The branches that exist Part 1 [Draco/Anhya]
Chapter 2 : The branches that exist Part 1 [Draco/Anhya]
Harry has a twin that is kept secret from the ministry, and they give him to Regulus to grow up as a Black. James and Lily are in a group that has been dubbed death eaters, and why does Voldimort run in worry for children. The ministry has deteriorated, and no longer remembers the traditional ways. And forget the books, because this is way different.
James and Lily were playing with their beautiful twin boys, Harry and Anyha. Harry smiled happily as he passed Anyha his favorite rattle. Anyha never played with toys, but he still took the small gift, smiling back. He wrapped his small thin fingers round it and shook it a little, "Thanks Harry."
Really Anyha thought the boy should be old enough to graduate from such babyish toys. Anyha had never taken an interest in toys, but he had never neglected his brother when he wanted to play.
James and Lily had kept Anyha a secret, only telling the public of Harry. For them, having Anyha was perfect. They could let him be himself, without the headmaster of Hogwarts breathing down his throat. Harry wouldn't have that luxury, and they both hoped that the boys didn't hate each other for that.
Even though the boys were only two years old, major differences could be seen in them. Harry had dark brown messy hair, that grew slowly, he was thicker and taller than Anyha, and his skin had a natural tan. He took mostly after his father. Harry was also much more outgoing and playful.
Anyha had long scarlet hair that was a mix of curls and waves, and even some of it was straight. His skin was so pale that his veins could be seen through it, he was a small child, but looked older than his years. He was also reserved, preferring not to talk with other children, he never locked Harry out though, or the Malfoy child, Draco.
Anyha had worried everyone in the early months, when he never whined, or cried. He would simply look at his parents until they gave him what he needed. Not even when Harry was throwing a fit would he join in.
Of course the other pureblood families knew of both boys. Many times they had gotten together simply so the children could get comfortable with each other. The adults thought it best if they started their social lives early, well that and they wanted to make sure their children got along now, so that they had friends and allies at school.
Most of the pureblood families had children that the ministry was unaware of. It was safer for families under scrutiny that way. Like the Malfoy's, they had six children, though Draco was their only child together.
In the beginning Lucius and Narcissa were not going to have any children together, but the ministry began asking about the next heir, so they had little Draco, whom the entire family loved. He was the link that brought both Lucius's and Narcissa'sfamilies together.
The ministry had deteriorated so much that they no longer even knew half of the rituals of their people. Pureblood families had to hide behind facades of families, and fake lives in fear of persecution. Families that had turn into blood traitors were just as dangerous as the ministry, so of course, there was animosity between the groups.
It was a rare case that a marriage between purebloods was legitimate in the old wizarding laws. James and Lily's was one of two in their group that the binding and marriage were one in the same. Marriage meant nothing, it was simply a written contract and a set of vows with no magic behind them. Something so easily broken it was laughable.
"Darling, it's about time to go to Godric's Hollow." Lily said after casting a quick tempus. James ran a had through his thick, messy locks, and sighed, they had been planning this for the better part of two years but he was still worried. The plan was very intricate, and if something little went wrong it was bound to mess everything up.
"Yea, I know." He picked up little Anyha, and Lily picked up Harry, they aparated to Godric's Hollow. The death eaters should have been arriving soon, but the wait felt like forever to the worried adults.
As they waited Anyha watched his parents, their aura's seemed disturbed, their colors flowing violently, and they were darker than normal. Anyha turned and looked at Harry, his aura remained unaffected.
The other death eaters arrived together, already dressed in the cloak and masks, Voldimort at their front, "Hello James." He greeted, James smiled and handed Anyha to Regulus Black.
"Well I guess it's time to get started." James sighed, he pulled out his real wand and created a replica of himself, to which he handed the ministry registered wand, Lily did the same. Lucius stepped forward and examined little Harry.
"This wont hurt him." He reassured Lily before casting the spell to leave a lightening bolt scar on his forehead, Anyha twitched a little as he did.
"Regulus take Anyha away, and Lily go upstairs." Voldimort ordered. "I don't want the kids to watch this." Regulus nodded and aparated to his home. Lily and her replica ran up the stairs barely making it to the top before the first spell was cast.
All of the death eaters had surrounded the replica and were torturing him. Harry only heard the first scream before Lily placed a silencing charm on the nursery room they were in. Harry stared at the door frightened because of the sound, and he was getting irritated with the blood dribbling down his face.
Even though it was a replica they were fighting he still gave up a good fight, which was a good thing. If Dumbledore actually looked into the fight than he wouldn't find anything strange. When Voldimort finally went upstairs the replica was a bloody heap of flesh, unrecognizable.
Lily shielded Harry's eyes as he cast the killing curse on her replica, he turned to Harry, "This wont hurt child, you trust uncle Tom right?" Harry nodded to the man, and Voldimort cast the elaborate charm they had created to leave the tiniest residue of the killing curse in the cut Lucius had created. Everyone had been expecting Harry to throw a fit because of the pain, but he did nothing.
Anyha was sitting with Regulus simply watching his magic. He really liked Regulus's magic, it called to him, almost like Draco's but in a different way. Then he stopped moving, and even for a moment breathing as a terrible pain cursed through his body. He started to cry as he clutched at his little body, the pain was everywhere and worse than even the crutacious curse.
His small body convulsed at angles that were sure to break bones. He was screaming, a horrible agonizing scream that crushed hopes and deflated dreams, and Regulus was over him in a second. "Perfectus Totalus!" Regulus shouted, stopping Anyha from breaking anymore bones.
Regulus could barely watch as even with the powerful spell binding his body he moved about, not enough to break bones, but it was a very unnerving sight none-the-less. Then everything stopped. Regulus quickly cancelled the spell.
He pulled a sobbing Anyha into his arms, carefully carrying him to a bed and laying him down. He cast the strongest healing and comforting charms he knew on the child, and as soon as Anyha fell asleep he was going to floo Snape for some potions. "Regulus?" Anyha choked out looking to the distraught man with swollen red eyes.
When Regulus moved closer Anyha latched onto a stream of his magic, draining enough to relieve some pain so he could sleep. All Regulus saw was him reaching in the air and than passing out. He quickly ran to the floo, "Severus Snape!" He didn't realize it but he had tears running down his face.
Snape heard the urgency in the usually stoic man's voice and he ran into the library where Regulus's head was staring at him, "What do you need?"
"Something happened to Anyha!" After Severus spoke Lucius and Voldimort entered the room in time to hear Regulus.
"Let us through." Snape spoke quickly, and as soon as his head was out of his fireplace, Snape was in it, followed closely by the others. "What happened?" He asked as Regulus lead them to Anyha's room.
"We were sitting quietly when suddenly he just started screaming and crying and convulsing, it was terrible." Regulus shuddered.
"Snape, Lucius check on the child, Regulus come with me." Voldimort said, then he lead Regulus to the study. "Put your memory in the pensive so we can see what happened." Regulus nodded and did so. Voldimort leaned over the bowl and watched the horrific scene unfold. After watching it he knew that Anyha had received the pain they had expected Harry to endure.
Without saying anything he ran, full speed, out of the room and back to the fireplace. He was back in seconds with the potions they had created for Harry, and ran to Anyha. Snape recognized the potions the moment he laid eyes upon them, and grew pale. All he could think was how long Anyha had gone through that pain, and somehow come out alive.
After Anyha took the potions and was tucked into bed again Snape and Lucius watched the memory. All of the men knew why Regulus had been crying, they were on the verge of tears themselves. "Do you need anything Regulus?" Snape asked.
"No, you did what I needed, and I thank you." Regulus was going to be keeping a very close eye on Anyha for a while, to make sure there was no permanent mental damage. The small group decided not to tell James and Lily unless complications arose.
James and Lily looked back at Harry feeling terrible about leaving him in the destroyed house for Dumblefuck to find. Then they disappeared, not wanting to be around to ruin everything when the, ever so slow, aurors arrived.
After Voldimort had cast the charm on Harry, he had destroyed the upper level of the house and they had placed Harry where there was no chance of a cave in or something falling on him. Now they only needed Dumbledore to spread the news of his defeat, and how little Harry had lived through the killing curse.
James and Lilly went to Potter manner already missing their children. Tomorrow they were going to the Dursley's to get Harry back, but Anyha was staying with Regulus, to grow up as a black, and go to school as a black. Of course Harry and Anyha would know the truth, their parents dared not keep a secret like that.
Everything seemed to be going without a hitch, well until the wind brought news of Peter's betrayal, that is. Before anyone could react Sirius was after him. And before anyone could stop the hotheaded man he had killed Peter, in an explosion of a spell, in front of several muggles.
Dumbledore accused him of betraying the Potter's and without even giving the an a trial threw him in Azkaban. The death eaters were outraged, but the ministry didn't do anything to stop Dumbledore in this horrific time, in which everyone was afraid of the Dark Lord.
