Patrick stared and sighed wearily at the beautiful nightsky before him. He watched as the beautiful bright stars twinkled and danced in the moonlight. The sky itself seemed to shimmer and ripple against the deep velvet blue of the night. To others this would've been the most beautiful, gorgeous night they'd ever laid eyes on; To Patrick, it was the worst night of his life.
Another sigh escaped his lips and he slowly turned to look at his soon-to-be ex-lover, Andy. His eyes started to shimmer with up-coming tears. The silence was killing him, one of them had to talk sooner or later. "Andy..." His name escaped Patrick's lips barely above a whisper. His lover looked at him trying to hide the warm tears that threatened to escape his choclate-brown eyes. "Hmm?" Was all Andy could manage to reply. Patrick quickly looked down below the Hotel's balcony at the shimmering dew-wet grass. "We're...gonna have to...break up...arent we?" Patrick managed to choke out. Andy stayed silent. He couldn't bear to look at Patrick. He couldn't handle seeing those beautiful eyes of his brimmed with tears, or his soft pink lips quiver and quake with sadness. How could I let this happen?! Andy mentally yelled at himself and clenched his fists. He remembered how it all started...
Just the other night he and Patrick, still happily together and in love, had decided to go see a movie together The perfect date for a perfect night, or so they both thought, "Okay," Andy remembered Pete telling them, "Just be careful. The godamn paparazzi and media are everywhere!" Pete laughed, Andy and Patrick smiled and understood. They then left with a wave of their hands out the door.
Andy remembered every detail that had taken place in the theatre. His hand rested on Pat's thigh and he was rubbing it slowly with his thumb, while his big brown eyes were still glued to the screen. Then out of nowhere he felt a hand gently turn his cheek and he came face to face with Patrick's beautiful hazel eyes. Andy smirked and leaned over to place a kiss on Pat's lips. Patrick kissed back, eyes closed, arms around his lover's neck, while Andy slowly snaked his tattooed arms around Patrick's waist. Thank God the movie had been out in the theatre for awhile, there was barely anyone there...or so Andy thought.
"FLASH!"
They both quickly parted and looked around nervously. "I could've sworn I just saw a flash." Andy thought out loud. The two lovers looked at each other and shrugged. Must've been from the movie They both thought, then returned back to the movie unaware of the terrible events to come...
Patrick Stump and Andy Hurley, of Fall Out Boy, caught making out at local movie theatre!
Patrick read the newspaper headline over and over again, mouth agape in shock. "How could we have been so stupid?!" Andy managed to breathe out, also in shock. "Caught by a goddamn 15-year old girl!" he shook his head. Pete and Joe were silent, unsure of what to say or do. "We should've been more careful. Patrick said quietly, eyes starting to swell with tears, "We should've been-" Patrick choked out and began to sob. Andy didn't know what to do, all he could was hold and comfort his lover, assuring him everything was gonna be okay.
Andy could see it all happening now. Soon everyone of their fans would know, and they would probably lose them, except for the few loyal ones. People would probably glare and throw trash at them on the streets. People would boo them off stage and Joe and Pete would end up being as guilty as they were, all because Andy and Patrick were in love...
"Andy?"
He heard Patrick's angelic voice call out his name. Andy blinked hard and brought himself back to reality If only it had been a dream. Andy shook his head in confusion, "I-I'm sorry...what?" Patrick began to laugh a little, but stopped and frowned again. "I said, what are we gonna do?" Andy looked into Patrick's sad-twinkling eyes, then quickly looked away. Andy sighed, "You know what we have to do..." His voice began to quiver and it came out to a whisper, "We-we cant be together anymore." Andy choked out. Patrick said nothing. His only reply was a single tear slowly rolling down his cheek. Andy blinked his own tears away, You have to be strong. he told himself, Do this for th others, this is the only way. He squeezed his eyes shut trying to stop the tears. Andy couldn't bear it any longer. He took one last lok at Patrick as his lover, because after this, they could only look at each other as friends. Andy slowly turned away and began to walk back to the Hotel. "Wait!" Patrick yelled after him, Andy stopped and turned around. Patrick's arms were outreached toward him, telling him to stop. Andy only stared at him in confusion. "Wait, please..." Patrick clasped his hands together beggingly and continued with plead in his voice, "Could I have just one last kiss?" Patrick's eyes were red with warm tears. Andy started to slowly walk toward the younger, beautiful, tear-stained cheeked man. He cupped Patrick's cheeks in his hands, which became warm and sticky with tears. Andy saw no harm in it, even though he was sure it wasn't best idea. But He couldn't resist Patrick's plea. Even his eyes, though they were bloodshot and wet with tears, were still as beautiful as ever. Andy leaned in, his lips milimeters away from Patrick's soft lips, he started to breathe heavily, his heart raced and began to beat quicker in his chest. They got closer and closer and- "STOP!" Andy and Patrick parted and quickly looked in the direction of the voice. There they saw Pete and Joe were standing side-by-side staring at the two almost ex-lovers. "P-pete? Joe?" Patrick stuttered out, "Wh-what are you two doing here? Were you watching this whole time?" His eyes wide with surprise. "Yes." Joe simply replied, "But-but why?" Patrick asked, his eyes as big as saucers now. "You can't do this," Pete said sternly, "We won't let you." "What about the media and the reporters?" Andy asked, eyes searching his two friends with confusion. "Screw the goddamn media..." Pete said with a snarl. "Who cares what they think? Who gives a shit about what they say?! When have WE ever cared?!" Pete shouted, He walked back and forth like a fierce jungle-cat about to attack its prey. "Besides, you two are happy together." Joe added then continued, "We'd rather have you two be happy then being depressed and moping about in your rooms!" Andy and Pat looked away from each other. Pete stopped pacing, a smirk began to play upon his lips. "Besides, you two know as well as I do, the two of you can't stay away from each other for more then TWO seconds." "What are you talking about?" Andy glared at pete menacingly, this only made Pete smirk wider. "See for yourself." He grinned and nodded to their hands." Confused, Andy and Pat looked at each other and blinked. Then looked at their hands and blushed beet-red.
Their hands were clinging to each other, fingers intertwined, not wanting to let go.
Andy sighed, Pete was right. Andy knew as well as anyone else on that balcony, he couldn't stand two seconds away from Patrick, he loved him too much. He didn't want to lose the only love of his life over something as stupid as this.
Patrick's cheeks were still red from embarrasment.
They had been caught.
Patrick was about to let go and walk away, when he felt Andy cup his chin with his big, strong, hands. He turned and looked in to Andy's eyes, their eyes semmed to dance and shimmer in the moonlight above them. "Pete's right" Andy finally said, "We can't just throw all of this away." Patrick didn't know what to say, he only stood there, speechless, Andy continued "I mean who cares what anyone thinks? So we love each other, that's not a crime is it?" Patrick looked away but Andy gently turned his face so they were looking at each other again, "Patrick, I love you, I don't ever want to let you go..." Andy's eyes started to brim with tears, but he blinked them away. Patrick's eyes widened, he knew Andy was right.
Their eyes bored into each other as they stared, "I love you too." he whispered. And with that Patrick leaned in and placed a kiss on Andy's lips. Andy only smiled, then pulled Patrick closer and deepened the kiss. Patrick couldn't help but let out a small giggle. He loved the way Andy's moustache hairs tickled his own lips. He sighed happily into the kiss, Andy took this as an oppurtunity and slipped his tongue in, and before they knew it, they were kissing the same way they did as when they had first got together.
Pete and Joe watched happily and smiled with accomplishment. Pete placed a hand on Joe's back and gave it a quick pat. "C'mon." Pete smiled and turned Joe around, hand still on his back. "Let's leave them alone." And with that they quietly snuck back into the house, careful not to disturb them, and shut the door leaving Andy and Patrick kissing underneath the most beautiful night of their lives.
