With A Violent Kiss
Chapter 2 : With a Violent Kiss P.2
Rawr, bby. Uhm, last thing you read was Drake complimenting the pic of the narrator.. If you please, you are the narrator. It's just very annoying to keep saying you did this you did that. You know?
Morgan elbowed Drake in the side, “Stop flirting.” It wasn’t a mean comment, it was actually very playful. The bands changed again. The stage hands turned the strobe lights back out towards the crowd. The drummer sat down and tightened the cymbals while the guitarist wheeled a woman out onto the stage, carefully getting the wheelchair over the cables. She was rolled up to the microphone and she lowered it to her mouth. “So are you all having fun tonight?” she asked the crowd. They all yelled back. The drummer tapped the snare slowly and the guitarist plucked a few chords. The woman sang out in a clear and beautiful voice, the suddenly she started screaming out the lyrics. She surprised the crowd, because most gasped. The drummer and guitarist both picked up the pace, and soon the crowd was head banging and moshing again. Morgan smiled, “Sounds like fun to me. They can’t not let us back in either.” Drake looked at me with pleading eyes. “If one ya’ll lead, I’ll follow,” I replied. Drake grinned, “How bout we hold hands so we don’t get, uh. Lost in the crowd?” Morgan laughed, but grabbed mine and Damion’s hands… which left me holding Drake’s. He lead the way through the crowd, pushing people like they weren’t even there. They all thought he was trying to mosh or something, so they didn’t try to pound his face into the earth. It only took a minute to get through everyone; we walked passed the security guards who even with their bulky steroid pumped bodies were dancing like little pre-teen kids. It was honestly a creepy sight. I couldn’t help but start laughing. Morgan tightened her grip on my hand as she started laughing. We let go of each other’s hands and started walking slowly side by side down the moon lit trail. The surrounding trees had grown tall and their branches formed an arch which tried desperately to hide us from the moonlight. Since it was October, the leaves had fallen, so the braches did little to hid the full moon’s orange glow. As we walked, leaves crunched beneath our feet. Damion suddenly jumped out in front of us then pointed to a little wooden post pointing in two directions. “Which way should we go?” We looked down both paths, then unanimously voted for the path to the right because it lead in a direction away from the highway. This trail wasn’t straight like the main one was. This one was constantly changing directions, and I’m sure if you ran through this trail you would get really dizzy and disoriented. We came upon a small clearing with a couple of logs laid out in a circular shape. It looked to be one of the hiker’s rest areas that were built by the owners of this “park”. Morgan immediately took this as a sign to sit down and relax. She hopped over to the logs and plopped down, then turned to us all and smiled while patting the log. Drake grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the logs, while Damion walked behind us. I could almost feel his mint green eyes boring into my spine. Damion sat down beside Morgan, so he was facing me. Drake sat beside me and faced Morgan. “So, uh, what should we do now?” I asked. Damion’s eyes met mine. Wow, his eyes are so amazing. Morgan spoke up, “Maybe we could just ask each other some questions…” Drake laughed. “That’s kind of, you know, boring. What about seven minutes in heave?” “There isn’t a closet out here, you twit.” Morgan’s statement was heavy with sarcasm. I giggled slightly. Damion looked at us thoughtfully. “How about we play a little bit of child’s hide and seek?” “How would we be able to fine the base?” I piped up. He made a “hmm” sound then his eyes fell to the bracelets we were all wearing. “Why don’t we slip them off and hang them in the branch of one of the trees? The bracelets glow in the dark…” He said. Morgan quickly slid hers off and then so did Drake. I pulled on mine and it slid off rather easily. Damion pulled his off then stood looking for a tree with a low branch. After grabbing our bracelets too he hung them on the three low branches of a tree. “Why don’t we make this a little more interesting, Damion?” Drake asked with a smirk. Morgan sighed, “Like what?” “How about we split into teams. If the hiding team doesn’t make it to base before getting tagged… they have to…” Morgan cut in, “What kiss?” Drake grinned. “And if the hiding team makes it to base before they get tagged, the tagging team has to kiss.” Damion asked, “So how do we pick teams?” I picked up a stick and broke it into four uneven pieces. “The two shortest sticks will go together.” Morgan pulled one out, hiding the length of hers. Drake grabbed one, then Damion. We all looked at our hands, then each other. We opened our hands and I started laughing. Damion and Drake were put on a team together. Oh, wait… if Morgan and I don’t tag them or get to base first, we’ll have to kiss. I’ve never kissed a girl and I don’t think I plan to. Drake frowned then grinned as he said, “I want to see them kiss.” “So whose team is going to be it?” Morgan asked. Drake picked up two of our stick pieces, “Shorter stick is it.” Morgan grabbed on and we judged. We had the shorter stick. “We’ll count to fifty, then we’re coming for you.” Morgan stated simply then pressed her forehead against the tree trunk. I did the same and listened to their footfalls as they ran off. “Ten… eleven… twelve…” Morgan whispered. I listened even harder, hoping that I could figure out the direction they had run off in. “Twenty-seven… twenty-eight… twenty-nine…” Her whispering was slightly distracting, but I still managed to listen long enough to know they were any where in front of me or out to the right of me, the distance I was uncertain of. In the background I could here the steady thumping of the concert. “Forty-eight… forty-nine… fifty…” Morgan grabbed my arm. “Which way did they go? You should stay here and guard the base for us.” I nodded, “Uh, they could be any distance but they’ll be in this area.” I let my arm sweep over the area in front of my and diagonally to the right. She smiled and took off into the trees.
