Barely stuttered out
A joke of a romantic stuck to my tongue
Weighed down with words too overdramatic
Tonight it's "it can't get much worse"
Vs. "no one should ever feel like..."
I'm two quarters and a heart down
And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds
These words are all I have so I'll write them
So you need them just to get by
Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you love to lead
Dance, this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me
You always fold just before you're found out
Drink up it's last call
Last resort
But only the first mistake and I...
I'm two quarters and a heart down
And I don't want to forget how your voice sounds
These words are all I have so I'll write them
So you need them just to get by
Why don't you show me a little bit of spine
You've been saving for his mattress, love
Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you love to lead
Dance, this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me
Why don't you show me a little bit of spine
You've been saving for his mattress (mattress, mattress)
I only want sympathy in the form of you crawling into bed with me
Dance, Dance
We're falling apart to half time
Dance, Dance
And these are the lives you love to lead
Dance, this is the way they'd love
Dance, this is the way they'd love
Dance, this is the way they'd love
If they knew how misery loved me
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
Dance, Dance
"WOOH!" Emily and Samantha screamed along with the rest of the crowd. "WE LOVE YOUUUUUUU!" Emily held up a sign that said "MARRY ME PETE!" Samantha held up a sign that said "PATRICK HAS SIDEBURNS... WOAH!" They were in the front row.
"Thanks, everybody!" Patrick shouted through the mic. "Now here's our last song, 'Don't You Know Who I Think I Am?' Then we'll sign autographs."
Whoa oh oh oh
A penny for your thoughts but a dollar for your insides
Or a fortune for your disaster
I'm just a painter and I'm drawing a blank
We only want to sing you to sleep
In your bedroom speakers, whoa
We need umbrellas on the inside
Get me just right
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
Oh oh oh oh
I could learn to pity fools as I'm the worst of all
And I can't stop feeling sorry for myself
Whoa
We only want to sing you to sleep
In your bedroom speakers, whoa
We need umbrellas on the inside
Get us right
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
We only want to sing you to sleep
(your bedroom speakers, whoa whoa)
We only want to sing you to sleep
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank on a sinking ship
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
They say quitters never win
But we walk the plank, and we walk the plank
There's a world outside of my front door
That gets off on being down
Broken down on memory lane
Alone together, we're alone (Woah)
We're broken down on memory lane
Alone together, we're alone
Oh oh oh oh
"OH MY GAWD!!" Emily shrieked. "I LOVE YOUUUUUU!!" She held up her sign. "SIGN THIS SIGN, PETE!!"
Pete signed her sign and sighed. "Crazy fangirls," he said to apparently nobody.
"Mmhmm. I can't believe that Emily tried to take your pants leg," Samantha snickered. "I didn't know she was that desperate."
Pete Wentz looked at her. "Yeah. There are some people like that," he said slowly. "Hey, do I know you from somewhere? You look kinda familiar."
"Like, duhhh. I was at your last concert. I was the girl screaming 'Holy fuck! Patrick has sideburns?!'And Emily was taping it. We watched it later and it was HI-larious."
"Oh, yeah. I remember that now," Pete smirked. "You took Patrick's hat, and put in your head. This one guy took a picture."
"Oh! That's Tylerrrr, who's here somewhere," Samantha grinned. "I have the picture in my room. Can I take one of you and me?"
"Sure thing," Pete stated. "But let me know your name, first."
"Name's Samantha Meyers. Nice to meet you, Pete Wentz."
Pete pulled Samantha up onto the stage. "Emily, take a picture of me and Sam," he ordered Samantha's friend. Emily looked startled, but took a picture of Pete and Samantha hugging. Then another of them grinning, and yet another of Samantha having her arm around Pete's neck and Pete's arm around Samantha's waist.
"Woahhhhhh. You gotta give me your number," Samantha exclaimed. "I'll give you mine." She whipped out a little notepad. "Buuuuut first things first. Give me an autograph and sign it 'For Kelsey, Pete Wentz'. I want to give it to her."
"Sure thing," Pete said smoothly, writing down "Lots of love, For Kelsey, Pete Wentz. P.S.--Hope you're happy, wherever you are." He turned it to the next page. "Lots of love, for Samantha Meyers, Pete Wentz. P.S.--Call me." He turned it to the next page. "Lots of love, For Emily, Pete Wentz. P.S.--Call me with Samantha." He wrote down his phone number on the next page and handed it back to Samantha. "There you go, my phone number," he stated.
"Thank youuuuuuu." Samantha quickly wrote down her phone number and address on a sheet of paper she found. She handed it to Pete. "There you are, my number and address. Emily lives right next door to me, so if you come, she comes out and follows you like a lost puppy."
"Got it," Pete chuckled. "Well, gotta go. Hope to see you soon, Sam."
"You too," Samantha said as Pete walked away.
