'We need to rescue someone. Now come on before they interrupt us.' We walked away from Danyal, Pendrix, and Xavier as I told them we would catch up later.
"Okay now what the hell do you want?" ? "I want your help." He gave me a questioning look.
"Trust me she's in there." I didn't say any more but I could tell he was still waiting for more.
"I bet she's at home. Why the hell would she be here any way?" he mumbled as he leaned against the wall of the house he was standing next to. I punched him in the side of his head.
"Would you just shut up! I know she's there because I can hear her."
"How the hell can you do that?!"
"I don't know."
"That's really weird" I groaned. I was about punch him again when Jessie ran out of the building. we started following her but she soon realized someone was following her so she started running. We followed her until she turned into an ally, then we waited for her to calm down a bit. We walked silently down the ally until we found her asleep in a corner. her right arm was draped over her stomach, her head was facing the entrance as the left side of her face rested on the cool brick wall, and her left leg was tucked behind her right as they were half bent. Her breathing was steady and deep.
I knelt in front of her and Girr gave me a nervous look. 'Relax. I'm not going to do anything to her.' I moved closer to her so I could pick her up more easily. Just as I placed my arm behind her back, but before I could lift her, she spoke. "Why were you following me?" I backed away from her and Girr knelt down next to me. 'She's not awake, is she?' I looked at him. 'Of course she is! Don't say a word though we can't let her know who we are.' I looked back at her. 'Not yet at least.' We didn't answer her question, even when she asked again. Soon her arua changed and her eyes shot open. They were so strange. Her normally beautiful green eyes were now a deeper blood red than ours and the whites turned coal black. Girr freaked and knocked her out. I couldn't stop staring at her eyes."Hey! Wake up and help me out!" Girr half yelled as he lifted at her up. I still wasn't out of my daze but I got her into our car all the same. Girr drove home as I held her in the back.
"I don't care about that!" I finally yelled out loud. I froze then as Jessie shifted in my arms. Something in her pocket started to buzz. I carefully pulled out her cell phone and read the caller id. My anger grew at the thought that this man who dared to call himself her father would call her, my anger was so bad that I crushed the phone im my hand. I heard Girr sigh as he rolled down the window to the left of me. I threw it out the window and smiled sheepishly, like a kid who just got in trouble for something he did and was proud of it.
~~FF~~
Girr opened the doors as I carried Jessie up to a spare bedroom. We put her on the second story of our four story home in a forest near a lake, I forget which one. 'Her clothes are so dirty from sitting in that ally. Do you think we should...' Girr ended before he say any more as we stared at each other, blushing at the thought of doing what he was suggesting.
"Amy!" we shouted in union. Amy walked in and saw Jessie in my arms. She knew what to do and was already getting fresh clothes and a towel. She took Jessie from me and shooed us out.
"I guess we better tell the others what we did." Girr sighed
"Don't worry, I already did." I smiled at him.
"What?!"
"If you keep yelling then you will! She needs her sleep so she can heal." I told him in deadly but calm voice.
It's been three days. I think that's enoughto heal even for a human!" Danyal punched him in the face and we all stared in shock at him because he's not violent unles he has a good reason.
"That's enough, Xavier! I'm not going to let you stand there and insult her like that. She needs to gather her strength any ways after what happened from what Girr and Grey has describe."
"What are you talking about Danyal? Xavier didn't insult her."
"He called her human." He spat out the word like it tasted bitter in his mouth.
"What the fuck are you ranting on about?!" Xavier yelled at him.
"Jessie's not just any human, she's the Angel of Life and Death and Eric is after her powers." We glanced at each other then all shouted at once "What?! How do you know this?!"
"I did research after you two told us what happened. When i found out what she was, I got a theory about why Eric would suddenly appear in the human world then, just as suddenly, disappear again. So I looked through her bag and found this." He pulled a small book out of his pocket. "This confirms my theory." The book was something we all knew. It was only sold in the underworld. It was Demons of the World.
At this little information about Eric, I went to Jessie's room to check up on her. I knocked on the door, but when no answer came, I walked in. The bed was empty and made up. the bathroom andthe closet were empty too. Then I heard the squeak of the front door. I rushed down stairs and accedently knocked over a vase, the crash echoing through the whole house.
