Best friends, Ex-friends 'til the end, Better off as...Lovers? [one] {Pete Wentz, Brendon Urie, and Ryan Ross}
Chapter 2 : Best Friends, Ex- friends 'til the end, Better off as...Lovers? [two]
I like this chapter than the first. I don't like the begining of this chapter better than the end though. Told you it'd get better...just keep reading! I didn't get many rates last time. Please rate/message/comment! P.S. I wrote a journal entry that sort of explains some key info in this story, such as why Brendon and Ryan live in Chicago and not Las Vegas. XOXO, DEV!N
Kati and Megan kept softly laughing with each other, stopping every time I looked at them. I told Kati about the kiss and she said she could tell I liked it. If she only knew. Actually, I wasn't even sure if I liked it - I seriously did want to puke, maybe that was just my way of convincing myself that I didn't like Brendon, though. No. I can't think that way. Brendon and I have been friends since the sixth grade - if I liked him, I would have...I don't know felt something by now. We have know each other for four and half years.
"So about that party." Jake said as Megan, Kati, and I sat down at our table.
"Yeah!" I immediately got excited, "It's this Saturday to celebrate the first day of spring break, at Sara's house."
"I'm in," Shawn said quickly, "Damn, Sara's hot."
"I know. " Jake agreed.
Ren shrugged, "I guess I'll come." Everyone else nodded, except Brendon.
"Coming, Bren?" I asked, nudging him with my shoulder.
"Don't talk to me, I'm mad at you." He said, taking a bite out of his sandwich.
I gasped, and glared at him, playfully, though. "This isn't because I told you were a horrible kisser, is it?" I asked, smiling.
He glared back at me. I laughed, so he flipped me off.
"Anyways," Megan said, "I heard the party's gonna be big."
"Then are you sure your invited, Taryn?" Brendon asked me.
As soon as he said that a voice yelled over every one's small talk in the lunch room. "What the hell's up, high school?!"
Everyone turned to the voice. A boy stood on a chair. When he noticed he'd gotten every one's attention, he climbed on his table and stood in the middle. "Okay, as you should of heard already, unless your like seriously fucking lame, the gorgeous Sara Evan's is having a party this weekend - celebrating the first day of spring break and not having to come to this dumb ass place for a week. And your all invited!" He called. Everyone cheered. "See you there, mother fuckers!"
He jumped from the table smiling, but walking out the cafeteria, because he was called to the principals office.
"See!" I said excitedly.
"Wasn't that, Pete Wentz?" Megan asked, "Damn he's sexy."
"Hell yeah." Ren agreed. Kati nodded, but Zack quickly pulled her into a kiss before she could say anything.
Jake rolled his eyes, "Yeah right."
I laughed, "Jealous much?"
"No," Shawn said, "Doesn't he go out with Sara, anyways?"
"So, that won't stop me from thinking he's got one hot ass." Megan answered.
Taylor shook her head, "I think their just friends."
"Maybe friends...with benefits." I added, "She's over his house a lot."
Shawn narrowed his eyes, "How would you know?"
"She stalks him." Brendon answered for me quickly. The guys started laughing.
"I do not! He lives next door to me, dumbass, you know that." I told Brendon.
Brendon shrugged, "Well then you spy on him," He smiled, "Better?"
"No!" I whined.
"I would too if his sexy ass lived next door to me." Kati said, then looking at Zack's hurt expression she added, "If I was single." He smiled and she kissed him again.
"Oh, gag." I told them.
"Don't hate." Zack replied.
Brendon and I walked home together, as usual. But it was unusually quiet. Guess it wasn't much to say. But was it ever?
"Are you seriously mad at me?" I asked Brendon as we got close to my house. My house was about twenty minutes away, walking distance. Brendon and I could always take the school bus, but we've always walked together.
"Of course not." He smiled. I smiled back and started walking slower. When I had slagged behind enough, I jumped on his back. He automatically caught my legs. "One of these days, I'm going to fall when you do that," He laughed, "You better be happy I knew you were going to do that."
"You always do. Now onwards to my humble laboe!" I said, pointing forward. We could see my house as we turned the corner.
"Hey, Brendon?" I said.
"Huh?"
"Did you like the kiss?" I knew it would make the rest of this walk awkward, but I couldn't help but ask. Today, everyone kept asking me if I liked it, but no one bothered to ask Brendon his opinion. Not that I really cared, it was just a dare, but I was just...woundering.
He hesitated, then shrugged. "It's like they said: it's not like we haven't done it before."
"Yeah, but when we did, we were what - twelve?"
He slowly let me down and turned to face me. He quickly pressed his lips to mines.
So we were standing there on the corner, making out. My arms eventually made there way around his neck and his hands on my hips. I was leaning against the stop sign, my knees weaker. His tongue was immediately allowed entrance in my mouth. How's that for PDA? The last thing I was thinking of was what people thought as they passed us, I mean: I WAS MAKING OUT WITH MY BEST FRIEND.
After what seemed like forever, we were still going at it. Until we heard a horn honk. "Whoo!" We heard someone call. I pulled away from Brendon and looked to the street. Pete Wentz was hanging out the window of the passenger seat of a car, grinning, "Can't wait to get back to your house, Taryn?" He asked as the car pulled in his driveway. I pulled out of Brendon's grasp, embarrassed and shocked.
Yes, Pete Wentz knew me. I mean, of course he knew me, we've lived next door to each other since I was nine and he was ten. We just never talked, I always figured it was because he was a year older than me and we never crossed paths.
He crossed his arms across his chest and leaned against the passenger car door, smirking.
"It's nothing." I reply, nearing him.
"Didn't look like nothing, looked like you and him were about to just have sex on the sidewalk." Pete said, then laughed a little
My mouth dropped and I stopped before passing his car.
"No, Peter, we weren't. And who are you to talk, Sara's always in your room."
Pete narrowed his eyes, "How would you know that?" He said - kind of like Shawn had in the cafeteria.
"I can see you through my window!"
Pete smirked again, "Oh, so do you spy on me often?"
My mouth dropped, "No, I can't help but see you, I have the suckiest view in my room. Out of other windows you can see the neighborhood and out of my window I can see a half-naked you."
"Guess you have the best view in the house then. Be safe, 'kay?" He threw his backpack over his shoulder, still smirking, and the other car doors opened.Three other boys got out and followed Pete into the house, talking and laughing. I stood there still in shock for a moment, then continued to my house, not bothering to see if Brendon was behind me.
I threw my backpack on the floor in rage. "I can't fucking believe him!" I told my empty house. My mom and dad were still at work and I soon figured out Brendon wasn't behind me. I ran up the stairs and into my room.
I looked out the window to see Pete looking back at me. He smiled and waved. I flipped him off and closed the drapes.
Joke me something awful just like kisses on the necks of "best friends"
