Chapter 5 : ))(( Did We...Fail?!))((
"We're the Hitachiin brothers!"
Apparently the others had noticed the brothers. They walked up behind me. I stood up and brushed myself off.
"Okaaay. What grade are you?"
Kaitlynne was smiling. "Hope they're in our grade!"
"Twincest!" Pointing accusingly at the twins Rachael started to laugh. Everyone started to laugh, except the confused looking twins and a green looking Kaitlynne. Kaitlynne's dad is a twin, so she didn't find twincest funny, more along the lines of disgusting.
The twins looked at each other and shrugged. "Poor people, what can we do?" Their expressions were ones of false pity.
"We can understand everything you're saying."Rachael's laughter had turned into an expression, that i could only guess to be, 'i'm going to crack your heads together if you keep talking.'
"Anyways. I'm Miller Katie." Katie looked a little annoyed. Apparently she was the only who had maintained common sense.
The twin on the right spoke,"I'm Kaoru."Slinging his arm over his brother's shoulder, the other twin stared at us expectantly.
"Uht Rachael. cough baka cough." Smiling she looked away. The twins looked a little confused. Apparently, being a transfer student means you can get away with "accidental" insults.
"Tis-Tisdale Kaitlynne."
I couldn't help myself."I'm me. You are?" The twin who hadn't given his name yet looked like he was pouting. Kaoru was laughing silently, apparently he was more mature then his brother was.
"You first." The twin straightened up, narrowing his eyes.
"I dont understand you!" I shook my head back and forth, shrugging.
"You just spoke Japenese!"
Kaoru and Rachael spoke up at the same time. Both of them looked amused. Kaitlynne was staring at the 'unamed twin' with a curious look.
"Hikaru."
"Christensen Tia."
"I WIN!" At that moment the teacher started to call our names, from the doorway. We ran back, laughed the whole way.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had to sit through two more hours of unbearable testing.The teacher refused to let us go back outside after the second hour. None of us knew why, and it was annoying.
"She probably thinks we got answers from the twins."I was being blunt, but i didn't care.
"Why would rich kids, who get in automatically, help us?" Katie got up to sharpen her pencil.
"Who knows...wonder if we will see those two again." Kaitlynne looked a little dreamy eyed. I wolf whistled, and the teacher looked up at us sharply.
"Back to the test girls."
~~~~~~
Finally, we were done with all the stupid testing. We were escorted out of the school by the teacher, after she had sealed our finished tests away in an envelope.
A new car was waiting for us. It was silver and really nice looking. Our suitcases were no where in sight, leading me to believe that they were most likely in the trunk.
"Great. Now who's here to "escort" us." Kaitlynne rolled her eyes and started tapping her foot.
"At least someone is here to escort us!" Personally, I’m navigationally challenged and was relieved that i didn't have to try to figure out a map, even worse, a map written in a foreign language.
A guy with black hair and glasses stepped out of the passengers door. He smiled, well tried, to smile warmly at us.
"Woooow. He looks happy to see us, don't you agree?" His smile could have been better practiced.
"I dunno Tia. At least he doesn't have lights shining behind his head, more of a...black void thing going on." Kaitlynne smiled a sickly sweet smile, and waved at the guy.
"That was creepy..." Katie was staring at Kaitlynne like she was a monster.
"Awww...I was trying!" She turned away from Katie, and proceeded to pout.
"Alright you guys, who wants to speak to...him...first?" Rachael was pointing carelessly at the guy. His dark brown eyes, were irritated.
Rachael opened her mouth to speak, but he cut her off. "I'm Ootori Kyouya. I'll be escorting you to the apartments you'll be staying in."
"You know english?" You always need to figure out if they can speak english or not. You might regret it if they do know how, and you're not being very nice while talking in english.
"Hmmmm. I wonder?"I sighed inwardly. I'm not sure who it was, but i'm pretty sure it was Kaitlynne, who said, "damn it."
"Let me apologize for knowing english."He pushed his glasses back up on to the bridge of his nose. I know i saw him smirk. Purposfully, he strode back to the car. The driver opened his door, and ours.
"Why be nice? If we know he understands what we are saying." Glaring, Kaitlynne crossed her arms.
"We're going to speak in pig latin from now on."
"Rachael...that gets really hard after a while." Sighing, Katie climbed into the car.We all followed.
"The teachers, at Ouran are already looking at your tests. It's important to know if you passed immediantly. If you didn't, you'll be sent home, with a rather large bill for all the costs."
We probably all pictured our very angry parents at that moment. Shuddering, I unrolled the window.
The breeze was really nice. Washington seemed desolate, compared to the streets of Tokyo. All the streets were swarming with people, and all the buildings were close together.
"I miss Spokane already, you guys." I was already wanting to go back to the quiet state we grew up in.
"Rule number one. No one goes outside alone, and Tia doesn't get to touch the map."
"Thanks Rachael."
Katie and Kaitlynne laughed at either my icy remark, or Rachael's. Kyouya seemed to be writing something down in a notebook as he sat quietly in the front seat.
"Kyouya? When do we get to know our test scores?"It already looked like Kaitlynne was dying from the suspense.
Kyouya didn't bother to turn around in his seat, or look up either."Well, it's about noon right now. I think you will probably get a phone call around four."
"Greeeaat. Four hours of wondering if i have to go home and pay back my parents for the rest of my life." Kyouya chuckled at my venomous remark.
"Lets hope you passed then."
"Liar."Rachael barely whispered it, but he still probably heard it. She then started kicking the back of Kyouya's chair...lightly.
Katie was half-smiling. "Doesn't look like they are going to get along anytime soon."
"We're here girls."
~~~~~~~
The apartment was actually really nice. It was probably located in the lower to middle income area of town. The building had two stories.We were on the top floor, in apartment 205.
The dining area was a little small, but it would work. There was only one tiny bathroom, now, that would be hell in the mornings. There was two fair sized bedrooms, a little cramped kitchen, and a fair sized living room.
A major problem was that the apartment didn't come with furniture. We needed to go food shopping, school shopping, and furniture shopping in acity we didn't know at all. We had four hours to get at least some food, and maybe furniture, if we were lucky.
~~~~~~~
Tamaki had given us a map at the airport. It was really helpful. The map showed us where major things were. The grocery store was our first stop.
We were all starving, and some of us knew we should'nt waste our money on ramen, cough Kaitlynne, Rachael cough.
"I give up!" Rachael made to throw the map, but Katie stopped her. On this busy sidewalk people would trample the map and we'd never find it again.
"Give it here." Katie examined it, then glanced at the road sign.
"We're...two blocks from the grocery store and five from a furniture store." She started to walk ahead of us.
"Thank god. We've been wondering around for almost thirty minutes now." I had a major headache from the severe traffic to our left.
We made it to the grocery store with only a few odd stares. Basic food was what we were here for, but there was quite a few temptations.
"Poooocky!" Kaitlynne and Katie were grabbing a lot of boxes. "Good god you guys! We arn't going to buy all the pocky in the store!" Rachael was shaking her head. She had kind of,taken on the motherly role.
"Two you guys." Grabbing two of the ten boxes in Katies hand, i left to go checkout, throwing them in the cart as i went.
"That's a lot of instant food..." Kaitlynne frowned a bit. Her mom made homemade food, i'm sure she was going to miss it.
"Well, we can get a cook book when we need one." We all could cook, but we weren't familiar with a lot of Japanese cooking.
Finally, we were able to get out of the store. We had grocerys that would last us about a week. and those grocerys had taken two hours to get. It was nearly three thrity.
"Let's get home. We can buy furniture when we know for sure we're staying." Katie had reminded us of the possibility that we wouldn't make it in, and this was all for nothing.
Grabbing all the shopping bags, we started walking for what was now home. A block away from the apartments we noticed, an expensive looking car was sitting outside of our apartment building. It was a black mercedes, and it looked a lot like Tamaki's car.
A crowd of people had started to form around the car. "That car isn't noticable at all. God." Kaitlynne slowed down.
"Let's just run home, maybe they won't notice that we know the owners of that car."
"Katie has a point." Rachael started to jog for the stairs to the upper level. Following behind, we soon saw Tamaki and an older gentlemen. Their faces were grim, not the happy faces we wanted to see.
I unlocked the door and pushed it open. The men walked in, slipping of their shoes. Anticipating the worst, we joined them in the living room.
"Well...?" We probably all looked like we were on the verge of tears.
The older man started to speak. "I'm sorry girls, but it looks like you have too go phone your parents you wont be going...
