"Well there is a couple of missions out there with quite a price," Pein said from the shadows. You glanced over at Kakazu who was sitting still. No expression was readable. "Here are the reports on them," he said indifferently. "Don't bother me unless it's about the missions," he said, and then he disappeared.
You picked up the paper and looked at the rank, a S-rank( I don't know how they rank it so lets just say it's VERY hard.) You passed over the description of the mission and went to look at the pay: 500,000.
"I think I can do it," you said smugly.
"You won't be able to," retorted Kakazu as he flipped through the pages. Some of the members chuckled softly. You glared at him. You weren't weak.Youwanted toprove to him that you weren't. You were madly in love with Kakazu, but you tried not to be toobvious. No one knew about your crush on him, but you wanted to know if he liked you. You'd find out one day...
"Yes I can, and I am going to!" you hissed at him. You walked out of the room, and headed to Leader-sama's office. You knocked on the door. It opened up, and you walked in.
"Yes Katsumi?" Pein said from his chair.
"I'll take the mission S-rank," you said smirking.
"Fine," he replied, and you were on your way.
-------Back in the meeting place--------
"She's going to do it," said Itachi. Kakazu held his look.
"I'll go with her," Hidan said. He rose up and left.
Kakazu looked at the information again. This mission was very hard. It had to do with a insane ninja who had a very strong kekkai genkai. This was probably one probably only Pein could really complete and do a perfect job. 'What will happen to her?' Kakazu asked himself.
-----Later-----
"Kakazu," Hidan said harshly trying to get him. "Get here."
Kakazu rose from his spot and headed to the front. There was Hidan holding a somewhat limp red figure. He came closer and saw who it was. He held back a gasp. There you were smirking slightly, drenched in blood.
"What were you thinking?" Kakazu asked as he looked at you. You were cut up in a multitude of places. Blood was dripping everywhere. It fell down slowly across your face. You were being held up by Hidan who had tagged along with you. You didn't really like being held by him. You didn't like Hidan at all, but he was the one who was there. Hidan's hands were bright red with your blood. None of the other members were there, but the word of your injuries was being spread.
"I was going to show you that I could do the mission. I killed him didn't I?," you said. You winced; it hurt to talk. You were light-headed. You had been attacked, and a lot of your blood was gone. Who knew that the certain village had a ninja whose kekkai genkai could control blood?
"Why didn't you tell me? We're partners, remember? That was almost a suicidal mission! Did you not read any of the information?" he said harshly.
"Yeah I know, and No all I saw was the rank, and how much money was going to given," you responded trying to smirk. You just wanted to impress him. That was all you wanted. You wanted him to admire you..... love you.
"You're such an idiot!," Kakazu yelled as he brought you into the infirmary. He tried to act angry and act as if he were in disbelief of your actions, but inside he was worried sick. Kakazu loved you, but he never wanted to show it. He had never liked someone so much.
He placed you onto the bed. It was hard. The light shone above your head. How many times had you been here? You smiled as you began to remember the time you were on a mission near the village, and you had falling of the cliff-like rock. You had two fingers almost detached, and Kakazu had sewed them up. You could still remember the one mission that you had a large gruesome gash on your back. Kakazu had sewed that up too. Today was probably the last day you'd ever be stitched up.
"Stitch me up. Just one last time," you said to him. Blood trickled down your face as you tried to lift your head and smile.
"Lay back down," he said roughly.
"What's the word you have to say?" you said softly. Speaking was hard right now.
He sighed, "Please?" You smiled and lied back down. He grabbed a needle and began to sew the large cuts on your arm. You winced slightly as the needle ran through your skin. The pain was a little more bearable after the a bit, but you were starting to drift off to the nice black space that was calling your name.
"I have to tell you something before I go to sleep," you mumbled to Kakazu.
"What Katsumi?" he asked. His hands were bright red from your blood.
He knew there wasn't much to help. You were towards the brink of death. No matter how many stitches he made, he couldn’t save you like he wanted to; too much blood was lost.
"I love you," you whispered.
Kakazu looked at you, his head tilted to the side. He was secretly joyful, but he couldn't let anyone now. He didn't want people to know that every time you talked or looked his way his blood would sing, and he'd get butterflies. He smiled softly, putting down the needle.
"I love you, too," he whispered so only you could hear. He bent down and kissed you softly. It made you feel so much better almost as if the pain had gone away.
"Kakazu stay here with me please," you said, your breathing was getting shallow. Kakazu knew there wasn't much time left. He held your hand as you slipped over. He had an idea forming in his head. He'd get Hidan to resurrect you. He didn't want you to be gone. Your eyes closed as you finally drifted off. He pulled back his hands slowly just as Pein walked in.
"So Kakazu, we just lost a member. You were her partner; what do you want to do with her body?" Pein asked. "Sasori would like to make her a puppet. He said she would be great."
Kakazu clenched his teeth. He didn't want her to become a puppet. He wanted her alive. His idea would work. It had too.
"No, I have a better idea..."
~~~~~~~~A time later~~~~~~~~
You're eyes fluttered open. A white light beamed over head. You saw Kakazu's face. 'Either I'm in heaven or hell, but Kakazu's here,' you thought smiling.
You were stiff. Your body itched, and it was bothering you. Wasn't heaven painless? Or weren't you suppose to feel pain forever much worse than this in hell? You turned your head to flex your neck and to get a better view of Kakazu. You saw him, and you saw Hidan in the far of corner.
"What's he doing here?" you asked. Hidan had never really been someone you liked. 'Damn I am in hell. Hidan's here,' you thought.
"He brought you back," Kakazu said. 'What? He brought me back?' you thought. You looked at Kakazu again. He had no shirt on, and his chest looked as if it had been opened and sewed back together. 'Did I cause that?' you thought.
You looked down at your chest. It was all bandaged up, but you could see stitches coming from under the bandages. You didn't remember being sliced up there. You looked back up at Kakazu.
"Did I get hurt?" you whispered.
"Not really. We just needed to replace your heart," he said smiling.
You raised an eyebrow. You were confused.
"What? Why are you hurt?" you said still puzzled.
"We just needed to replace your heart, and I was a donor. Now I have your heart, and you have mine," he smiled.
"Literally?" you asked.
"Literally," he responded. "And figuratively," he said softly again so only you could hear.
