Pitch Black {A Sirius Black Love Story} Chapter 39: Observing

Alright, so the beginning of this got deleted in the change because it was a draft and all my drafts disappeared, so I'm going to have to start from scratch. Let’s hope this works ^.^ On the bright side, I've planned out this story until the very end (about chapter 50-55) and intend to have a sequel...but you didn't hear that from me *wink*

The next few months went by smoothly. We continued to work and plan for the wedding (well, now weddings). James, Remus and I began having to work slightly later hours. We were apparently being requested...it sounded strange to say it like that. When you request something, it tends to be some sort of food item or beverage, not a human being. We made jokes with each other about it (calling each other various edibles) but in all honesty, we were all flattered. We were trying incredibly hard and it was nice to be recognized.

"So what are you two doing today?" I asked Sophie, standing behind with my arms tightly entangling around her.

She giggled as I started kissing her neck, "We're...just...Sirius, will you stop that? I can't consentrate on what I'm saying."

I laughed, "Do you really want me to stop?"

She hesitated, "Well...no, but-"

I smirked in satisfaction and started kissing her again, "So...you were...saying?"

"Um...Lily and I are uh...mmm," she moaned in delight and I started kissing harder, "Sirius...."

I spun her around quickly and started kissing her lips, "Tomorrow...it's Halloween tomorrow."

She nodded, "Yes, I know," she pressed her lips against mine for a moment before continuing, "We're still going to that party, correct?"

"I think so," I answered, then paused, "Do you realize what tomorrow is?"

She raised an eyebrow, "It's Halloween...I thought we just established that."

"I don't mean that. I mean that tomorrow is the anniversary of our first real kiss...at the Costume Ball, remember?"

"How could I forget?" she chuckled, "Did I hurt you when I ran out?"

"Deeply," I told her, "But you could make it up to me with another kiss."

She giggled and kissed me again, pulling away right when it was getting really good, "What were you thinking when I said I had to see Dumbledore?"

"Honest?"

"No, I want you to lie to me," she remarked sarcastically.

"Well...I thought that you were thinking I was going to be like that guy...I assumed that you thought of me just like him...that I would hurt you."

"I knew you wouldn't hurt me..."

"I know that now," I chuckled and kissed the top of her head, "So really, what are you and Lily doing today?"

"That is for us to know and you to find out," she grinned.

"Oh come on!" I begged.

"Nope," she shook her head, "I was going to tell you, but you distracted me so now you have to stay clueless...not that that's very hard for you."

I gave out a fake gasp, "Sophie soon-to-be-Black, how dare you insult me?"

She laughed and kissed my cheek before waving and apparating away to Lily's.

*Sophie's POV*

"Come on Lil," I called up the stairs, "We've got dress shopping to do!"

"I'm on my way down," she yelled back.

I heard footsteps prancing down the stairs and turned to see Lily beaming at me. We quickly linked arms and apparented to Diagon Alley. We were still shopping for bridesmaid dresses and it was nearly December (idk if I've already done this scene...I'm really sorry if I have)! But this time we were shopping for my own dress for Lily's wedding. She'd asked her sister to be her bridesmaid, but she'd declined much to neither of our surprise. Suddenly, we came across a little dress shop that looked absolutely perfect. It took a few tries, but we finally found the perfect dress for Lily.

(I'll send you a link to it later...this new Quizilla is being stupid.)

"Black?" she asked.

I nodded, "I've always hated the idea of black for a bridesmaid dress, but I want it to seem kind of seasonal. But you can't wear red since it would clash with your hair. And there aren't any good winter green bridesmaid dresses...and you obviously can't where white since I am, so I figure that black is our only option. Besides, you look positively stunning in it."

She laughed, "Thanks...do you think you're cousin will like it?"

I shrugged, "She's not picky...I asked Mrs. Potter to be my other bridesmaid, by the way. She's been helping us plan so much I thought that it was the least I could do. She was ecstatic, haha."

"That was nice of you."

"I thought so...now what dress should you get for your wedding?" I poked her a little and she giggled, blushing like mad.

"Goodness, I'm so nervous, but excited at the same time, you know?"

"Ha, do I know? I'm the one getting married in less than a month and a half, remember?"

"Point taken."

I sighed, "I'm nervous too, but I'm so happy that I hardly feel nerves at all anymore."

"I'm happy too," she assured me, "Extremely happy!"

I paused, soaking up the moment, "Look at us, Lily..."

She raised an eyebrow in confusion so I continued, "We're both getting married to the most wonderful men on the planet. We have great jobs. We're all contributing something to the world. We're really happy..."

She agreed, "It all seems too good to be true. I mean, in the midst of all of this destruction of war, we can still find happiness. It really gives you hope, doesn't it?"

I smiled, "It truly does."

*Sirius' POV*

James, Remus, Peter and I waited in the living room for the girls to get down. Of course it took a while, but we forgave them the second we saw how incredible they looked. I was sure that James was going to wet himself when Lily pressed her hands against his chest and kissed him. I chuckled at his pitiful expression until Sophie did the same to me and I almost passed out.

As they giggled in accomplishment, Sophie asked, "So are we read to go to the party?"

James nodded, "We're been ready for almost a half hour. But someone had to hold us up and take forever getting ready."

"Oh..." Sophie nodded, "Peter, what have we told you about getting ready too slowly? Tisk tisk, and I thought you knew better."

Wormtail looked very confused, so I patted him on the back, "Forget it. They're just messing with us."

"Haha, remind me to tell you about that time when Phillipe's little brother unplugged all of the old people," Sophie randomly said.

Lily laughed, "Oh, yeah, that trickster."

"Alright, you've officially lost me," Moony said.

"Well, Sirius mention messing around and I just thought about this one time when Phillipe's littler brother...OH! Remember that time when Phillipe's little brother turned all of the traffic lights green?"

"Haha, that was a good one," Lily laughed.

"You confuse me," I told Sophie, pulling her in for a kiss.

"Mmm..." she whispered, "And you dazzle me."

"That's my job," I told her with a smirk and a hair flip.

Rolling her eyes, she linked arms with me and we all aparented to the party that was being held by one of our fellow Aurors. It was a costume party, so we were all going in the same costumes we'd been in before. We looked the exact same, but so many things had changed. For one, instead of hating Prongs with a passion, Lily was now engaged to him. And instead of Sophie being afraid to kiss me, we were about to get married. (Snogging constantly throughout the party was just a benefit.) ^.^
