Good Boys and Bad Girls Don't Mix Pt 89: Prep Time

Created by forbiddenmyass on Tuesday, May 27, 2008

"Okay, now you ready?" Its Thursday night and I'm going over dancing with Matt one last time before prom. I don't figure he'll get it down for real but its worth another try.
"I'm telling you, dancing just isn't my thing!" He says insistantly. I just shake my head at him though.
"You just have to move with the music." I tell him more insistantly.
"That's just it; I have not rythem!" He says sounding terribly frustrated with it all.
"I know babe; just give it a chance." I tell him in the most soothing voice I can muster. He sighs before leaning in and kissing me a little more roughly then usual.
"How about we work on our steps upstairs." The line is so dorky but when he says it; it sounds so sweet I just can't resist.
"I guess we have a little time for that." I say trying to make it sound like its a hassle but then grab him by the hand and pull him upstairs.
Its dinner time but Matt and I are still upstairs in bed. He's starting to doze off, and I admit I'm a little tired too. His head is rested on my shoulder and I can see his eye lids starting to droop. I kiss him on the forehead and he looks up at me and smiles a little.
"We can eat later." He whisper and I nod to him. He starts to fall asleep but I stay awake. There's a book on my nightstand, I grab it and start to read. Its the copy of Origin of Species that Matt left there. I kiss him lightly on the lips and he shifts a little in his sleep. I start to read, even though I've read this book a million times before. I read for about an three hours before he wakes up.
"Hi baby." He says in the tired and slightly out of sorts tone that I've grown to love so much.
"Hey you. Its almost nine." I tell him but he's not in any hurry to move.
"Mmmhmmm." He mumbles before laying his head back on my shoulder.
"Aren't you hungry?" I ask and he nods.
"A little, but I don't want to move." He says before stretching out and then rolling over so he's laying on top of me.
"I love you." He says before leaning in and kissing me, not giving me the oppertunity to argue.
"I love you to." I manage to get out. I push him off after a couple more kisses; I want to eat something.
"Food time!" I demand and he sighs but begrudgedly gets up and follows me downstairs and into the kitchen.
"Food time!" I say again more insistantly.
"I know, food time. What do you want to eat?" He asks, seeming annoyed with me for making him get up. I finally just grab a granola bar and drag him back upstairs.
"You made me go all the way down stairs for a granola bar?" He demands and I can't help laughing at him.
"All the way downstairs. Like its a long walk or something!" I say giggling a little at him. He pulls me back into bed though and I eat my granola bar and then we go to sleep. Morning comes fast, and it dawns on me when I see my prom dress hanging in the closet that I get to wear it tonight and I couldn't be more excited. I pull Matt out of bed and make him get ready for school. You'll never see me do this again; but if we're not at school today we can't go to prom so there's no way in hell we're gonna be late today.
"Come on!" I demand, pulling him by his arm out the door. He's still half asleep but he lets me drag him out the door anyway.
"Listen Odile about prom tonight." Oh jeez.
"Yeah?" I demand, doing my best to make it sound like if he tries to back out on me I may snap; and I just might.
"Maybe you should just go with Chase." He says; more nervous then I've ever heard him before. I want to slam on the breaks, open the door and just push him out and leave him on the corner.
"Whatever." I say calmly as I can though. When we find a parking spot I slam my door closed and storm into the school without even bothering to lock my car.
"Your going to prom with me." I tell Chase when I manage to find him; but he gives me the same nervous look as Matt did.
"What?" I ask trying to hide as much of my frustration as I can.
"Well I asked Lacy if she would go with me; and she said yes." I toss my arms into the air and storm off down the hallway toward English.
"I'm sorry!" I hear him yell after me but I don't even bother with him.
"What's with you?" Angelique asks when I stomp into Mrs. Hapher's class.
"I have no date!" I bark at her and gapes at me in confusion.
"What do you mean you have no date?" I plop down into my chair and start to cry; right in front of Mrs. Hapher who I can feel staring at me with concern.
"Matt backed out on me! I have no date!" I bark and without even giving it a second thought leave the room with Ang trailing along behind me. She follows me into the bathroom where I stand in front of the mirror and try to wipe the streaks of stark black make-up from my cheeks.
"Hey come on; don't cry Odile-ie. It'll all work out." She says, doing her best to calm me down. I won't hear it though; I just plain refuse.
"No it won't! I'm not going to prom!"
