[ Oh, Sweet Virtues ] [ Egypt / Bakura ]
Chapter 2 : [ 2 ] [ Oh, Sweet Virtues ] [ Egypt / Bakura ]
It was an odd way that he was looking at me; I hadn't noticed that my necklace was so obviously lain out on my chest until I followed his gaze down. My hand instantly clasped over the jewel and I tried to crawl away from the sick and twisted grin on that man's face. He lifted his far leg and then swung off his horse, compared to me, the thief was massive, a giant, my small stature could be easily broken into tiny pieces with the strength he undoubtedly held. "What's your name?"
What a lovely thing to ask.
Screw you? How would that sound? Eh, probably not the best idea.
"Liva." I replied in a quiet voice, he stepped forward and knelt down only a short distance away from me, he put his filthy hand on my leg and he must have noticed something odd because I was clean, in perfect health and obviously very well taken care of. I jerked my leg away from him only to have one of his little minions push my head as a warning to watch myself. "Let go of me." I demanded, and the thief's brows rose slightly before he smirked and then gripped my leg roughly.
"Where are you from, Liva?" He said my name with odd distaste in which I had never heard before. Being a princess I suppose, I had been long sheltered from things like real cruelty and hatred that every human heart holds. I gritted my teeth trying to ignore his rough touch. It was like sandpaper, unnecessarily rough on my skin, which was soft and smooth, my liquid green eyes glared at him finally.
"No where of importance." I grumbled out, not letting my grip on my necklace loosen in the slightest, he seemed unaffected by the lack of an answer until he noticed I wasn't going to tell him, he pulled on my leg, dragging me towards him in a swift motion.
His eyes were deadly; the look in his eyes and the color of them seemed to scream trouble. "Do you have any idea who I am?" I scowled as he let go of my leg only to grab my arm, he stood up and forced me to my feet.
"I don't know what's more disgusting. You or Egypt." He grinned for a moment.
"Nubian?" For such a bastard he was pretty smart. I nodded my head and he looked to the hand that was covering my necklace, he'd probably take it from me later. He motioned to one of his men to take me, they tied my hands with thick rope and then put me on the front of Bakura's horse, Bakura had mounted right after then they started moving off in the direction I figured they had been going in before Athenais and I had attracted their attention.
It was hours before they stopped, I was hungry and I had complained for at least an hour before they actually stopped. Bakura was obviously angry with me when we stopped and he threw me down into the sand. "You want us to stay?" One of his men asked and Bakura looked at them and then shook his head.
"Leave some food, I need to teach her a lesson on her place." There was laughter among his men and I sat in the sand with a look of frustration. They handed Bakura some food and then took off, my green eyes adjusted to the changing light, it was becoming night and soon there'd be nothing to go by but the stars in the sky and the light of the moon.
When I looked, I noticed that we were next to an Oasis, nothing special but it was a nice sight. I moved my hands around and fiddled with the ropes, Bakura seemed distracted until I threw the rope at him and smiled triumphantly at him. "How the hell...?" I didn't run however, I knew there wasn't any point, I was going to die one way or another here, by his hand or by starvation and I wasn't keen on not eating. He frowned and grabbed me by the arm again and pulled me towards the water, he had a rag in his hand.
When we were at the edge of the water I looked at him, waiting for his absurd instructions that I knew I wasn't going to like. "You're going to wash me." He said in a flat voice, thrusting the rag into my hand as he started undressing.
It was a moment before I started laughing terribly hard. My hands went to my stomach and I just laughed. "It'd take the Nile River to cleanse the filth embedded into your skin." I paused and then glared at him, "But that's not counting the blood on your hands." I could only imagine how many innocent people he had killed, how many lives he had taken with those hands and how many he enjoyed taking. For those moments I was distracted, he had finished undressing and was now only inches from me, glaring down with violent intent in his eyes.
"I don't recall asking your opinion. If you want to live I'd start keeping them to yourself." He turned away from me and then started walking into the water, and I lowered my eyes to the floor. The pressure I was feeling in my mind was overwhelming and the sun was already setting, the sky was decorated with many shades of color and the water was probably very cold. I took a few steps into the water before I stopped; Bakura had fearlessly gone all the way in and was waiting for me.
"It's cold." I grumbled softly.
"And?" He crossed his arms.
"It's freezing."
"So?"
"I--- I'll freeze!"
"Get in or I'm going over there." He said and I didn't move at first, but then he did and I whined loudly before taking one more step in.
"I hate you."
"I don't care."
"I loathe you."
"..."
"I hope you die of some freeze related disease."
He laughed that time and came to me when he noticed I was taking baby steps. He took the rag from me and dunked it into the water, handed it back to me and I sort of, slapped it to his chest and then shivered again before trying to move the rag. Bakura sighed and took the rag from me again, throwing it into the sand before pushing me down into where the water was meeting the dry sand.
"Hell-- it's cold." I squirmed under Bakura who had me pinned with his weight. "IT'S COLD!" I screamed and put his thumb to my throat and added pressure. I tried to talk- but I couldn't. He brushed his nose against my skin and I felt all the muscles in my body become tense. I wasn't sure what he was doing until he tilted his head up and tried to kiss me-- foolish me, I turned my head away from him and he let out an audible growl before standing up, pulling me by my hair and dragging me into the water.
"Ow!" It came as a surprise that suddenly I could speak again, but Bakura didn't let up on the forced and threw me several feet into the water to where the water was to my waist.
