The first thing Willow noted when she woke up was a blinding headache. The second thing was that she was sat on the floor with her arms spread and shackled to the wall. Needless to say it wasn’t very comfy.

She slowly turned her head from one side to the other, testing the damage. She felt the pounding increase and winced, but continued until she was satisfied that she could open her eyes. When she did, she saw a bare stone room. Not very interesting.

Sighing, Willow gave her shackles a hopeless tug, knowing there was no use. They were too heavy and she was only human.

She didn’t have long to sit before she heard the click of a heavy lock. She closed her eyes again, feeling the pounding grow as the light shone through the gap in the door.

She could hear footsteps and heard the door close, but nobody spoke. The footsteps walked towards her carefully, then she heard them stop. She slowly opened her eyes to see a pair of grey orbs staring back at her.

“Hello.” His voice was beautiful. He was beautiful. His shaggy black hair framed his face artistically, helping his smouldering grey eyes stand out from the pale white skin. She just wanted to reach out and brush her fingers across the flesh of his cheek, just to make sure he was really there.

He was crouched in front of her, his elbows resting on his knees. She could see he was wearing a black shirt and dark jeans. He was staring into her eyes, as if searching for something. He frowned slightly then let himself fall back, sitting with his legs crossed in front of her.

“Ok, they’ve sent me down here do ask you some questions.” Willow took a few moments to process it, which he allowed. He eyed the dried blood on her forehead warily then sighed, pulling a bowl of water from next to him forward. In it was a cloth.

“I’m sure you’re wondering what is going on, and I’ll explain it all to you after you’ve answered my questions. Fair?” He gave her a small smile as he raised the cloth to her forehead, wiping away the blood and grime. She winced slightly and replied.

“Not really. Why don’t we take turns asking.” Her voice sounded hoarse and she coughed slightly.

“I don’t really think you are in the position to negotiate Miss Andrews.” He smirked slightly then brushed a piece of hair out of her eyes, continuing to clean her face. She wanted to pull away, but at the same time she loved the feeling of his cool fingers on her skin.

“Firstly, do you know what I am?” He asked seriously, still looking at the cut intently.

“A vampire.” She replied, glaring slightly. Of coarse he was.

“Very good.” He didn’t look surprised. “Now, how old are you?”

“Seventeen.” He nodded thoughtfully.

“Now.” He stopped cleaning the gash and placed the cloth down, staring her straight in the eyes. “What were you doing in the woods with five werewolves.” Willow’s mouth immediately shut and she bit the inside of her lip. She stared him blankly in the eye, showing him that she wasn’t going to talk.

“Willow, you can either tell me, or my brother. Trust me, my brother is much scarier. Don’t worry, its purely curiosity.” Willow just bit her lip harder.

“Ok, tell me this. Were you there of your own free will?” He asked after a moment. Willow hesitated before slowly shaking her head. That didn’t give away the packs identity and it wasn’t entirely untrue.

The boy grinned widely and gave his hands a clap, making Willow wince as her head throbbed. “Well, that’s brilliant.” As soon as he said these words the shackles unbuckled and Willows arms fell to the floor. “We knew it was a good idea to save you.” He caught her before she fell to the floor. Her head span with the sudden change in atmosphere.

“Oh.” He finally seemed to realise. “I’m sorry.” He carefully picked her up and started walking out of the door. “I’m Nicholas by the way. Nicholas Black. You need to tell me the whole story, but ill let you rest first. I seemed to have been quite careless in my saving you. I apologise.” He smiled down at her.
