Love only the Living {Vampire story} (04)

Hope was in her room as a young shild. She played with her dolls and had books scatteres around her opened to random pages. She was only 4 and knew how to read and write. She was a prodegy(sp?) but she never thought herself superior to others of her age.
As Hope played with her dolls and books her father came into the room, "Sweety I need to talk to you." he lowered himself to eye level with her and held out the leather boundbook. "I need you to be a big girl and find a hiding place for daddy'ssecret book." Hope stared at him for a second then took the book.
"Daddy why must I hide your book now, can I hide it when the time is right?" her voice was filled with innocence, though her words were that of an adults. She looked at her father then laid the book before her and looked at it. "Its our family secret isn't it daddy?"
Her father looked shocked "Yes sweetheart, its our family secret." He took the book back and placed it in is ofice once more.
A year later her parents were killed, she hid the book, and lost her memory. Hope heard her mother's screams and then silence. Eyes of ice blue looked at her through the floor boards, then disapeared.
Everything necame blurry, then she was in a cametary. It was foggy and cold, she could see a shadow of a figure in frint if her. Red eyes soon became aparent.
She screamed and ran, only to run into cold blue eyes.
Hope shot up from the bed and reached under her pillow, there she felt something hard. She was shaking, and pulled out a black leather bound book.
She just looked at it then began to read it. It told of family secrets all the way up to her parents death, and there was aletter in it adressed to her. She reconized the hand writing, she only looked at it, tears streaming down her face. She turned the envolope around and tore it open, and read the letter carefully.
Dear Hope,
If you are reading this then you are 17 and have met the man who killed us. We had promised him our most prized posetion, you. You hadn't been born yet, and we hoped that they would want a boy over a girl. So when you were born we found new hope. But they still wanted you and we said no. We died protecting you, and we hope you will forgive us.

Hope was shocked, how could her parents do such a thing, give away their ownchild? They probably sisn't have a choice, and reading the book confirmed that. They were related to vampires, but distantley, her parents were both human through and through, but her grandparents weren't, and neither it would seem was she.
