"No!" I said forcefully as my sister kept chattering away from the couch across from me. I was sitting in the arm chair trying to read this stupid book for English and she decides to strike up a conversation, "I have to concentrate!"

I could hear her growl, that could not be good. Next thing I knew a book was launched at my head. It hit me squarely between the eyes, all her aim and power prowessed from softball training. I winced, but made no motion to my injured forehead. Just Ignore her, she'll give up.

I picked up the book and dropped it on the floor to be put away later. I flipped the page in the Great Gatsby right when it closed on my finger. This time I growled only to be faced by an infuriated amber. Amber was my sister, an annoying sister at that. Her face was inches from mine her blonde hair in natural curls setting off the red creeping into her cheeks, "Don't ignore me!" she barked in my face.

Okay, she was the LITTLE sister. I was the older one. When did it change that I had no superiority in this relationship? I snapped my book back open, threatening to tear the binding, "I can do what ever I feel like! Just because you're bored doesn't mean you have to bother me..." I gritted my teeth. My how I just wanted to slap her across the face.

She pouted and resigned herself back to her couch, resuming her reading of the twilight series. Yes she was a vampire fanatic and no I did not recommend those books to her. She found them on her own, well with her friend, and now she expects me to read them because they're a gold mine. Personally, i don't like vampires when they are portrayed as good. Vampires were originally demons. Since when did they become nice? Never, not like they're real though. Still, if they were they'd rather drink your blood not kiss you. Amber was insane.

BAM! Another book, this time a hard cover, hit me in the arm. I dropped the 'Great Gatsby', consequently losing my page, and gripped my injured arm. Amber simply smirked and walked away. I murmured some obscenities under my breath before I returned to my school reading. Oh, and guess what book it was? Twilight. Yep, that's what I call vengence, but soon I'll have my vendetta.

---------------------------------------------------------------

"Nice forehead." Ashley joked, touching my bruise tenderly. I scowled and roughly dropped my backpack infront of my locker, "What'd ya do? hit yourself with a hammer?"

I turned to her, still peeved about yesterday's quarrel. I had an anger thing, that I kept pretty under control, but that doesn't mean I show my peevish nature a little. It was a light bruise too, the one for the hammer would be on my forearm. Did I mention it had been the corner of the book that had landed on my arm? Yea, I swear it could of made me bled if thrown a little harder, "No it was something called a little sister that hit me."

"Got beat up by a freshman?" She asked, raising a brow. Yes, Amber was a freshman. Not a very smart freshman because she was too preoccupied with the supernatural. Ashley tilted her head, awaiting a reply. Her green eyes were, well green, and her hair was brown. But not jsut brown, a honey brown that I was absolutely jealous of. I on the other hand had blond hair, slightly dirty blonde because it loved to threaten me with 'i'll turn to brown if you don't go in the sun more'. I also had brown eyes.

yep, i had poop brown eyes and piss yellow hair. I looked gorgeous.

"Okay, stop dwelling and get over it. We have a math test first period and you'll fail if your concentrating on vengence."

I nodded, freaking out silently about my quiz. I hated having my math in the morning, pre calc was such a joy! No seriously it was a joy. The teacher made fun of nearly every kid that talked and would help you on the problems. He was really young but not the 'you can have an affair with young' but the 'he can still hear you if you whisper' type young. He was funny and sadistic, and just a tiny bit cruel.

"So how'd you do?" I asked Craig casually as he sat across from me at lunch. Meet Craig, my little nerd. Well not little considering he is taller than me by a good 3 inches, but he definately was smarter. He wore amazing glasses and slight jock-average look. He wasn't the type to be drooled over by girls, but he could land himself one if he tried.

"Failed." he said, but I doubt he did. He just probably is stressing out for no reason, as always. I reached over and patted him on the shoulder, but didn't have a chance to say anything before Emily sat down.

She had was chinese, but a really really pretty chinese. Probably why she keeps talking about her admirers. she acquired a lot in these past three years of high school, "Alright." She said in her normal, 'the wierdest thing happened to me' tone, "I find this note in my locker. And I go to where he says to meet him. He was so wierd. He asked me straight out if you know..I did THAT! with him. I was so disgusted I just..."

And did I mention she was a virgin? And damn proud of it?

Craig smiled sympathetically, "Don't worry. the guy probably smokes crack too. he can't judge an easy one if he saw one. Anyway you have morals and have every right to turn him down."

"Well I know that," she agreed and silently thanked him. She took a bite of her french fry. Yes I said french fry. Just because your pretty does not mean you have to be a health freak. Then she turned her attention to me.

"I saw your sister before. Did you see those kids she hangs out with?"

"You mean the ones who's biggest piece of clothing is the tag on their thong?" I supplied, knowing well who my sister hung out with. Where did I go wrong? I am supposed to not let her become a slut, but she did. Granted she is pickier than many of her friends, and i give her half a kudos, but still she could have done better. but she's in the clique and there is no way out now.

"Yes!" Emily said, "I can barely believe it! They shake their hips so much you swear their abs have got to hurt!"

"What's got to hurt?" came Amber's voice as she sat beside Craig across from Emily. Crap...speak of the devil...

"Her arm." Craig stated, motioning to the very conspicous bruise on my bare arm. I had decided to wear a red t-shirt with this cool design on it and blakc bermuda shorts. Amber simply rolled her eyes, knowing her defeat.

"So what'd you come here for?" I asked, tired of beating around the bush. But I am so giving her a beating when we get back because that mini skirt is way way too short.

"There's a new kid who just transferred this semeste into the junior class. you know your class. Word is he's hot and an item. I was wondering if you could, ya know, help me find a way to talk to him." she batted her mascara coated eyelashes cutely and fondled one of her banana curls. I had to help her curl her hair this morning. It's naturally curly, but she wanted it to be a different style this morning.

"First of all, " I said, motioning a number one with my hand, "He is not item. He's a human being. Second never heard of him and I don't feel like looking for him."

"He's in our lunch for pete's sake!" she said in a harsh tone, "I even know where he's sitting but I can't just stroll on up because I'm a freshman."

"No." I said again. She turned and left the table infuriated. I was not the one to go up to a stranger and go 'hey, my name is Alyssa, and my sister wants to talk to you.'. I actually did that once in middle school. That guy still avoids me.

Emily nudged me in the arm, "Go on, I hear he is super nice. I talked to him already. He looks really tough but he is the sweetest guy you'll ever meet."

Craig rolled his eyes, "Damn! there goes my position as sweetest guy."

I shook my head, "I don't want to talk to him unless I see him and the situation totally sets us up to talk. Otherwise no communication with that guy what-so-ever."

"His name is Aiden." Emily tempted, "Bet you he's a vampire."

SNAP! hear that? that was my nerves snapping! Ugh nice vampire my donkey! how could...?! Urgh. Is that the only reason why Amber wants to talk to him? Bet you that's it. And he's hot. Well Amber's standards of hot, which are pretty close to mine...

"No." I repeated, "Only when hell freezes over will I talk to him."

Turns out hell froze over next period...

"psst, can you pass me my pencil? I sort of dropped it..." Whispered my friend Ashley. We were sitting in English class, our teacher talking about grammar. I was busy taking notes, but i gave in and began looking for the pencil.

Have you ever had those times when you can't seem to find the pencil you dropped, at all? That you even have to get out of the chair to see it. And of course it would be right under your chair or by your foot. But the worst of all is when it's some one elses and they look as you do your frantic search of the pencil you swear cannot exist, because you for one cannot find it.

Giving up after a good minuted of looking around i turned to Ashley, "Can't find it..." I whispered softly. Then I felt a poke on my right arm (Ashley was on my left) I turned to see Ashley's pink pencil right infront of my face.

"Here." Said the boy who was holding it out and I quickly took it. Of course I nodded a thanks then resumed my note taking. I glanced up once or twice to see who that boy could of been who passed it to me. It had to be a boy, or else it was a girl with a really deep, smooth voice. Yes it was smooth, well beyond the cracking stage. I could tell from my quick glances (I have the inability to take a mental snapshot) that the hair was black and fell just below the chin. Also he (or she) was wearing a white shirt and cargo shorts. Oh and flip flops, I could see the flip flops. I was jealous of the flips flops.

The bell rang. I stood up and tucked my binder under my arm. I stuck my pencil in the oh-so-convenient pocket of my pants and went to leave the class. I of course didn't get to first try because a hand had decided to grip my shoulder and stop all forward movement. "Huh?" I asked turning around, slightly bewildered.

"I didn't catch your name." Said the guy from before. yes this was a guy, you could so see it was a guy. "I'm new here," he continued, "I'm Aiden."

And BAM! that's when hell froze over. And when all hell froze the demons had to leave. Wonder where they went? "Alyssa." I said taking his offered hand.

Turns out all the demons went right into my life.
