A sigh escaped your lips as you stared out into the vast ocean that lay at your feet. The sun had already begun to sink below the horizon line, flooding the blue sky with a ray of colors that ranged from a deep gold to a light purple, this light was reflected back into the ocean. As the tide rolled onto the soft sands of the beach, the waves lapped at your exposed feet making you dance back out of reach almost like it was a game you played silently with yourself.

A warm breeze tickled your face as is blew through your hair gently. You figured that you should be heading home, but it wasn't like anyone would be waiting for your return. You decided to linger around for awhile, at least until the sunset was over. You sank down into the sand, bringing your knees up to your chin you placed your head on your knees and enjoyed the peaceful sounds that surrounded you.

"Do you come here often?" A voice from behind you questioned.

You jerked your head to look behind you, at the very least you had been startled by his presence, as you hadn't heard anyone approach. He had a confident stance, his hands were stuffed into his pockets and he gave you a passive glance. You marveled how the sun glistened off his seemingly white hair as the wind tossed it in the breeze. His eyes were a light blue-green color that glowed brightly when the last few available sun rays hit them.

You blushed as you realized that you had gotten caught staring, you looked away quickly then replied, "I wouldn't say often, but a lot."

He lips formed into a small smile at your reaction, "Yeah, I know what you mean."

"Do you come here often? I haven't seen you around before?" You asked returning the question, your eyes fixated on the rising tide thinking that it may be a good idea for you to move back soon before you got wet.

"No, I guess you could say that I'm new in town."

You nodded as you stood up, brushing grains of sand away that had gotten stuck to you, "Well it was nice meeting you, I've got to be going home. I'll see you around?"

He nodded back, "Maybe, it was nice meeting you too." You smiled at him sheepishly in reply and gave him a small wave as you brushed past him quickly.

"I'm home." You murmured as you stepped into the confinement of your small apartment, you set the back pack you had been carrying down on the small coffee table in the middle of the room.

You sat down on the small technicolor sofa as you adjusted the family photo of you and both of your parents. It was a traditional family photo, you were sitting in the middle with your parents on either side of you, each who had one hand laid on your shoulder. You all had a cheesy smile placed on your face, but deep down you could tell that no one wanted that picture to be taken. Oh the things you took for granite. You ran your finger down the glass frame, "It's hard to believe that its almost been two years now."

You wiped the dust away that coated the picture in a thin coating of dust particles, "I met someone today. He was rather ......... unique. You would have liked him, you always liked that sort of thing." You spoke as if your mother could hear you through the photograph.

You shook your head slightly when you realized you were doing it again, talking to the picture of your deceased parents. You sighed and gently sat the picture back down to its original placement, by a small lamp that barely lit the room, you didn't want to recall the fateful events that claimed both of your parents lives, you had just now began to accept that they were never going to walk through the front door greeting you the way parents should.

You laid back on the couch and positioned yourself so that your arms were crossed and resting on your abdomen and you rested your tired eyes. Just as you had begun to doze off you were startled awake by an abrupt knock at your front door.

You sighed, slightly in annoyance, but got off the couch quickly to see who was at the front door. A slight smile found its way on your face when you peered out the front door through the little peep hole.
