Chapter 4 : Summer Lovin' and Havin' No Cares...Yeah Right. [Part 3]

This is so gonna suck, I hope to God that Tim gets there and fast.
"Hey Daphne?" Katie asked while straightening her dress.
"Yes love, you rang?" I tried talking in my best imitation of a british accent.
"Do I look okay?"
"Honey, you look more than okay. You look down right smashing!"
"Daphne, please don't use the british voice, it creeps me out."
"Sorry I was just trying to spice things up."
"Eh, it's okay you're sassy enough for the both of us."
"Very true. Katie, if you don't mind my asking, how am I getting to Matt's tonight?"
"Matt's going to give you a ride, silly goose."
"Wait..Come again? I didn't hear that right. Did you say that Matt was giving me a ride?"
"Yes. I mean why wouldn't he, you know I can't give you a ride there since Travis is picking me up and I didn't want you to waste your gas so I just asked him to pick you up. He agreed almost instantly."
I looked at her sourly and thought I bet he did, that little s. o. b.
"What, is everything okay Daphne?"
"Yeah. Just dandy." I lied while trying to force a smile onto my face, it probably came out looking like I was trying not to pass gas. Oh how lovely.
"Well, Matt & Travisshould be here in about," she glanced at the clock on the wall, "twenty minutes." Yippee. God strike me down now please. I promise to go quietly just strike me down now.
As I waited, I twiddled my thumbs while Katie fretted over her hair, make-up, and her whole appearance in general. "Katie calm down, Travis will fall to his knees when he sees you!"
"You think so?"
"Darling, I know so! So quit worrying." I said sternly.
"You're right. Oh wait that reminds me. Travis and I will probably be home really late tonight, like one in the morning, so I asked Matt if he could give you a ride home but then he suggested that you should just stay over there for the night and I thought that was a grand idea so that way you wouldn't have to be all groggy and end up waking myparents up when you got home from stumblingaround in thedark." Katie said innocently.
"You agreed to WHAT?!?!" I said frantically. I started tohyper-ventilate. I cannot believe sheagreed to have me spend the night at his house! He's the spawn of Satan! How could she? I'm not that clumsy, ok so I am butthat doesn't mean that I should have to spend the night with a monster. I'd rather spend the night outside.
"You're going to spend the night with him and that's that. I don't know what you're problem is, I mean you barely know Matt and I'm sure you'll have a great time. So just go pack a bag real quick, you only have," She looked at the clock again, "ten minutes now."
"That's just it. I don'treally know anything aboutthis Mattguy and it just kinda freaks me out that I'llbe spending the night with a total stranger." I said with livid eyes and just hoping toGod that Icould just dienow.
"Daphne go pack a bag becauseI don't want to hear it. Stop stressing me out for my date and just gopack a bag." I looked at her increduously. "NOW." She said with a sense of finallity and that look in her eyes, oh the determined look. Great I was in for it now. So I had to give up and I sulked up the stairs to pack some things. After doing so and slowly coming down the stairsI heardthe doorbell ring. Oh whoopee my death ride is here.
I heard the door open and Katie exchange acheerful greeting with whoever was downstairs.I peeked around the edge of the stairs to seewho it was and it wasin fact Matt. Oh fuck. Matt suddenly looked up and saw me peeking at him so I swung my head aroung to hide on the stairs. "Daphne come on down hun, Matt's here." "Oh yes do come downDaphne. I don't wantto start our Movie Marathon late." Matt said too perkily.
"She's not here at the moment." I said lamely carefully crawling back up the stairs to safety. I heard footsteps coming towards the staircase.
"Daphne what are you doing?" Katie asked angrily.
"Ohit looks as if Daphne has decided topractice army crawling up the stairs." Matt said teasingly.
"Matt shut up." I said darkly turning around and flashing him myangry blue eyes.
"Daphne don't be so rude and come down here this instant so you cango over to Matt's house."Matt smiled smugly at me as Katie said this. Damn him to hell.But seeing the look on Katie's face and realizing I wasn't going to win I slowly came back down the stairs and stood as far away from Matt as possible.
"Ok well try to be nice to poor Matt and try to have a good time. And for pete's sake try to behave!" Katie said.
"Yes Mother."Que the eye roll. Mattjust chuckled. I gave him a glare.He still smiled at me smugly. Oh how I want to just smack that look off your face. Youbugnut.
"Ohone more thing before I leave Katie. Try not to get lucky tonight becauseIreally don't want to have to come home tomorrow to find Travis in bed with you half naked or worse and then have toget you an aspirin and water and have you complain about a splitting headache and stuff hurting else where while you have that goofy smile on your face. Cuz then all Ican say to you is, Itold you so." I said cheekily,kissing her cheek and running out the door before she could react. I heardMatt start laughing his ass off andwhile I heard Katie gave a little squeal of disgust. I smiled, Matt has anice laugh. Wait a minute, no he doesn't he's a prickand I just had a brainlapse, that's all.
Matt finally came out the door and led me to his car, which by the way was reallynice, not as nice as mine but almost. His was a black FordF150 truck with duel enginesand no doubt black on black interior with a killer stereo system. I climbed into the passenger side of the truck and threw my bag into the back. I turned to look at Matt who in factjust looked me with an evil smirk as he locked all the doors. "Matt, why are you looking at me like that? You know I was just messing around this morning,right? Right?"I said nervously.
"Oh Daphne, how I wish I could believe you, but I told you that payback's a bitch and tonight it's all about getting you back." As he said this he leaned over towards me but just as he was 3 inches away from my face my cell rang. I jumped butanswered it quickly. "Hello?" I asked noteven knowingwho was calling.
"Hey Daphne, it's Tim. Whyaren't you here yet? I'm sitting here in my car waiting for you and I tried the door at Matt's but his butler said that he came to pick up you. So what the hell?" Tim asked.
"I'm in the car with Matt right now andhow did you even get mynumber?" I asked suddenly suspicious. As I said Matt's name his head perked up and he tried to get even closer to my face and closer to the ear that I was holding my cellphone to. I moved as far away from him as possible.
"I called Katieafter I couldn't find you and she gave meyour cellphone number easily." Figures.
"Good ole' Katie. Sheesh she really is desperate to get me a boyfriend. Ugh just handing out numbers to perfect strangers."
"I'm not a stranger you know me, although thanks for the perfect part."Tim said cockily.
"You are not perfect and you're being an arrogant butthole right now soyou're not really helping your case of not being a cocky butthole now are you?" I asked.
"Oh that's right, crap I forgot. But I mean Ireally am not that kind ofguy. I swear. Anyways, what isMatt doing?" Tim asked.
"Well as of yet nothing but he just tried to lean into my personal space andpop my bubble. I thought youwere going to protect mebut if you can't do that I'm just going to have to pop one right into his pretty little nose." I saiddeviously.
"Likeyou could Daphne." I heard Mattsay arrogantly. At this I flipped him the bird.
"I am going to it's just that I thought you would already be here for me to protect you and I didn't know that Matt was going togive you a ride."
"Yeah well considering the situationI think I might just walk."Iput my hand towardsthelock butMatt leaned over quickly and grabbed my hand.
"Ah. ah. Ah.Daphne, not so fast. And who are you talking to anyways?" Matt asked.
"None of your business, nosey and if you don't take your hand off of mine I'm going tobite you and trust me I can penetrate through the skin. It will leave an ugly little scar on your hand."
I heard Tim chuckle on the phone. "The sad thing is, that I can actually picture you doing that." Tim said with more laughter in his voice.
"Tim shut up. You want me tobite you when I get there?Cuz I will."
"Sure I do, if I can pick the place you bite me." Tim said pervertedly.
"Ew you little perv! I told you once and I'm going to tell you again that I don't think you're sexy and thatyou're not getting any from me. Sheesh boy you are thick headed and right downsick in the mind. You need help, proffessional help." After I said this Matt looked at the phone suspicisously and almost with malice.
"Hey, I'm not theone threatining to bite people."As he said this Matt took the phone from me.
"Tim she's going to have to call you back in a little while and whatever you said to her, take it back." And with that he slammed my phone shut.
"Give me my phone you big jerk!" I said desperately trying to reach for my phone but unsuccessfully.
"I'd watch what you'd say Daphne. I mean youreally aren't in a position tobe making demands. Sinceit's my time for payback. Butit won't happen until we get back to the house and you can have your cellphone back...tomorrow." He said with amischevious smirk and with that he turned towards the road, turned on thetruck, anddrove towards his house. This whole silence thing, really wasn't working for me..I was like scared crapless and I was also steamed that he wasn't going togive me my phone back. Maybe I could sneak it away from him when he's sleeping..I could do more than that when he's sleeping. Ok people not like that but like tie him tothe bed and then spray shaving cream & honey all over him. Then I could give him a little bit of a hair cut and give him a make-over, take a picture of it and then post it on myspace.Ultimate humilation. Perfect. At this thought I smirked but then turned to look out the window soMatt couldn't catch me smiling at all. When we finally pulled up to the house I saw that it wasn't just a house..it was like a mansion. No joke, witha wrought iron gate and everything. I felt my jaw fall wide open, I mean it was like amazing. I think I just fell in love with his house, which is too bad since such a rotten apple lives in such a palace. I saw another nice looking car parked in the garage labeled "guest" which could only be Tim, thank heavens. Which means that Matt wouldn't be able to get as much payback. Thank you God. I quickly grabbed my bag & my purse and opened the door quickly to get to Tim. "I'm free at last! Tim there you are..I thought I was going to be murdered. Kidd you not." I said exasperatedly and a little over the top.
"Riiight. I'm just glad he didn't try to make a move on you." Tim said.
"Why? Oh and tonight I have a plan for even bigger payback for taking my cellphone away until tomorrow. We can do it when he's sleeping if you wanna help me." I said sweetly and batted my eyelashes at him.
"No reason I just don't think it's nescessary to hit on you when getting revenge. And I'm not gonna help you get payback,I promised to protect you but I didn't ever agree to messing with my best friend." Tim said quicklya little too quickly.
"Oh please Tim, it'll be so much fun and I promise you you'll enjoy it. Plus you'll be my best friend if you help me with it." I said almost seductively and giving him my best puppy dog look. He tried to look away but too late, he looked at me and I knew he was going to cave. It worked all the time back home.
"Oh alright. Just stop giving me that look, your creeping me out." Tim said but there wasn't any sickness in it. I looked at him and he looked right at me and it just filled my whole body with heat with him just staring at me. I decided to work this look a little more.
"Aww. You're not really creeped out by me are you? I mean that really hurts my feelings you know." As I said this I slowly walked toward him almost like I was stalking my prey before I pounced. He looked warily at me and tried backing up but just landed against the door. I smiled smugly at him and gave him a wink and with that he looked like melted butter.
"N-n-no but you shouldn't mess with me like this. It isn't good to make anyone else mad." Tim said but his heart really wasn't in it.
"You're not mad at me, I know you want me. I mean come on, you can say it really I won't mind." I said huskily almost only an inch away from him. Although that didn't do much when he was like 6'1 and I'm like 5'2 but I was close and that's all that mattered.
"Say waah? I mean there is nothing to say."
"Yes there is, you can say it and this time I got on my tip-toes right into his face, you can say it, you think I'm," I breathed right into his ear as I said it and I could hear him shiver,"sexy." and with that I side-stepped him and walked inside. As I looked back I could see the stunned expresion on his face. Score for Daphne. But I celebrated a small victory for I wasn't paying attention to where I was going and I walked right into Matt. He did not look happy.
"What was all that about?" He demanded.
"Once again none of your business. I have a right to talk to Tim, don't I or are you going to cut me off from that too." He opened his mouth to speak but then I caught him off."No, Matt just don't say anything. I'm just going to go upstairs, take a quick shower, and then we can have your stupid movie marathon. Oh and don't even think about getting payback tonight since Tim's here and I'll have him kick your ass." I said sassily and with that I walked away up the stairs hoping to find a bathroom and hopefully not get lost.
