Scotch vs. Wine .:00:.
Chapter 2 : Scotch vs. Wine .:01:.
I groaned as the alarm clock set off too early for me to even begin thinking about caring.
10 minutes later, I dragged myself out of bed, my strawberry hair limping to the side I had slept on. My phone vibrated on the table beside my bed. I dragged my feet back over and sat down, limply grabbing the phone.
"Mornin' sunshine."
"Johnny... it's 6 in the morning. Why are you calling me? No. Better yet, why are you even up?" I groaned, falling back onto my pillow.
"Aw, that's not fair, Soph, I always want to hear your sleep deprived croak first thing in the morning" I could just hear his smirk through the phone.
"Alright, John, you win. What's up?" I was still too tired to care that he was cracking jokes at me this early in the morning.
"To be honest..." He paused. "I really don't remember." I lay there, staring up at the ceiling, trying my hardest to keep my eyes open. "You still there, Soph?"
I took a deep breath. "Yeah. I'm just trying so hard not to kill you right now."
"Oh. Well... okay. I'll see you in a few hours then." I groaned and hung up my phone.
Dragging myself out of bed, I did my normal routine, ate breakfast, and was out the door by 7.
Climbing into my truck, I pulled out of the driveway, and headed to school, almost forgetting to open the gate as I drove out.
Arriving at school, I made my way into the cafeteria, ignoring the usual stares I got from everyone else. I grabbed a coffee and sat down, laying my head down and trying to fall asleep.
"Hey, hey, Soph." Someone yelled in my ear, causing me to jump up and punched Johnny in the arm. "Hey, lay off. What're you trying to kill me for? Huh?" He laughed and slid into the seat beside me.
"Oh, I don't know, Johnny. Maybe the fact that you called me at bloody 6 in the morning for no reason." I rolled my eyes and sipped my coffee.
"Hey, lighten up, sunshine. I had something important to tell you, but I forgot."
"Okayy, so... what was it?"
"Uhm... I forget." I groaned and grabbed my things.
"Whatever. I'm going to class. I'm too tired to deal with this right now."
"Aww, don't be like that Sunshine!" He called after me and grabbed his own books and followed me. "So what's on the agenda for this weekend?" He asked, coming up beside me.
"I don't know. You're usually the one who makes all the plans, Johnny, so you tell me."
"Hm... well, I don't know..." Before I could hear the rest of his answer, someone grabbed me around the waist and threw me over their shoulder, and I screamed, starting to pound on his back.
"What the fuck!? Who the fuck is this!? Fucking put me down right now!!" I screamed, looking up as best I could to see a few pairs of familiar legs, but there was on pair missing.
"Matt I swear to God if you don't put me down, I'm going to kill you!" I started pounding on his back harder.
I heard the group laugh.
"Better be careful, Matt, she may blow your head off today." Johnny laughed.
"Shut. Up. Johnny." I clenched my teeth, and sighed as Matt let me down.
I glared at the group.
"What's wrong, leprachaun, is your hair burning your head?" Matt laughed, giving me a hug.
That's the problem with my friends, though.
They're obnoxious Italian mobsters.
No. Literally. They really are. I promise.
