Keep Holding On (Pete Wentz) Finale
Chapter 3 : Keep Holding On (Pete Wentz) Three
The week flew by, with getting my cartilage pierced, to practicing with the band. I hadn’t seen the guys of Fall Out Boy in about a week, and I was okay with that, I was busy anyway.
I was writing like crazy, lyrics pouring out of my pen and onto the paper like a waterfall. I don’t know what was inspiring me, but my Muse has been hanging around me for a few days now, but I’m not complaining.
Today was the day that we were going to sign the contract with DecayDance, and I was as nervous as I could be. The guys were going to meet us at our apartment because it was the cleanest, and they were going to be here any minute.
Throwing on a pair of slightly ripped jeans, and a black tank top, I walked into my bathroom that was attached to my room to do my makeup. I did my makeup very lightly, so that I would look more natural then overdone. Although I would never admit it to Kris, I had a tiny thing for Pete. But that would never work out.
He’s five years older then me, he’s famous, and he’s practically my boss! I just wish things could be different, but I know that the circumstances won’t change. I’m a lot of things, selfish is not one of them; I’m not going to jeopardize the band’s dream so that I can have my feelings out in the open. I just hope that I can hold them in, because if I can’t, we’re all screwed.
“Nikki! They’re here!” Kris called. I finished putting on my silver eyeliner before nodding my head in approval. Taking a deep breath, I grabbed my lyric book and a pen before I walked out of my room and into the kitchen.
“Hey guys,” I said once I had entered the kitchen.
“What’s with the notebook?” Pete asked.
“Fred’s been hanging over my shoulder all week,” I replied as I sat down at the table, crossing my hands in front of me.
“Fred?” Patrick asked while he scratched his head.
“Her Muse,” Kris explained with a soft smile.
“Ohhh,” the guys said together.
“Now to business,” Pete said, going into business mode. “You guys will fly out to Chicago and start to record you’re album, once it’s done, you’ll be coming on tour with us, opening shows and what not,” Pete explained.
“Are we sharing a bus?” Kevin asked.
“Yeah,” Joe said happily.
“Then once we’re done with tour, we’ll release you’re album,” Pete finished.
“When do we leave?” I asked.
“A week, if that’s okay with you guys,” Pete said hastily.
“That’s fine with me,” I said.
“Same here,” Kevin said.
“Sure,” James said.
“Whenever is fine with me,” Kris blushed.
“Then all you need to do is sign here,” Pete said, pointing to the paper. I took his pen and signed my full name neatly.
Nicole Maria Dawson
Kristina Jennifer Hartwell
Kevin Scott Johnson
James Charles Masters
After I signed my name, I looked at the people in my band, and smiled. Our dream was coming true, and it all seemed surreal. I looked at Kris and she nodded her head in understanding, she could always read me like a book.
“Thank you so much,” I said softly, barely above a whisper.
Pete nodded his head with a smile on his face.
James suddenly picked me up from my chair and threw me over his shoulder. He started to spin around in circles as I hung over his shoulder.
“James!” I yelled as he continued to spin around.
“Nick! We got a record deal!” he yelled as he started to slow down. He lifted me up and off of his shoulder, setting me back on the ground.
“Kris! Make the world stop spinning!” I complained as I grabbed onto James’ arm to stop myself from falling.
“I still don’t get your fascination with spinning Nick around,” Kris smirked.
“He likes to be the annoying older brother, so he takes it out on me!” I pouted.
“I think this is going to be a fun tour,” Joe joked.
“You guys have to share a bus with two girls, and I bet your not used to that,” Kevin smirked.
“Hey!” Kris and I yelled, hitting him over the head.
“It won’t be that bad, just stay out of their way when their PMSing,” James ducked my hand as I attempted to hit him over the head, so I surprised him with a hard kick to the shin. “See what I mean!” he yelled as he clutched his shin, whimpering in pain.
“Suck it up and take it like a man!” I taunted.
“Screw you Nikki!” he snarled.
“No thanks, I don’t want our relationship to be ruined.”
“Guys, please don’t get into this again,” Kevin pleaded.
“He started it!” I shouted, pointing to James and then pouting.
“Blame the innocent one why don’t ya!” James yelled. He looked very offended by my comment, but I wouldn’t let him get away with being mean to girls. He was being sexist, and I won’t stand for that!
“I’m not blaming myself though dear James,” I smiled widely.
“What?” he asked, confused by the conversation.
“If I was blaming the innocent person, I would be blaming myself, not you, so I in fact was blaming the not so innocent person, i.e. you,” I smirked.
“I didn’t understand a word of that,” he muttered.
“We’re not that bad,” Kris said while rolling her eyes at the boys and me.
“Well, I guess this tour will be interesting…and fun…hopefully,” Patrick said with a blush.
“I think I should start packing,” I said.
“I’ll help you,” Kris smiled as she followed me out of the kitchen and into my room.
Once we got in, we shut the door and smiled at each other knowingly.
“You like Patrick,” I stated.
“And you like Pete,” she retaliated as I blushed.
“Nothing can happen with Pete, he’s our boss and he’s famous! I can’t compete with other girls who throw themselves at him,” I muttered.
“I think he likes you too though,” Kris countered.
“What about you and Patrick? You guys would look so cute together,” I smiled.
“I really like him, but I don’t think that he likes me,” she blushed.
“I bet he does.”
“We’ll see how it goes,” she mumbled.
“Yes we will.”
