If looks could kill {I would've died a million times!}
Chapter 7 : Party status- Crashed
"You can do it!" you yelled, realizing her health was running low.
"Hmph! Everyone knows guys are better than girls at video games!" Blake yelled. "Show her whose boss!"
"What? Now you have to win!" you yelled. Val nodded and proceeded to mashing buttons like you did.
"Ha! I win! I win! Now come! Let's go make sandwiches! I'm hungry!"
"I can't believe I lost to my girlfriend!" Mack yelled as he was dragged to the kitchen.
"Told ya!" you yelled.
"Play me! I'll win this time! Same rules!"
"Fine!" you yelled. There was no way you were going to lose.
"Ha!"
"I can't believe I lost!" you cried. You weren't good at gambling.
"Come on!" he said, pulling you up the stairs.
"You're not serious?" you asked when he led you to a room.
"Do you want to talk?" he asked, pulling you into his lap. You nodded. "Okay, but you'll have to kiss me first! I did win!"
"Oh my god!" you yelled. You kissed his cheek and smiled.
"Oh no you don't!" he yelled, leaning in and kissing you passionately. You started kissing back and realized he was on top of you, but you trusted him. You heard a growl and a howl, like a dog...a big dog. You tried to look, but you felt something sting your bottom lip.
"Blake...?" You could feel yourself falling to sleep. The last thing you saw was Jake and then a man, but Jake was gone when the man came. You tried to keep watching, but you heard someone whisper, "Sleep" to you and you did just that.
Blake's P.O.V. You were kissing Amber and it felt so good, but you heard growling and a howl and your blood went cold. You looked out of the corner of your eye and saw Jake. You growled back and he transformed to his original form: a vampire. You didn't want Amber to see this, so you released your fangs and bit her bottom lip, releasing a drug from your fang. You told her to sleep though your mind and stood up, facing Derek.
"What do you think you're doing?" he asked angrily. You gulped.
"Having fun before she is no longer in my possession. You have your whole life with her. All I get to be is someone who helps with the house. It was just a kiss. I didn't do anything with her. I think you'd know since you pretended to be her dog all of these years, Jake." you said to Derek. "I wonder if she ever noticed that when she went to sleep you turned into your real self and cuddled with her? But you were careful, so I guess not. I bet you got to see her naked every day, right? Plus she kisses you a lot. What is one little kiss?"
"Two kisses. You're lucky. And I'll admit that I didn't just get kisses as a dog. Maybe I was a little reckless, but it was worth it to sleep beside her and feel her lips on mine. I do feel sorry that you cannot be with her, but I'd have to give her up and I can't do that. Plus, you know her father wanted me to be with her. You are barely a vampire. Her mother wouldn't want her with almost a full human like you, right? She wanted her daughter to be with a vampire, like the girl's father. I am an old family friend and you are...Blake. It's better this way." He finally finished and you sighed. He was right, but he made you feel ashamed. At least you would see her when she was with Derek.
"Just take her. But know what I find funny? Raychel and Haylie seemed upset since they found out who she was. Valerie was faking it. I know she really hates her. I don't know why, but she truly does. Not that you'd care. I mean, you get the girl, right?" You were stalling and it was obvious. He smiled.
"Yes. I do." You watched as he walked to the sleeping girl and picked her up, as if she were his bride. But soon she would be. You watched as he walked to the door, actually sad for the first time in years.
"And...I will expect everyone to be home for dinner" was all he said before walking out. You ran out and peeked around the corner. You saw Haylie struggling against Kaleb's grasp, trying to get to Amber, yelling at Derek to let her live a normal life. She gave up and cried into Kaleb's chest as Derek walked down a set of stairs.
"Raychel. Move." you heard Derek demand. You knew she wasn't going to budge. You ran down the stairs and saw Raychel crying and on her knees.
"Yeah. Let her go. She was a burden anyway!" Val yelled, Mack kissing her collarbone.
"Please don't take her! It's not fair! She should have a normal life!" she pleaded, ignoring Val.
"If she had a normal life she would kill herself when you all came back home with me. What is better: being loved or being heartbroken and dying due to suicide?" Raychel slumped and he walked right past her. "You will all live in the same house as her, I don't get it. Either way, I shall see you all at home." And just like that he was gone. And so was the love of your life...
Back to Amber's P.O.V. When you finally woke you turned on your side and looked to the clock. It was eight in the afternoon? Then you realized you weren't in a familiar room. You were in a bed in a huge room painted crimson red. You looked under the sheets and saw a fancy black dress with gold trim and blushed. Someone had changed you. You felt a hand rubbing your leg and became aware of the body pressed on your back. Did Blake and I...? Eeew! But then I wouldn't be wearing clothes.
You kissed his cheek softly and removed his hand delicately and got up. You wandered down a few sets of stairs and eventually saw everyone. Blake's eyes looked a little red...Blake?! But he was up in... Who was that? You shook it off and walked into the room, yawning.
"Hi, everybody" you said, sitting beside Blake. You laid your head on his shoulder and he scooted away. You looked at him funny and then to everyone else. "What's the matter?" Val started laughing and everyone but Mack glared at her.
"When did you get up, Amber?" a boy asked, rubbing his eyes, a slight blush on his face from yawning. He sat down between Blake and you and put his arm around your shoulder pulling you closer.
"Um...excuse me, but who are you?" you asked as innocently as possible. He looked shocked at first but he smiled.
"Please forgive me for I forgot to tell you my name. I am Derek Kasumi. However you may know me as Jake, I believe it was." You looked at him through wide eyes.
"You're a dog? Jake? But that means you saw me...I kissed...Jake?!" You couldn't put your words together. You heard Val laugh even more. "What's so funny?" you asked. Derek glared and she shut up. He obviously had the authority.
"I think we should talk in private. Blake, bring dinner up to my room when its done. Come on." You were glad that he didn't call you "love" like Blake for you know that it wouldn't have settled with you, but you did follow him, partly because he had your hand and partly because you wanted to know what was going on.
"You are my dog?" you asked while trying to sit down next to Derek, but he pulled you onto his lap.
"If you want me to be. But that's beside the point. I wasn't the one who came up with the idea. Your mom wanted you to have someone and your dad wanted me to watch over you. Didn't you ever wonder how 'Jake' lived so long? Jake was there as soon as you were born. That means he'd be sixteen. No dog lives that long." Derek pointed out, not a sense of warmth in his voice.
"Then, were you, like, three when you became Jake? How did you become a dog and now be a human?" you asked.
"No, I was sixteen years younger when I did. And right now I'm not a human. I am over a hundred years old. I'm a vampire." He flashed his canines and you gasped. You tried backing away but he lashed out and caught your wrist. You whimpered and struggled to get free. "Calm down, Amber. You know, Blake is one-fourth vampire, if it helps. And Haylie and Raychel are half. And Val, Kaleb, and Mack are all full vampires, like me. Are we so bad?" he asked, pressing his lips against your neck.
You shivered and wondered why your own father would want a vampire to watch over you. Did he want him to kill you or something?
"Please. Don't do that," you begged.
"Do what?" he asked in mockery, revealing his fangs.
"That!" you shouted, shivering. You felt two sharp ends slightly poke your neck. It pricked your skin and you yelped. You buried your face in his shirt. "Please stop," you pleaded in a muffled voice. You felt his tongue lick your neck and you shivered yet again. You felt his head rise and let out a sigh of relief. You looked up at him and he was licking his lips. You looked up at him terrified and he smiled.
"You are so cute scared. And here I thought your smile was something else. Oh well... What is taking him?" he asked himself, holding you tightly. As long as he wanted to eat food and not your blood. "You really are scared. And here I thought you were just trying to make me happy. Keep it up because I find you all the more attractive." He smirked coldly and you looked away so he couldn't see how terrified you were. You couldn't help it though. He didn't look happy. He looked indifferent.
A few moments passed and you still refused to look at him, you stood up and wandered around the room with him at your side rather than sitting on his lap as he smiled at you for being scared. You just scrambled around the room, going through all the doors. He had a bathroom in his bedroom! He even had a very big walk-in closet, but pretty much full of the same style of clothes yet he still had some rather nice and formal clothes. You walked into the closet and Derek followed you in. He flipped a switch and the lights turned on. He closed the door and leaned against it, watching you as you walked deeper in, intrigued.
"Wow..." you said simply, running your fingers across the clothes as you walked. Derek laughed slightly, but not a hearty laugh.
"I don't see why you are so amazed. It is only a closet. There are better things in this house...like my bed." he said, looking around the closet. You could only hope he was joking as you continued walking. It seemed endless, so you began quickening your pace and quickening it even more until you were running. Luckily the whole ceiling had lights every so many steps so it didn't get dark. You were so amazed at how far it continued that you felt yourself fall with a thud before you felt any pain. Then it hit you and you screamed. You had been running so fast that you couldn't stop and you ran headfirst into a wall. It would've been funny, but your head had hit it really hard.
Derek's P.O.V. You were leaning against the door, thinking about the strange girl named Amber when she eventually ran out of your sight. You stood up straight and almost called her name when you heard a thud and, seconds later, a scream. You immediately began running to the end of your closet, but god knows how long that would take. You heard Amber groaning and you quickened your pace, only slowing when you saw her rolling on the ground, holding her head.
"What did you do?" you asked, rather coldly, but it wasn't your fault you were raised that way.
"I ran into the wall..." Amber said sullenly. You bit back the urge to laugh at her and helped her up.
"God, you're an idiot," you said, pulling her up.
"What the hell happened?!" you heard him yell, running up to Amber and snatching her from you. You growled at Blake as he stroked her hair. "Are you okay?" You saw Amber nod slowly and he sighed, setting her down, but holding her close. It made you mad at how she was snuggling up to him.
"Get. Out." you stated, glaring daggers at Blake. He hesitated, kissed her cheek, and bowed before he left. Like that made a difference. How dare he? And how dare she let him?! You stormed up to her and grabbed her wrist as she squirmed.
"Ow! Please stop! You're hurting me!" she whined. You ignored it and dragged her out of the closet.
"You've explored my room enough. Just sit down and be good." you demanded, pulling her down onto your lap when you sat on your bed. She squirmed in your lap, but all it took to make her stop was showing her your fangs. And there was that cute side of hers again as she shook in your lap. You heard a knock on the door and Blake came in, obviously unhappy, carrying food. Nonetheless he bowed before exiting but you did see him glance at Amber before leaving. You also felt Amber lean a little towards him, as if begging to be with him. You rolled your eyes and gave her a plate. You wouldn't stand for her blasphemy and she obviously knew you were in control because she began eating right away after one glance at you.
