Any way... on with the story!
Something sunk in her gut, telling her this wasn't right, something was wrong. Desperately wrong.
Matic didn't even make it to the battle that was going on down stairs. He saw it, saw the blood that covered the stone floor of his home, saw Kyle rushing back into the battle. But when the sharp pain stabbed through his chest he didn't have time to react before the concentrated silver had taken to his blood and he was on his knees. He barely noticed the strong hands picking him up and tossing him over a shoulder. All he could feel was the pain. And all he could think about through the pain was Natasha and his unborn child. They were in danger, they weren't safe, and for their sake alone he pushed his weakened body to stay conscious, to hang on to the blurry images that crossed his eye sight.
"You've got him?" The voice was so far away and distorted.
"Yes." Matic felt a needle stick in his side, drawing out his blood. "Take this, tare apart some vamp and spread it around him, make sure he has the same hair color… we don’t want any one to come looking for our captive… Alright, lets go. Let the newbie's distract his followers. Jasper's death will have retribution. Come on, Mark's waiting." Matic felt the slight shifting as the man holding him moved swiftly. The light from out side hit his eyes, forcing them closed. They were taking him away. Taking him from his life, his love, his everything. He had to do something, he had to fight back, he had to stay. Natasha needed him, their child needed him, he had to do something! Matic forced his muscles to contract, forced himself to forget the pain, to push pasted it. However the more he tried to struggle the more the silver in his blood rushed through his body. He let out a small moan and the moving of the man carrying him suddenly stilled.
"I thought you knocked him out!"
"I did! I gave him enough silver to almost kill him! I don’t understand how he's still conscious!" Matic's head was suddenly lifted up by his hair. He took in blurry gold eyes before something hit the side of his head and his mind was forced from consciousness.
Natasha paced back and forth in the tower room, waiting for Kyle and Nicky to come back. They had forced her to stay in this room and wait for them to return with Matic. The battle had subsided, the united vampire coven finally overcoming the sudden out burst of wearwolves. She stopped her pacing as she heard the door handle squeak as it turned. It opened to reveal both Nicky and Kyle. They stepped into the room and Kyle closed the door behind him.
"Natasha…" Nicky began as Natasha interrupted her.
"Where's Matic?"
"Natasha…" Kyle said slowly, his head lowered. Both of them wouldn’t look her in the eye.
"Kyle, where is he?" Her stomach fluttered as her mind raced to the worst answer she knew.
"He's…" Nicky finally looked up, tears falling down her cheeks. "He's dead Natasha."
"No…"
"Natasha… I saw for my self… the smell of his blood was the same... He's gone." Natasha looked from the two to the door. Her body started toward it, wanting to see for herself when her knees gave out. Her heart feared the truth. Both Nicky and Kyle were at her side, Nicky's arms wrapped around her as Kyle held her steady.
"Natasha, I'm so sorry."
"GET OFF OF ME!" Natasha's strength lashed out at Nicky and Kyle, the force of retaliation slamming both messengers against opposite walls. Natasha's hands found the wood floor, she forced herself up on to her knees and started to crawl to the door. When she made it to the door her hand reached out to take a hold of the handle. Natasha's hand shook so hard she couldn't grasp it. She broke down, her body folding over as her hand fell to her mouth, covering her sudden sobs of pain. Her mouth fell open in the silent scream of torture that was ripping through her. Her other hand came up too meet the other and cover her face. Her tears pooled into her hands and slid down her arms, to the hard floor. She felt the warmth of Nicky's arm wrapping around her back, offering a comfort that couldn't penetrate the thick agony already wrapped around her heart.
