Chapter 2 : ~I just love you...Gotta problem with it?~Chapter 3~
Chapter 3- Nightmares and Parties.
I woke up with a start around 3 am. Drenched in sweat and….you know it, screaming. I quickly stifled the scream and layed in bed shaking for about ten minutes. Finally I took my cell phone and dialed Connor's number. After two rings he picked up.
"Hello?" His sleepy voice answered.
"Connor?" By this time I was crying uncontrollably.
"Tara? Are you okay?" He was wide awake now. Probably thinking of ways he could sneak into my bedroom.
"Its nothing. Just a nightmare. About the heights thing." I sniffled, embarrassed into the phone.
"That’s not nothing. Its scary. I'm going to stay on the phone with you until you go to sleep okay?" Connor said soothingly into the phone.
A few minutes later I was almost falling asleep, but something was bugging me. Not knowing what it was, I just settled for the one thing that always calms me down.
"Hey Connor?"
"Yes?"
"Will you sing to me?"
Connor aboligiged and started singing "Five Minutes to Midnight" By Boys like girls. Before the song ended, I was fast asleep, not knowing the words that he spoke when the song was done.
"I love you Tara. And I'll always be there for you."
{First time someone elses POV! Pay attention to whose POV its going to switch to from now on!}
Connor's POV
I listened fearfully into the phone after I had told confessed my love for Tara. All I heard in response was heavy breathing. She had fallen asleep. I sighed and shut the phone angerly. I looked over at the picture of Tara that was on my nightstand. Her black hair, before she got her red highlights, was pushed away from her face, showing her dark blue eyes. She was looking up at the camera, grinning. I remembered that day clearly. It was a little less than a year ago, and Tara and I were finally alone at a park near her house. That was the day I told her that I would never leave her. I am still keeping to that promise no matter what.
Tara's POV
I woke up on Sunday feeling better than ever. After throwing on a pair of skinny jeans and a black top, I walked skipped my way over to Connor's house. He was just now coming out the door, car keys in hand. Connor and I both have cars but in the morning we prefer to ride the bus, because my parents prefer me to not ride in the car with guys in the morning.{Stupid parents}. But either way, I'm free to do what I want on the weekends.
"CONNORRRR!!!!!!" I yelled to him as I threw myself at him for a hug. He grinned and hugged back with all his might. He grabbed my hand and walked dragged me to his gold Honda. After placing me in the front seat, he ran over to the drivers side and sped away.
"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.
"To the mall." He glanced over at me. "My parents are holding a party at our house and I want to bring you. We need to get you a dress."
"Oh No…Not a dress…no no no no." I said in a panic. I hated dresses. Converse, skinny jeans, and a tees are my whole wardrobe.
"Come on Tara…please." Connor looked at me pleadingly. I finally gave in when he threw in a "pretty please".
"Fine. But only for tonight. Then I burn it." I said stubbornly as we got out of the car. He took my hand again, and dragged me into store after store until we finally agreed on a dress. It was strapless and black. It had red trimming on it, which matched the highlights in my hair. As we were paying for it I reached for my wallet but Connor beat me too it. He grabbed my hand and pulled out his own wallet. After paying for the dress and exiting the store, I figured out that our hands were still linked together. I saw all the envious glances that girls, {and one guy}, kept sending me and it took me a second to process why. Connor and I looked like a couple. My face turned red as I dropped Connor's hand to reach into my pocket. "We should get going. I have to get home to get ready."
Connor shrugged and followed me to his car. When he turned on the ignition, "Crush Crush Crush" came on by Paramore. I idily started singing along. When we pulled into my driveway, Connor looked at me strangely and then his face took on a mischivious look.
"What Connor…?" I said slowly.
"Nothing. Nothing at all." He leaned over and gave me a half hug. He looked at the clock which read 4:45.
"Be at my house in an hour kay?" He winked at me and then gave me the bag with the dress in it. "And blow everyone away."
I got out of the car and walked to my front door. I turned around before going inside to see Connor blowing a kiss in my direction before driving off. I grinned as I ran up the stairs. "I was going to blow everyone away.
50 minutes later- Connor's POV
I waited anxiously at the front door of my two story house for Tara. Tugging on my tie I saw her black convertible drive up. She stepped out of the car and nearly took your breath away. She looked beautiful. Her hair was down but the red highlights were curled. She had on black heels to go with the dress. She twirled around in front you and said,
"Did I blow you away, Mr. Connor?"
"Yes Ma'am!" I looped my arm through her's and braced myself for that night.
Tara's POV
I looked nervously around the room. It was full of Connor's parent's friends. They were all looking at me suspiciouly and I looked around despertly for Connor or someone my age. Suddenly I heard a voice behind me. I turned to see a really cute guy behind me. He had brown hair and dark blue eyes. "Hello, what Is your name?" He shook my hand politely.
"T-Tara." I stuttered out nervously. This guy looked high class. Usually I hated snobby people but for some reason, I was dying to impress him.
"Tara…." The guy repeated my name back to me and then grinned. "Exuse me, I didn’t introduce myself. My name is Brandon Gregery…. Connor's Cousin."
"Nice to meet you." I blushed deeply. Suddenly, I heard my name being called from the stage.
"And we have a special performance tonight. Tara Monea will perform a Paramore song for the audience." Connor's voice rang out. My face immediately turned from beet red to pale white. I found myself being guided to the stage by Brandon. He led me all the way up the stairs until I was standing next to Connor. I looked at him with wide eyes as he handed me the mike. "Blow everyone away." He said as he kissed my cheek.
For some reason, that kiss got me into gear. I had preformed this song many times in front of Connor and he always said he was going to do this. I actually grinned as the music started up.
"I got a lot to say to you
Yeah I got a lot to say
I noticed your eyes are always glued to me
Keeping them here and it makes no sense at all
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies
Crush...Crush...Crush...
Crush, crush (1,2,3,4!!!)
Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone
Just the one two of us is counting on
That never happens, I guess I'm dreaming again
Let's be more than this
If you wanna play it like a game
Well come on, come on let's play
Cause I'd rather waste my life pretending
Than have to forget you for one whole minute
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies
They taped over your mouth
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies
Crush...Crush...Crush...
Crush, crush (1,2,3,4!!!)
Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone
Just the one two of us is counting on
That never happens, I guess I'm dreaming again
Let's be more than this now
Rock and roll baby, don't you know that
We're all alone now, I need something to sing about
Rock and roll honey, (hey) don't you know baby
We're all alone now, I need something to sing about
Rock and roll honey, (hey) don't you know baby
We're all alone now, give me something to sing about
Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone
Just the one two of us is counting on
That never happens, I guess I'm dreaming again
Let's be more than, no
Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone
Just the one two of us is counting on
That never happens, I guess I'm dreaming again
Let's be more than, more than this
Ohh, mmm..."
As I finished the song, applase shook the room. I blushed and took a quick bow before handing the mike to Connor. Instead of speaking into it, He leaned over to me and quickly brushed his lips against mine. I walked off the stage, everything muted. The rest of the party went by in a blur until everyone was leaving. I was just going out the door when I saw Connor. He was heading twords me, a smile on his face. I quickly exited and walked quickly to my car. I was too tired to say hello.
Well, that’s what I'll tell him tomorrow.Did you like this story? Make one of your own!
