Keep Holding On (Pete Wentz) Finale
Chapter 4 : Keep Holding On (Pete Wentz) Four
The flight seemed to drag on, although it may have been because Kevin kept asking if we were there yet. After about the tenth time, I got pretty annoyed. To shut him up I had told him that if he kept asking, we would never be there, that seemed to shut him up quickly. I was in between Pete and Kevin, and sure it made the flight interesting, but it also pretty annoying, but I guess I have to learn to live with it.
One of the things I hated more then annoying preps, was flying. I was fine once we had gotten into the air, but the landing always made me shaky. Kevin had fallen asleep an hour or so ago and we were landing, my hands started to shake and I was breathing hard.
“Oh God,” I muttered under my breath, my hand clutching the armrest tightly, my knuckles turning white.
I felt a hand gently pry my hand from the armrest, and hold it in their own. My head turned to my left to see Pete staring at me with concern in his honey brown eyes. “You okay?” he asked.
“I hate landing,” I muttered.
“Just think about something else,” he suggested, squeezing my hand slightly.
“What should I think about?” I asked, my voice shaking.
“Think about something that makes you happy,” he moved the arm rest up so that I could get a little closer to him in hopes that this would calm me down. The plane started to shake, making me gasp.
I buried my head into the nape of his neck, just wishing it all away. I took in a deep breath, and his scent seemed to calm me down instantly. He was hugging me towards his body, calming me down and making me like him even more.
“It’s okay,” he cooed into my ear once the shaking had stopped.
I looked up at him, staring into his eyes before my eyes grew wide and I pulled away quickly, “Sorry,” I mumbled.
I stared down at our hands, they were still tangled together. I untangled our fingers and blushed, becoming interested in my ripped jeans instead. I sat there in silence for three minutes, listening to the plain hit the runway and glide to the end of the strip.
I let the breath out that I seemed to be holding. Kevin jerked away, mumbling about killer bunnies under his breath. I laughed lightly before unbuckling my seatbelt and standing up. I stretched my arms over my head before glancing at Kris. I gave her a ‘we need to talk’ look; she nodded her head before turning back to her conversation with Patrick.
I glanced to my left to see Pete staring at the seat in front of him intently. I poked him on the shoulder, causing him to jump slightly, I held in a giggle…yes a giggle, and smiled at him softly.
“Ready to get off?” I asked him quietly.
“Yeah,” he replied, just as softly as I had asked the question.
I smiled at him again before standing up and poking Kevin in the stomach. He glared at me before mumbling under his breath and pouting.
“Sorry Kevin,” I said before hugging him and kissing his cheek lightly. Although I didn’t notice it, Pete had a sad, hurt look on his face as I did this, I may not have noticed, but Kris did. She gave me an odd look before raising her eyebrow slightly before she started to get off the plane.
I followed Fall Out Boy, Kevin, James and Kris out of the plane and to the baggage claim. After waiting a few minutes, we all had our suitcases at our sides. Once the boys had gotten their sunglasses on, we walked out to the pick up area and waited. Suddenly Joe began jumping up and down.
“They sent us the limo!” he said in a girly voice, I held in a laugh and nodded my head in understanding.
The long black limo stopped in front of us and a guy came out of the driver seat and took our bags, loading them into the trunk before opening the door for us. We all slid in and stared at each other before breaking into fits of laughter.
“We didn’t get mobbed my teenies!” Patrick squealed.
“Did you just squeal dude?” James asked.
“No!” Patrick said defensively, blushing a bright red.
“Whatever you say,” James muttered.
“So what’s the agenda boys?” I asked as I crossed my legs.
“Well, we get settled into this apartment thing, then we go and visit the studio,” Andy answered happily.
“We start recording today?” Kris asked quickly.
“No, we look over lyrics and figure out which songs we want on the album,” Pete answered quietly.
“Cool!” I yelled.
“Are there going to be a lot of people there?” Kevin asked.
“Panic! Is going to be there because they’re recording the next album…but that’s it,” Pete replied.
“OH MY GOD!” Kris and I squealed.
“Oh God,” James muttered.
“They rock!” I yelled.
“And they are so hot!” Kris agreed. We looked at each other before giggling like idiots.
“I didn’t know you had a thing for older men Nick,” Kevin smirked.
“Of course I do!” I replied sarcastically.
Kris was watching Pete intently, there was something bothering him, but she just couldn’t place it. He seemed sad, but he had been fine until Nikki started acting like she was in love with the boys from Panic! At the Disco…wait, that’s it! He likes her, but he doesn’t think that she likes him back.
That explains the sad look on his face when Nikki kissed Kevin on the cheek. Kris nodded her head slightly, deciding that she was going to have a talk with Pete once they got settled in. Nikki deserved happiness, and Pete was just the guy to give it to her. But before I gave him my blessing to ahead and date Nikki I had to have a little talk with him.
