"Ohhh!" I complained."But it'd be fun! I'd go and fish down there every day and come back with lots of fish to eat and cook! Wouldn't that be delicious? And then I'd take your shoes off for you if you wanted. Everyday!"
"Whatever..."
LOVETT:
With the sea at our gate, we'll have kippered herring
Wot have swum to us straight from the Straits of Bering!
Ev'ry night, in the kip, when we're through our kippers,
I'll be there slippin' off your slippers!
By the sea,
With the fishies splashing!
By the sea!
Wouldn't that be smashing?
TODD: Anything you say, anything you say...
"We'd wake up by the sound of all the seagulls and the ocean waters crashing against the rocks, and then I'd make breakfast for the both of us. Next, I could walk down the shoreline and just warm myself up by the sun if it ever got cold, then maybe I could go to a friend's house and have tea with them. Then I could do laundry quietly while you plotted for your dream in having all seven millenium items!"
"It's not a dream. I will have all of the items someday!"
LOVETT:
I can hear us wakin,'
The breakers breakin,'
The seagulls squawkin,'
'Hoo, hoo!'
I do me bakin,'
Then I go walkin'
With you-hoo!
Yoo-hoo!
I'll warm me bones on the esplanade,
Have tea and scones with me gay young blade,
Then I'll knit a sweater
While you write a letter
Unless we've got better to do-hoo!
TODD: Anything you say...
"In the winter, when it's too cold to go play on the beach, we'd make a fire in our fireplace and climb under some blankets to keep ourselves warm. Then I'd go and clean up so every Friday we could have our friends over!" I said, then added teasingly, "Especially when you need to talk to somebody about the new rules for the world when you're King of it!"
He smirked. I always could make him smirk, especially when I told him about all the different things he could do when he ruled the world.
LOVETT:
Think how snug it'll be underneath our flannel
When it's just you and me and the English Channel!
In our cozy retreat kept all neat and tidy,
We'll have chums over ev'ry Friday!
By the sea!
Don'tcha love the weather?
By the sea!
We'll grow old together!
By the seaside,
Hoo, hoo!
By the beautiful sea!
(spoken)
Oh, I can see us now, in our bathing dresses!
You in a nice, rich navy, and me... stripes, perhaps.
"No one would ever bother us, except maybe for those seagulls, but I would chase them off before they disrupted the quiet!" I chirped happily as I finished describing all my dreams about a house by the sea. A blush came across my face as I thought about one thing I could never tell him, and that he'd never agree with.
Bakura in a tuxedo, and me in a beautiful white dress, with a minister there, with both of us saying our vows... I blushed more and Bakura looked at me with an eyebrow raised. He quickly just shrugged and looked away, deciding he didn't care enough.
It'll be so quiet,
That who'll come by it,
Except a seagull
Hoo, hoo!
We shouldn't try it,
Though, 'til it's legal for two-hoo!
But a seaside wedding could be devised,
Me rumpled bedding legitimized!
Me eyelids'll flutter,
I'll turn into butter,
The moment I mutter I do-hoo!
I continued with my dream. Me, safe in Bakura's arms, while he kissed my cheek gently, cuddled underneath a blanket. He'd order around the different maids and butlers while I just stayed quiet in his arms, and fire anyone who wasn't doing their job right. It'd be only a week after we got married, but we'd never dream of separating.
I was snapped out of my daydream as someone walks up to Bakura angrily. He had three different colors in his hair, and about as tall as Bakura. (Why couldn't I be taller than anyone?) I recognized him as Yami Yugi, or the Pharaoh as Bakura sometimes called him. He held the Millenium Puzzle Bakura wanted really badly. Bakura glanced at me testily and I hurried to grab his duel disk out of the duffel bag that holds everyone I own and everything he has me carry. Surprisingly, it really isn't much. Yugi says something abouthow Bakura is so mean to make me carry all this stuff. I stuck my tongue outat him which showed how much I really appreciated that comment.Bakura takes the disk and steps forward to duel Yami for another chance at the puzzle. Meanwhile, I stay way out of his way and daydream again about us together for the rest of our lives...
By the sea, in our nest, we could share our kippers
With the odd payin' guest from the weekend trippers,
Have a nice sunny suite for the guest to rest in,
Now and then, you could do the guest in!
By the sea,
Married nice and proper!
By the sea,
Bring along your chopper!
To the seaside,
Hoo, hoo!
By the beautiful sea!
