Red: The Color of Blood--((Introduction))
Chapter 2 : Red: The Color of Blood part 3
Part three of Red: The Color of Blood. Um some crap happens then it goes to a time skip about a year later.
Our dinner was a quiet one. The only sound that could be heard were forks and glasses clinking.
My mom made an attempt at conversation which only died down.
"Al you should cut your hair."
"Hmm."
"Araceli you need to stay out of trouble."
"Mmkay."
"Jolee, don't play with your pasta."
"Whatever you say.."
My mom sighed discouraged. It wasn't that we hated eachother and family meals, it was just that generally, we liked quiet meals. Except my mom. Plus, there was too much tension in the air to even follow what my mom was saying.
There was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it; it's probably Kary."
Kary was our neighbor. She was a kind middle-aged lady who was a bit eccentric at times but she always meant well.
"Hello ma'am."
It was a woman. Her voice was brisk and steely.
"Uh hello?" Clearing my mom was not expecting her.
I glanced up at Aldric to give him a questioning look, but when I met his eyes they were panicked. I looked again and they seemed to glitter with malevolence. Just looking at his eyes for that moment didn't make him look human. I scurried up to go to the door with my mom.
"What do you want with Aldric?" My mom's voice was protective and worried. I looked out the door to see several police cars.
"Excuse me little girl, but this is adult business only."
I glanced at the woman to meet penetrating ice blue eyes. Her hair was a blonde color and it was formally tied in a bun.
"Aldric is my brother, so this is my business too." I said stiffly already not liking the woman very much. She smirked.
"Fine. Want I want with your son is to take him to jail. He is convicted with killing a young man by the name of Charles Moffet."
"He wouldn't! That's his best fri-"
"What do you mean I'm not allowed in here? This is my damn house!"
"Ma'am."
"Move! Are you saying I'm not allowed in my own house!?"
I bit my lip to keep myself from laughing.
"Hey Araceli! Your Auntie Kara is here! can you believe they won't let me into my dam house! I bought it for you guys! You tell him girl!"
"Yes Auntie Kara," I said trying to sound obedient.
