Relationship: Been dating Kurama for almost a year now.
A girl was walking down a driveway with a red haired boy by her side. She turned her head toward him and looked at his deep green eyes. 'Anyone can lose themselves in these emerald eyes,' she thought as she smiled at him. He brought his head down and kissed the rosy lips of his girlfriend. When he pulled apart she laid her head against him and entwined their fingers together.
"Did you have a nice time, Ryusei?" he whispered in her ear, making shivers go up and down her spine.
"It could be even better if I had another kiss," she replied slyly. Once again he swooped down and their lips connected in a passionate kiss. The door in front of them bursted open with a teen age boy with slick back hair with his arms cross standing there.
"Jeez Kurama don't suck her lips off!" he yelled out, falling and had a uncontrolled laughter from his lame joke.
"Yusuke!" Kurama and Ryusei said at the same time, both blushing a hundred different colors of red. They got over it soon and began to laugh with this immature teenager that was still on the floor laughing.
"Would you like to come in, Ryusei?" Kurama asked, holding out his hand to her.
"Why it would be my honor," she replied taking his hand and stepping over Yusuke after closing the door.
They headed to the living room where all of Kurama's friends. Yukina, Keiko, Botan, Hiei, Kuwabara, and now Yusuke once he found himself all by himself. Kurama sat down on the couch and pulled Ryusei on top of his lap. She didn't complain, but actually put her forehead in the crook of his neck and getting closer to him. All of the girls sighed happily for them clasping their hands together.
"Hey, I have an idea. Let's watch a movie!" Botan exclaimed, jumping up and down. The girls wanted to watch a romance, while Yusuke and Kuwabara wanted to watch horror, Hiei plainly said 'hn' and left the room. The girls won at the end and they popped in 'A Walk to Remember'. ((If you haven't seen it, it's basically about a trouble making boy and a religious girl falling in love. Except the girl is dying, and at the end he was changed because of her, and basically she's dead.)) At the end the everyone was crying besides Kurama and Ryusei. Ryusei was shaking a little, but Kurama noticed.
"Something wrong, Ryusei?"
"I'm sorry Kurama, I really am." Ryusei said bringing her head up, tears now streaming down her cheeks.
"What's wrong?" Kurama asked tightening his grib around her waist. She pulled his arms apart and stood in front of him, letting her bangs cover her eyes. Kurama stood up slowly, watching his girlfriend's moves. This caught everyone's attention.
"Something wrong on cloud nine?" Yusuke asked.
"Yusuke!!!" Keiko shouted hitting his head repeatedly. "That is nothing we should ask!"
"It's not you Kurama, it's me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I really am," Ryusei started, looking into the green vortex. "Just like the movie, I'm dying too."
Everyone was quiet, with wide eyes. If anyone dropped a pin, it could be heard. Just then, Hiei decides to come back in. Kurama took a step toward her, with an outstretched hand.
"Ryusei. . ."
"Apparently I only have a three weeks to this day to live. I want to be with you. . . But you don't deserve a girlfriend who won't even live to actually see their one year anniversary!" Ryusei cried out, fleeing to the front door and running off. Kurama was frozen in his place.
'How could this happen?'
'Love is for the weak and now you see why.' Hiei's voice echoed in Kurama's mind. Kurama dropped his head for a moment before looking up and running to pursue his girlfriend. He ran and ran and ran, but he couldn't find her.
'She's not at her apartment, not at the park we go to, where could she be!' He thought dragging his feet back to his house.
"Did you find her?" Botan asked, opening the door for him.
"No," Kurama said quietly, passing her and everyone else heading to his room. When he entered his room, he locked his door and fell onto his bed, thinking over what happened eariler. Koenma opened a portal into the manison where the spirit detectives lived. Everyone was in the livng room, except Kurama.
"Spirit detectives! I have grave news! You must get packed and leave for two weeks! There's a tournament in three weeks and you must win the prize! It's a mirror, just like the one Kurama took, except it doesn't take your life, but grant you one wish! So get going, you must train at Genkai's!"
"But Koenma we can't Ryusei ran away and she going to die in three weeks!" Kuwabara said hurriedly.
"Don't worry you can use the mirror for her, but you must go, there's no way what the other people will use the mirror for!"
"Koenma, sir, but she's a fairy! If she's dying she is losing all of her power. The second last day, she wouldn't even be able to fly!" Botan cried out With acute hearing, Kurama heard everything, and smiled sadly. He got up and started packing his belongings, with a look of determination in his elermald eyes...
The spirit detectives were on in the final rounds when Kurama saw a girl with butterfly wings and golden hair watching them afar.
"Kurama, come on! We are almost done with this stupid tournament, then we can use that wish!" Yusuke yelled, already at the arena. Kurama went to look at the girl one more time, but she wasn't there. He sighed deeply before slowly heading toward the rest of the spirit detectives.
"That was too close," Ryusei said quietly, hiding in the shadows. "He saw me, what am I going to do?" Ryusei started to walk toward the stadium to find a seat, but two hands grabbed her upper arms.
"Where do you think you're going?" He asked, acohol on his breath.
"To watch my boyfriend fight, now will you please let go?"
"Well. . . he ain't going to be your boyfriend anymore, 'cause my employer wants ya." He whispered in Ryusei's ear, sending shivers of fright into her. Ryusei kicked back and hit him in the knee, making him let go of her. She took off where Kurama was heading, but he was faster and tackled her to the ground. The man started to drag her away.
"Somebody help! KURAMA!" Ryusei yelled out, before getting knocked out and slung onto the man's shoulder.
The last battle ended and the victors were the spirit detectives. When the spirit detectives were getting the mirror, all of them could hear the faint voice of Ryusei calling out to Kurama.
"Give me that!" Yusuke exclaimed, grabbing the mirror from the announcer and holding the mirror up to the sky. "I wish Ryusei won't die by causes that will make her die soon!" Yusuke said, the sunlight hit the mirror making it glow a light blue. The blue tint that surrounded the mirror surrounded Ryusei.
"What the 'ell?" The guy holding Ryusei slurred. Ryusei was lifted off his shoulder, burning him severly. The glow entered Ryusei before dropping her to the ground. "Bitch!" he cried before plunging a sword into her adbomen. Ryusei cried out in pain, as the guy fell beside her; dead. Kurama, Kuwabara, and Yusuke was running after Hiei.
"She's close," Hiei said over his shoulder, picking up more speed.
"I knew you were a nice guy Hiei, using your Jagan and all to find Kurama's girlfriend," Yusuke said, trying to go faster. All of the spirit detectives stopped looking at Ryusei surrounded by blood. Kurama ran at her hugging her tightly. ((Well after taking the sword out of course.))
"Koenma, portal now to the infarmary (sp)!" Yusuke yelled into his communicator. A portal appeared and all of them ran in, a medical team was already standing by for Ryusei. Kurama placed her on and wheeled her off. Kurama was pacing back and forth in the waiting room for at least five hours, praying that Ryusei was alright. Yusuke, Keiko, Kuwabara, and Yukina all fell asleep from worring themselves so much. The head doctor came out, pulling off his mask and gloves.
"Are you related to Takamika Ryusei?"
"Yes, I'm her boyfriend. How is she?" Kurama asked, rushing to the doctor.
"She's fine, but sleeping right now. You may go to her bedside if you want."
Kurama said 'thank you' before excusing himself to go to Ryusei. He came and saw that she was sleeping peacefully. Ryusei eyelashes fluttered open, to see Kurama looking down upon her.
"Kurama, I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I really am-"
"Shhh Ryusei, it's okay. I understand," Kurama whispered holding onto one of her hands.
"Kurama? Will you lie with me?" Ryusei asked, fighting to stay awake.
Ryusei scooted over, giving him some room. Kurama laid down beside her, tucking both of them in. Yusuke woke up and ran into Ryusei's room, thanks to the curtesy of a nurse. He came in quietly to see Kurama and Ryusei both together sleeping in each others arms. He could hardly hear, but made out three words that they both said to each other; "I love you."
