"So you just assumed Victoria got the wrong information?" I demanded.
"On normal circumstances, I wouldn't hesitate in believing her. But Katerin did say bad rumors were spread and I guess her "source" got the wrong story."
"How sure are you that Katerin isn't lying to you? She might've found out that Victoria or someone was trying to find information on her and lied to you first. Don't let that girl blind you, Kakashi. Use that brain of yours, you know that Victoria's information is always reliable," with that said, I walked away. Hopefully he gets the message.
~Kakashi's POV~
As Asuma's words sunk in, I began walking to the Hokage's office to drop off the mission report. I kept thinking of why this is happening to me. My best friend and I are hardly speaking and I don't know if I should believe her. Wow, I'm stuck between my best friend and my girlfriend, isn't that wonderful?
After dropping off the mission report to the Hokage, I decided to ask his opinion. He is Victoria's father after all, technically anyways.
"Lord Hokage, is Victoria's information always 100% reliable?"
"Well, that would depend on what it was."
"What if I said gossip-wise?"
""Hmm," he thought for a second, "That would be a questionable area of course. It would also depend on the other person you were comparing information with. But I must say, she knows the truth of many things."
I bowed and answered, "Thank you, sir."
On my way home, I contemplated how many times Victoria gave me a wrong answer on purpose or the wrong information. My conclusion was: So far, never. I also took into consideration the fact that Katerin was not from the leaf Village and most of her past is unknown to us. Maybe if I try to learn more about Katerin and where she's from, it'll help me with this. Asuma's words continued to repeat in my mind "Don't let that girl blind you, Kakashi."
I've heard many people say that love can blind people, but I never thought much about it. I still don't know what I'm going to do. If I'm lucky, things will work out easily.
~Saturday Afternoon~ Your POV
During my Saturday morning, I was bored so I decided to clean up the house a little. By the time I had finished, it was nearly 2pm. Daddy told me that I could have the day off since I hurt my ankle yesterday and it was still stiff. I protested but he stayed adamant. Sometimes it was difficult having the Hokage as your father.
As I was heading outside, I noticed a note under the welcome mat. It was addressed to me so I went back inside and opened it. The envelope didn't say anything more than my name, but the letter was just shocking. Hello Princess, I know it has been so long since we've met face to face and I want to see how much you've grown. Maybe you might even join me on my travels and be reacquainted. So many things have occurred since my departure and I'm sure you're curious as to why I'm starting to contact you only now. Hopefully you will forgive me and give your Uncle a hug. Outside of the leaf Village, about 5 miles away is where I will be waiting. Please come alone. J With love, Your Uncle Maru.
"No way," I said flatly. The shock of actually hearing from him completely overwhelmed me. I was probably standing there with the paper in my hand for about 5 minutes until the initial shock wore off. I had no idea what I was going to do. Should I meet him, leave him there and ignore this, or do I tell my father. Okay, I eliminated the last one. This was my problem; I needed to deal with this myself. After weighing both pros and cons of meeting with Orochimaru, I settled on meeting him. The biggest reason was needing to know why he had contacted me, now of all times.
I took a deep breath and relaxed myself. So I've decided to meet him, what am I going to do now? An idea came to me; I needed to talk this over with my friends. I need them to support me with this decision or at least know what I'm going to do.
