~Sober And I Still Hit Someone.~
Chapter 3 : *_*Ignorance Is Not A Bliss*_*
"Stop taunting them Audra." A woman walked into the room. Her long light brown hair swished around her waist. The ends of her hair were all an odd silver color. It was pretty, but nothing I’d seen before.
"Neviah..." The women Audra bowed her head slightly to Neviah. I noticed that Audra's hair was cut in an a-line style and light pink, but it didn't looked like a washed out pink color. It almost looked natural on her. Her mint, green eyes seemed to calm.
"You can leave Audra. I know you're worried about him. I'll take care of them." Audra simply nodded and walked quickly out of the room. Neviah turned her gaze to us. Her eyes were an eerie dark purple. They looked like they had seen more than one should.
"What should I do with you kiddos?"A flash of humor, mixed with sadness went through her eyes, as she said kiddos.
"You could tell us what's going on." Rachael was staring at what looked like a gun holder on Neviah's right leg. You could barely see the ends of crimson colored cards poking out. The holder was wrapped in a chain.
"Could. Anyways I guess you four should take a shower. Walking around covered in blood, is not something you want to do here." She motioned for us to follow her.
She took us up a flight of old, crumbling grey marble stairs. Turing to the right we ended up in a long corridor. Doors lined either side, while a navy blue rug with a gold diamond pattern, ran down the center of the hall. The light blue walls were cracked and peeling.
Neviah walked towards a door to her left. She rapped on the door softly. After about five minutes the door slowly opened.
"Ashlynn, could you clean these girls up?" Ashlynn had dark brown curly hair, pulled into a side ponytail. She had magenta, motherly eyes.
After looking us over, she nodded. "Thanks. I'll be back in a few for them." Neviah turned and waved to us, and walked down the long hall, fading into the shadows.
"Come in." Hearing Ashlynn's voice made us all jump. She had a soft voice, but the unbearable silence made everything louder. "Why not? It's just a shower." Kaitlynne walked into Ashlynn's room, we followed.
Her room was large. The walls were painted a light tan, the carpet was dark brown and looked new. A big four poster bed was covered in a red, pink, and black comforter with tons of pillows.
She led us to an adjoining bathroom. The white tile gleamed, making the black granite counter stand out. A huge gold rimmed mirror was hung on the wall.
"Who's gonna go first?" Rachael looked at us skepticly. "Let's settle this the old fashioned way. Rock. Paper. Scissors." I smiled holding out my hand.
"You serious? You suck at rock, paper, scissiors." Katie stared at me weirdly. Shrugging they all put their hands in. Of course i was the first one to loose. Rachael killed me with scissors.
Kaitlynne was next, Rachael, and then Katie. Smiling Katie waved at us, probably telling us to get out quickly, so she could get in the shower. We all stood in the room, no one wanted to get blood on any of Ashlynn's things.
Ashlynn was sitting on her bed, reading. It was too dark in the room for me to make out what she was reading. I would have to get closer to see what it was.
Apparently Rachael wanted to know too, because she just walked up next to Ashlynn. "What are you reading?"
Looking up, she closed the book and smiled. "Nothing, just a love story."
"Really? Is it good? Does it end well? I love, love stories." Rachael was beaming as she stared at Ashlynn curiously.
"Yes, it's good. No, he dies before her." Her magenta eyes hazedover, but then quicklly returned to normal.
Katie opened the door to the bathroom. She was wrapped in a huge red towel. Sheepishly she stepped out. "I didn't know if i should put my bloody clothes back on."
Ashlynn stood up quickly and started to rumage through her oak dresser. Pulling out an outfit, she handed it to Katie. "Here you can wear these. They'll stuit you. There is also make-up in the top right drawer. If you want to use any."
"Thanks." Katie quickly stepped back in the bathroom and ten minutes later stepped out again. Her outfit was really cute, that's all i can say.
She was wearing a dark brown pleated skirt, and a light brownish, purple shirt, that hung off her shoulders. Over that she wore a grey, purple tank top. It had light pink lace sticking out the bottom and going up the middle. The hems of the tank top were dark brown, so was the bow. A pink and white striped scarf was wound loosely around her neck. Tan converse finished off the outfit.
Smiling, Ashlynn started to fix Katie's hair. Rachael went into the shower next. "Kattttiiiiee! That's a really cute outfit!"
"Thanks...Kaitlynne and Ashlynn." Leaning against the wall i watched Ashlynn's movements. It was time to profile her. She seemed to really enjoy doing hair, make-up, and dressing people up. She was creative, quiet, smart from the looks of it, and gentle by nature.
I could figure out more about her later. Rachael stepped out of the bathroom. It looked like she was going to ask something, but Ashlynn had already started pulling out clothes for her.
Handing them over to Rachael, Ashlynn went back to finish Katie's hair. She had pinned it up with a clip, leaving two long pieces of her hair hanging out. They framed her face.
"So...Ashlynn? What is this place?" Her fingers slipped a little on the brush. I'd caught her off guard. "This is a mansion, well was one as you can see."
"Yeah...why do you all live here though?" I had to know. To not know why we were being held captive, even though it was nice, was killing me.
"It's the only place where we are safe...and accepted."
Steam poored into the room as Rachael stepped out. She was wearing a grey dress with a tan hoodie over it. The dress was cute. It tied a little above the waist, and was ruffled at the bottom. The hoodie was plain except for lighter, grey edging. Dark brown boots a little below her knees finished off the outfit.
"I like!" Rachael twirled happily. The bathroom door shut, as Kaitlynne went in. "I'm glad you like them. The outfits suit you all well." Ashlynn started to play with Rachael's hair.
"Well...that Einar guy was talking about, running from something. Do you know what he was talking about?" It looked like she nearly dropped the brush again. "No, i'm afraid not. He was probably delirious from being hit by a car."
Kaitlynne came out of the bathroom and grabbed the clothes offered to her. I thought about pressing Ashlynn for more information, but it looked like i might make her mad.
Grinning from ear to ear Kaitlynne stepped out of the bathroom. She had a grey pleated skirt on, with a studded red belt. For a shirt she was wearing a plain, white, short sleeve shirt. A black garter with white lace, was around her right upper arm.Calf high black buckled boots, over grey thigh high stockings finished off the outfit.
"Nice, Kait." Rachael stepped out of the way so that Ashlynn could do Kaitlynne's extremely thick hair. I walked to the bathroom.Quickly, i cleaned myself up. The whole time i was debating how to bring up the subject to Ashlynn again.
Stepping out a wrapped a blue towel around me. I opened the door and took the clothes i was offered.
I started to put on a burgandy pleated skirt and thigh high, black stockings. A yellow long sleeved undershirt with thin, brown stripes. Then a light brown short sleeve shirt, rimmed with brown. Fingerless light pink and dark purple gloves were next, with a matching scarf. A cute kitty hat with a pink bows on either side finished the outfit.
I tried the black ankle boots on. Surprisingly they fit perfectly, so did everything else. It was sort of weird. Opening the top right drawer, i put on some make up.
Then i walked out to join the others. Kaitlynne's hair had been put up in high pigtails, with chopsticks through them, Rachaels had been left down, and i was planning to leave mine down as well, since i had a hat.
At that moment, a knock at the door made the akward, silent room, start. "That scared me." Katie glanced at the door as a red head walked through. His hair was spiked here and there. Good humored emerald eyes observed us.
"So you're the girls who brought back that careless idiot. Hah! I'll never let him live this one down. Anyways let's go. They've decided if their gonna let you live or not. Let's go hear the verdict." He was grinning, which made us think he was joking or just didn't care.
"Literally?" The others looked scared as Kaitlynne spoke up.
"Yep. Don't worry it'll be quick and painless...i think." He turned towards the door, wearing a more serious expression.
"He's not kidding." I stared at him. He simply shrugged. "It's not my call sorry babe." I wanted to take his head off for the babe part.
The guy with onyx back hair and grey tips came out of no where and leaned against the door way. "Let's go. If we dispose of you, we dispose of you." His dark eyes were cold. "It's a dog eat dog world girls. It's a shame you have to learn this the hard way."
We all were being escorted to our deaths. Planning how to get out of bad situations is my forte. That's why i went to colledge, but i was begining to wonder if i could get us out of this one.
