Chapter 1 [Very short chapter]
Colorful lights were flashing everywhere. The loud music rebounded off the smooth, black walls. Guys and girls were dancing, like as if they ever stopped, they were going to die. People crowded the dance floors and the bar.
I glanced over at Lynn. Her long and shiny black hair was dancing along with her body. Lynn had deep dark eyes. If you didn’t concentrate hard enough you would get lost in them. She had a skinny hip and her legs showing under her ripped, jean miniskirt, were so long and pretty.
“Hey Lynn!” I shouted over the loud rhythm of the song: Please Don’t Stop the Music. Lynn looked at me tilting her head sideways showing she wanted to know what. “I’m going to the bathroom!” Lynn nodded smiling and went back to her dancing.
I was walking out of the dance floor when I noticed that most of the boys were looking at me. Now that I thought about it, all of the boys were staring at me and Lynn. I rolled my eyes, stepping off the dance floor. Boys were stupid. They would think that they were in love and then after they rape you and leave you pregnant, they go and declare that they love another girl. I never really befriended them, even back at the organization. I pulled up my knee-ripped jeans and strode toward the women’s bathroom.
When I went in the bathroom, I found two drunk, college girls splashing water at each other, making puddles of water on the marble floor. I once again rolled my eyes and shook my head. One of the girls with a white cap saw me roll my eyes and stumbled toward me.
“You have some kind of problem?” she shoved me with her wet hands making my white dash line top wet. “If you think you’re so cool, why don’t you get heated up, bitch?” The other girl, with a red tank top giggled.
I I cracked my knuckles, neck, and jaw, all at once. I was in a bad enough mood, and this girl just made me snap. “First of all, don’t go cursing at my face.” I shoved her back. She let out a squeak and bumped into the garbage can. “Second of all, don’t touch me, this top costs more than you, and final tip,” I fixed my shirt, “If you’re going to say something to piss someone off, get new lines cause’ you’ll only make them laugh.” The girl with the white cap straightened up.
“Don’t act so tough, little girl,” she took a step forward and made an attempt to slap me. I ducked and swept her feet under her. She fell with a thud on the floor. Her friend with the red tank top stepped forward. She raised her hand, ready to smack me.
A girl with dark, wavy hair suddenly stepped into the bathroom, grabbed the drunken girl’s raised wrist, twisted it, and flipped her over. The two college girls sat up, fumbling for their cell phones.
“You press a button on those phone, you die….literally.” The girl with the wavy hair drew an imaginary line across her neck. The girls on the floor had a very terrified look on their faces. With a satisfied smile, the girl with the wavy hair stuck out her right hand, indicating for them to give her their phones. The college girls threw their phones into her hands, and scrambled out the bathroom.
The remaining girl threw both phones on the ground and they cracked. I smiled. “Nice. You take tae kwon do, or something?” The girl looked at me with an expression I couldn’t read. “Lexi, you?” I raised an eyebrow. “Huh? What?” She sighed and mumbled something under her breath that I couldn’t make out. “I said my name is Lexi and I want to know what your name is.” I nodded. “Oh~. My name is Faythe.”
Lexi crossed her arms and shifted all her weight to one leg. “I didn’t save you cause’ I wanted to. I was just curious about why I see a red aura around you.” At this she stuck out her index finger and waved it around me. “This other girl on the dance floor had one too.”
I was surprised. She was talking about me and Lynn! Did she know that we had powers? Does she have powers? “Uhhh….I have no idea what you’re talking about.” I tried to make a confused look, but she saw right through it.
“Stop with the damn acting! I know you know what I want to know!” She grabbed a spare toilet paper roll and hurled it at me. I swiftly ducked, astonished that she had such speed. “See? You’re not normal!” Lexi yelled her lungs out. “A normal person wouldn’t have been able to dodge one of my throws!” I quickly thought of something to say. “If you throw something at me again, I think I’d get hit this time.” she stared at me and then she laughed. Her laughter was as pure as snow. Her laughter was so graceful, yet, it freaked me out. She was angry like, a second ago, wasn’t she? Am I going crazy here? What if she’s a psycho?
