Scotch vs. Wine .:00:.
Chapter 3 : Scotch vs. Wine.:02:.
“So why are you guys even here?” I asked, stepping away from Matt and crossing my arms.
“John didn’t tell you?” A smaller kid to the back stepped forward a bit and rested his arm on his even shorter neighbor. The two were known as the Lombardi brothers, and, despite the height, looked exactly the same. The one who had spoken was Tony, and Goey (Joey).
“Tell me what?” I turned to John, glaring.
He put his hands up defensively. “Hey, I just now remembered what I had to tell you.” He smiled and pointed to the guys.
“They’re coming back to school with us.” I stood for a second, processing what Johnny just said.
I turned to the group of guys who were smiling and paused. “Wait. So You’re actually coming back, for real… willingly?” I asked, not quite believing it.
The guys ranged from 1 to 3 years older than me and Johnny, and had each dropped out of school when they turned 16. They knew I hadn’t really approved their choice of path, but there wasn’t much I could do. They already had a future ahead of them so it wasn’t as if they were going to be bums.
Solly smiled and nodded, towering over the rest of the boys. Solly (Salvatore) was around 6’5, or something, and was a huge softy. He was the one guy, aside from his “niceness”, that you didn’t want to piss off. Good things wouldn’t come from that.
I laughed. “Okay, and why couldn’t you remember to tell me?” I turned once again to Johnny, glaring.
“Uhm… so it could be a surprise? I guess?” He shrugged.
“Alright, whatever. I’m headed off to class, anyways. I’ll see you guys at lunch.” I smiled and continued walking to Science.
As I walked in, I headed to the back and sat down, sneering at Stefani Smith as her and her posy strolled in.
“So, anyway, Johnny looked at me yesterday, and was about to walk over to me, but his whore Sophie, took him away again. I swear, that girl’s obsessed with him.” She looked straight at me as she said it, and I just smiled at her, causing her to huff and turn back to her friends, her dark hair flying in her face.
“What a slut. She’s really not even that pretty.” Kelly, her right hand girl said. “But anyways, did you hear?” She asked, her voice getting all hush hush.
“Hear what?” Stefani looked genuinely interested as Kelly began to tell her the “news” which probably consisted of who slept with who and who got drunk over the weekend.
“The new guys? Apparently they came here several years ago and all dropped out when they were 16. And they’re just now coming back. They’re mega hot. I saw them in the hall a little while ago.” She casually glanced at her nails, ignoring the astounded look Stefani was giving her.
“Am I, like, the last girl to know this?” She asked and Kelly shrugged.
“Melissa Waters probably doesn’t know.” Kelly referred to the girl who never talked to anyone and secluded herself to the back corners of class. She was the one who most social groups liked to make fun of. I’d talked to her once or twice and she was actually pretty nice.
Stefani huffed. “Well that’s saying a lot. She doesn’t know anything. She’s so stupid.”
“I know. Did you see what she did to her hair?” Two weeks ago, she had cut it shorter and died it a nice honey brown with chunky blonde streaks. I loved it. They didn’t.
“Ugh. Hideous. But anyway! More about these boys. How many are there?” She was becoming more curious as the conversation continued. I had to laugh, because I knew exactly who they were talking about, and more. But they didn’t need to know that.
“Okay, so there are four of them. I think they’re all friends with Johnny, but I’m not sure. I think their names are Mike, Sam, Tim, and Grant. I could be wrong.” Kelly said it as if she were right, but was just trying to pull it off like she knew everything about them. “They’re absolutely gorgeous.”
Stefani smirked and glanced back at me as if to rub it in my face that she had a chance I didn’t. Too bad for her, it was the other way around.
As the bell rang, a familiar tall figure glided into the room and stopped at the teacher’s desk.
“Well, hello gorgeous.” Stefani mumbled under her breath, sitting up, and pulling her shirt tighter against herself.
Solly stepped back from the teacher’s desk and looked around, smiling as he spotted me and walked back, passing Stefani who placed her hand on his arm. Disregarding her without even a glance, he sat next to me.
“Hey Solly.” I smiled, sending Kelly a smug look. “I didn’t know you were taking this class.”
He sighed. “Yeah, it was one of the first glasses I dropped.” He laughed and opened his books.
“So where are we in this baby?” He began flipping pages and I laughed at him, hitting my hand on the book to stop the flipping.
“Chapter 10. Making Babies!” I exclaimed, and laughed at his horrified face.
“No wonder I dropped out. It destroys the wonders of my sex life.” He sighed and rested his chin in his hand.
I laughed. “Solly, do you even have a sex life?”
He looked up offended. “Yes! Of course I do! And you shouldn’t be one to talk, missy.” He poked me in the stomach. I blushed and looked away.
“Whatever.” I mumbled, and class started.
