"Alright you three, how did your first night go?" Catherine laughed putting her hands on her hips as the stars walked onto set after getting dressed in their costumes.
"I'm never pissing her off again," Taylor and Robert said simultaneously. "Let's just say I saw too much to ever hurt her again."
Catherine stared between the three with worry in her eyes. She had become sort of a mother to everyone and didn't like to see her children hurting. "What happened?"
"I had a fight with Oliver," Christine murmured, shame in her voice. "It went to a place it didn't need to,"
"Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Is everything ok now?" She asked, genuinely concerned.
"Uh, well I will be fine when I go to London in five days?" the end of her statement turned into a question. "I don't have that many scenes left,"
Catherine nodded. "Well if you work really hard today, we can knock out a few of the scenes so that you could be there sooner." She offered. Christine's eyes lit up and she nodded. Catherine smiled and walked over to the three, uncuffing them. "I think you all learned your lessons."
"That was it?" Taylor asked, rubbing his right wrist where the metal had been.
"I would have done it for longer, but I think you served your whole sentence with having to deal with a lovers fight. Really makes you appreciate one another, doesn't it?" Catherine smirked.
"Hell yes," Christine sighed. "They were really good last night. Jordan and I sort of had a fight too," she said, breaking the news that would affect Catherine more. "We haven't really spoken,"
"Well damn, Do I have to handcuff you two together too?" Catherine sighed. Christine shook her head and sighed, looking down to the ground shamefully.
"Can we please get shooting?" Jordan asked she walked onto the set, pushing right past Christine.
"See what I mean?" Christine asked Catherine as they lined up on the outdoor set where they'd soon be playing vampire baseball.
"Jordan, Have you ever played baseball before?" Jackson asked, tossing a ball to her. Jordan glared at him and flung the ball at his head, barely missing him. "My little brother played all his life, taught me a few things. So, Don't mess with me."
"What'd the guys do to you last night?" Jackson asked, recovered from the potential head injury. "Was it that bad?"
"Jackson, I don't wanna talk about it. Now throw the ball back!" Jordan hissed.
"I'm not giving it back until I know you won't throw it at my head again," he mused, looking at the anger on her face. "It'll help if you talk about it."
"I won't throw it at your head again." She promised through gritted teeth. "But you're not getting the story out of me."
"Alright everyone, places," Catherine called. Christine and Robert walked on set. Uncomfortably or not, Jordan and Christine were side by side, after all, Bella and Alice were pretty close.
"Oh wait, Stay in your places while they fix the lighting." Catherine called. Jordan stood next to Christine, throwing a ball up and down in her hands.
"Listen, what I did wasn't right," Christine started, looking over at Jordan. "I know that and I'm sorry I got mad at you, you did nothing wrong."
Jordan nodded. "I know I didn't." She replied coldly, still not looking to her.
"Fine. I'm leaving for London on Sunday. I'm not coming back to the US after I fix whatever happened," Christine told her, her defenses building the wall up again. "I just thought you should know."
"You'll be back." Jordan laughed. "You always come back."
"Yeah well, this time it's different." Christine told her. "I always came back because of you. Now that it looks like that's not going to be there, I'm going to stay with the people who care," she spat back, a little viciously.
"Don't you dare say that I don't care about you! I wouldn't have put myself through all the shit that's gone on if I didn't care about you!" Jordan yelled, turning to face Christine.
"What else do you want me to do?" Christine shot back. The rest of the cast was looking on in horror. "I can't fix two relationships at once, I just can't do it. And it's obvious that you're going to be mad at me for a long time."
"Fine! Be that way! If you want to give up years upon years of our friendship all because I tried to help you, go ahead! I don't need you anyway!" She screamed, tears coming to her eyes. She groaned and stormed off the set, running to the make-up trailer.
"Where'd Jordan go?" Catherine asked, reappearing on set and seeing the end of the drama. Christine had tears welling in her eyes and running down her cheeks. Jackson had bolted off after Jordan and the rest of the cast was worried about what had just happened.
"She's in the make-up trailer, no doubt. She hates messing her make-up." Christine sighed.
"Alright, I'll rephrase that. Why isn't she here?!"
Christine wiped away her tears and shook her head. "Nothing to worry about. She'll be back. Jackson went to get her."
"It had better be nothing. We're busting our butts to get you to London on Sunday," Catherine reminded her as Jordan reappeared with Jackson in tow.
"Are we ready yet?" Jordan asked, looking as if nothing had just happened. Catherine sighed and nodded, walking back to her place behind the monitors. Jordan and Jackson got back into their places quickly. "Action!"
Eighteen hours later they walked off the set, exhaustion written on their faces. The cast and crew had stayed late to work ahead. "I can't believe I'm doing this for her, she doesn't even deserve it," Jordan vented to Zac when she got back to the hotel room. "You should have heard what she said to me on set!"
Zac nodded, rubbing Jordan's shoulders of the tension that had built up over the day. "I know babe, It's just a fight. You'll be friends again soon." Jordan shook her head. "She's leaving on Sunday and I couldn't be happier." She spat.
"Don't you think that's a little harsh?" he asked her.
"Nope." She simply replied.
"So you're perfectly alright with the fact that you might not see her again for years and she's leaving without working this out?" he asked. Jordan looked at him in disbelief, he was siding against her.
"Have you forgotten who you're married to?" Jordan questioned. "You're not supposed to side against your wife!"
"You're not supposed to be against your best friend," he told her. "I'm not on her side. I just want to make sure you're happy. But look what you did. You sided with Oliver over her."
"Only because Oliver didn't take it to the level that it went to in the end! What she did was petty and wrong!" Jordan argued.
"You sided with him from the beginning. You called him back when you knew that she wouldn't want you too. But I'm not going to fight with you, I'll support you in whatever you choose."
Jordan shook her head and stood up. "No! You already stared it! Why is everyone against me right now?!" She screamed as she stormed completely out of the hotel room and down to the hotel bar.
"No, you sit. I'll go," Christine said racing after Jordan. "Do not get mad at Zac because of what's going on!" She said pulling the drink away for her. "Did you even bother to look at her ID?" She asked the bartender. "If you had you would have realized that she was only nineteen."
Jordan looked down to the dark wood of the bar, trying to control her anger. "Go away. You and I have nothing to talk about."
"That's where you're wrong," Christine sighed. "We have a lot to talk about. But I'm not going to let you get petty with this," she added, completely pouring out the glass of liquor in her hands. "Go talk to your husband, he didn't do anything wrong."
Jordan stood up, shaking her head. "You have no right telling me who to go talk to, especially him. Back off."
"No," Christine told her. "I don't think I will. Because I'm trying to prevent another worthless fight. I screwed up my life last night, don't let the same thing happen with yours,"
"I'm not! I'm not going to lie to anyone to make them forget me!" She spat, walking away.
Christine threw the glass and it shattered on the door before Jordan could reach it. "Don't you dare. I know what I did and I know it was wrong. I have to live with thinking that I've lost the two best things in my life. The two of them, and you. I don't need you throwing it in my face at every possible moment."
Well then you shouldn't have done it in the first place! That way, I wouldn't have to!" She then turned and walked out of the lobby doors into the warm portland night.
"Shit," Christine muttered as she began to pick up the broken glass. She had sliced her palm. "Sorry, I tried," she told Zac walking into the hotel room, her bloody hand hanging at her side. "She walked outside if you want to try and talk to her."
Zac instantly stood up and took Christine's bleeding hand in his. "What'd she do, Stab you or something?" He asked, bringing her over to the sink to help clean up her hand.
"Forget about me, go talk to her before she does something crazy," she told him. He looked hesitant. "I'll be fine, Kimmy's here if I need something. Besides, Jordan probably wouldn't be happy if she found you talking to me."
Zac sighed and walked out of the hotel in search of his wife. Jordan sat on a bench on top of the cliff that the hotel was perched upon. She overlooked all of Portland below her, tears slowly falling down her face. "I had a feeling that I'd find you here."
"Why are you here?" she asked, hearing his voice but not bothering to turn to look at him.
"Because we need to talk this out." Jordan scoffed, pulling her legs up to her chest. "Is that all you ever think will solve problems? Talking? It's worthless..."
"Do you have a better suggestion?" he asked her. "Because if you do I'm open to it. I don't want this to come between us." He told her, still standing where he initially walked up to.
She shook her head. "Can't we ever just forget it all happened and go back to the way things were?" Zac laughed and came over to sit next to her. "Yeah, Like that'll ever happen."
"I meant between us. Christine and I have a lot of shit to get through," he told him. "That's the one that's going to take time. Did she tell you she threw a glass at my head?"
"Well where did she get the glass?" He asked curiously. Jordan looked away from him, guilt written on her face.
"You were drinking?" he asked her, understanding coming before the disapproval.
"I would have been if she hadn't caught me before I drank any of it..." She muttered.
"She sliced her hand up pretty badly," he told her as they continued to look out at the town.
"Not my fault." She sighed, her stubbornness shining through.
"Come on, I know you still care," he told her. She shook her head stubbornly.
"Jordan, You love her. I know that you do, Don't deny it." Zac smirked.
"Damnit!" she sighed. "We've been friends for too long. She and I have been through so much, but this trumps all of it."
"Exactly, Which means that you have to work harder to fix it. You know that you want to fix it." Jordan sighed, putting her head on her knees.
"What the hell did you do to your hand?" Kimmy exclaimed when she saw Christine's bloody hand.
"Threw a glass at Jordan's stubborn head." Christine said as she wrapped it up.
"You did what?" Kimmy snorted, laughter coming out of her mouth. "You're serious?" Christine nodded. "Did it hit her?"
"No, I've never been great at throwing." Kimmy stared at Christine with a 'yeah right' expression. "Or did you not want to hit her?"
"Of course I wanted to hit her! You should have heard what she was saying to me," Christine argued. "She thinks she's God because she has the opportunity to point out something that I completely screwed up on."
"You know that's how she is! Why do you let it get to you now?" Kimmy asked, sitting down on the couch. Her and Elijah had begun packing and her back was killing her.
"You alright?" Christine asked, noticing the pain on Kimmy's face. She nodded and waited for Christine's answer. "I don't know,"
"You're not going into labor are you?" Kimmy shook her head. "No, It's just moving around."
"Oh thank God," Christine sighed. "I have to go get some sleep. Catherine is working us really hard so I can get to London on Sunday."
Kimmy nodded. "You go do that. And don't worry, I'm sure that this whole thing with you and Jordan will work out just fine."
"We'll see about that," Christine muttered walking into her room and shutting the door. Just as her door closed the hotel door opened and Jordan and Zac walked through.
"Well speak of the devil." Jordan glared at Kimmy, walking into her bedroom.
"Not tonight Kimmy." Zac warned.
"Please be careful and stay safe," Catherine warned Christine after they finished filming on Saturday evening. "I'll get in touch when we're going to start New Moon." They had made good time and all the scenes that Christine needed to film had been completed. The release date had been moved ahead since most of the movie was done in half of the time.
"Don't worry, I will. Thank you so much for everything that you've done for me. I really appreciate it." Christine thanked, hugging Catherine tightly.
"I can't believe you're bolting without the movie being over," Robert joked from behind her. She smiled and turned around. "We're going to miss you around here."
"And surprisingly, I'm gonna miss you too." She laughed, hugging Robert.
"Get out of here," he told her. "I guess you have places you'd rather be." Christine smiled and walked out of the set and into the car that would take her back to the hotel for the last time.
Jordan sat on the couch, today was her only real day off from the movie. She flipped through magazines, bored out of her mind. Zac had gone into town with Kimmy to get her out in the fresh air.
"It's just me," Christine said when she walked into the hotel room which had caused Jordan to jump from surprise. Christine and Jordan were skirting around each other, careful not to aggravate the situation anymore than necessary.
Jordan ignored Christine and went back to reading the magazine like there was something that caught her attention.
"I'm going to go pack," Christine said. "If you need anything..." Jordan waved Christine off, her eyes not leaving the magazine.
She pulled out the suitcase and began throwing her stuff into it. When she finished it was going on ten o' clock. She had heard Zac, Kimmy and Elijah come back about an hour earlier. Their laughter was radiating from the living room. Christine rolled her eyes as she walked out of her room with her suitcase and walked straight out of the hotel room.
"Wait!" Zac shouted from inside. He ran out of the room and caught Christine. "What's with that? Leaving without saying goodbye?"
"That's what I was planning on doing, but you just killed that plan," she told him. "You guys are happy and having fun. I have to go to London, I might as well go tonight." They were standing in the hallway of the hotel where so much drama had started. "Tell Kimmy and Elijah goodbye for me?" she asked as she turned to walk out of the hotel. "Oh, and congratulations on the baby," she told him. She and Jordan may not be talking but she could catch the clues. "Take care."
"Baby?!" Zac asked, caught off guard. "Hold up!" He yelled as he ran after her. "Alright, You're definitely not leaving on a bombshell just like that. Come on, at least stay for the night and I'll take you to the airport myself in the morning. Want to go to dinner with just me?"
"No, you have a wife to go back to. And your relationship with her is more important than me, especially now that she's expecting," Christine said. "Just let me go, I don't belong here anymore."
He grabbed her suitcase from her and brought it over to his rental car. "You're not getting away that easily. Jordan's fine up there with Kimmy and Elijah."
"Fine, but I have to catch a flight in two hours," she told him following him to the car. "I can't believe you won't let me just leave."
"Of course not. That wouldn't be me." He laughed. They got into the car and started driving around. "So you really want to leave tonight instead of tomorrow morning?"
"Yes." She told him shortly. "Like I said, I don't belong here anymore."
"Yes you do. Don't think that just because Jordan's pissed at you, means that you don't belong with us. Who died and made her the queen of our group anyway?"
"Watch what you say. You're married to her," Christine warned. "We may not be on the best of terms right now but I will kill you if you hurt her. Just let me go," she argued again as she looked out of the window.
"Don't worry, I won't hurt her." He smiled as he kept driving, looking at the clock every other minute.
"What's with the obsession of the clock?" she asked as she noticed him looking back and forth. "Are you deciding to take me to the airport?" she asked, stressing the end of the question.
"Uhh...yeah, sure. I've decided to obey your wishes." He chuckled lightly to himself.
"Thank you," she sighed as silence fell over them as they made their way towards the airport that they had all become accustomed to. "Alright, I don't know when I'm going to see or talk to you again. So I'm going to say goodbye."
He nodded, keeping his eyes on the road. The road ahead veered off into 2 roads. One lead into the main town of Portland while the other headed straight towards the airport. Zac looked to the clock and saw he only had about 30 minutes left until Christine had to be at the airport to catch her flight. He smiled as he veered towards Portland. "Zac, The airport is the other way." He chuckled, "I know."
"Then where the hell are you taking me?" she asked, getting slightly aggravated.
"Out to dinner, Like I told you." He smiled triumphantly.
"You asshole I'm going to miss my flight!"
He shrugged. "You didn't listen, I'm taking you there in the morning. Chill out."
"I cannot believe you," she fumed as she leaned back against the seat contemplating what would happen if she jumped out of the car.
"You know you don't want to leave me just yet." He pouted.
"I want to do more than leave right now," she told him. "I want to be in London. That's where I belong."
"You'll be in London soon enough. I'll pay to fly you there tomorrow morning. Alright? I'll book the earliest flight I can. Happy?"
"I could be happier, but yes," she muttered as he pulled into a parking lot. "But you're not paying for my ticket."
"And why not? I'm the one who kidnapped you."
"What the hell is going on?" She asked when she saw Jordan, Kimmy and Elijah. "That's it, I'm leaving, right now." She hissed, turning around and trying to walk out of the restaurant.
Zac caught her, pulling her back around. "Not so fast. It's just a goodbye dinner. You'll be fine."
"No, I'm not doing this," she told him, breaking out of his grip.
"Why? Give me one good reason."
"Because Jordan and I aren't talking, because you lied to me, because i'm missing my flight...is that enough? I could keep going," she whispered harshly. "Now let me go or so help me God I'll never speak to you again."
"Christine?" Jordan asked softly from where she sat at the table.
She turned around slowly. "Hm?" she asked, raising her eyebrows slightly. They hadn't spoken in days.
"I...I really need to talk to you." She admitted.
"I already know," Christine told her. "I can read you better than I can read books," she smiled. "Congratulations."
Jordan nodded. "Yeah, but I still need to talk to you. Alone."
"Alright," she nodded and turned around. "Are you going to let us leave or are you three leaving?" She asked Zac. He stepped out of the way and let the two of them pass.
Jordan walked outside, her arms tightly wrapped around herself. The butterflies in her stomach were building up, begging to come out.
"What's going on?" Christine asked, her nerves coming out with the words. Her hands began to shake.
Jordan sighed, sitting down on a bench. "I am...sorry." She apologized softly, more to herself than to Christine.
"You didn't do anything, why are you apologizing?" Christine asked, sitting down next to her. "I should be the one begging for forgiveness."
"Of course I did things wrong. I blew up at you over the stupidest thing. I was trying to help you and all I end up doing was hurting you more. I shouldn't have shoved the lying thing in your face. I don't know why I did that." She blurted out, tears beginning to fall.
"Okay please stop the crying," Christine said, hugging her best friend. "You did nothing wrong, you were right, you pointed out what I did wrong. I needed that. I just got so caught up in emotion and hate that it spread to you and you didn't deserve that. I'm so so sorry."
"Zac bringing you here was my idea. I told him to do whatever it took to get you here. I knew that you would run out like you did." She admitted, laughing.
"Of course you did. You've known me since I was about seven," Christine laughed. "So, a baby? How do you feel?"
Jordan sighed, running her hand through her hair. "I'm scared. I'm not cut out to be a mother. Zac and I never planned this and that's what scares me the most."
"Yeah well, you'll be fine," she smiled. "Planning doesn't work for everyone, you're a great example of that. And as for not being cut out to be a mother you're crazy. You did really well with Cayla and you'll do well with your own kids."
"The thing with the planning is Zac. You saw how he was in Disney when I was with Cayla. He freaked! I'm just afraid that he'll freak with this too. That is, When I tell him." She sighed, looking down at her lap.
"Um, well about that. He already knows. I thought you'd tell him...sorry," Christine muttered.
Jordan laughed, shaking her head. "At least I didn't have to tell him. How'd he react?"
"Kinda surprised, I think he's going to want to talk to you about it though," Christine admitted, playing the the ring that had been in Oliver's letter. She had clipped it on a chain and had it around her neck.
Jordan smiled at the ring. "You know, It is alright to put it on your finger. Technically, he did ask you to marry him."
"It doesn't feel right. I don't even know if that's still how he feels," she sighed looking up from the necklace.
"Christine, Like I said. Something is going on over there with Sarah and your father that we don't know about." Christine sighed, holding the ring in her hand.
"I'm so afraid of what I might find when I get over there," she admitted weakly.
"You'll never know until you go see. I'm sure that nothing horrible has happened."
"We'll see about that," she muttered, sliding the ring on her finger. She smiled up at her best friend. "It's strange,"
"You'll get used to it." She laughed, holding up her hand with it's own ring on it.
"Should we go back in?" she asked. Jordan shook her head. "No, we're not going back in there?" She shook her head again. "Then tell me where we're going. Oh my God, you're taking me to the airport," Christine figured out when Jordan jumped into Zac's rental car.
"Of course I am. I'm sure that Zac will forgive me." She laughed.
"Of course he will, he adores you." Christine laughed as they laughed and joked on the way to the airport. "Thank you," she said when they pulled up in front of the deserted airport.
"You're welcome. Now go in there, get on that plane, and go get your family back!" She laughed.
"I love you so much," Christine told her best friend, hugging her tightly. "I'm going to miss you. I'll call when things calm down,"
"I love you too. I'll miss you more, but I'll be so busy here with convincing Zac to stay in Portland and the baby." She smiled. "Things will work out."
Christine smiled over her shoulder as she walked onto the airplane, the suitcase in her hand. Jordan sighed, getting back onto the highway and heading back to the hotel where Zac, Kimmy and Elijah would be waiting for her to come back.
"You're a little sneak, You know that?" Zac scolded when she walked into the room.
"You had to know something was up when I didn't come back for almost two hours,"
"He didn't notice you were gone until the check came." Kimmy laughed. "Yeah, My wallet was in the car!" Zac yelled. Jordan laughed, handing him the old leather wallet. "All my money in there?" Jordan nodded. "You'll be needing all of it soon enough." Jordan smiled.
"What are you talking about?" he asked her. "We're both making a fair amount of money, we're going to be fine."
"True, but babies are expensive..." She muttered quietly.
"Oh my God," Kimmy muttered, pulling Elijah out of the room.
"What was that, I didn't quite catch it," he gasped out. "Because you can't have said what I think you did."
Jordan nodded. "Yeah, I'm pregnant." Zac smiled, hugging his wife tightly.
"That's amazing!" he cheered. Jordan smiled, relief washing over her.
"Really? You're not freaking out?" She asked.
"No, should I be?" he asked, walking into their room after her. "This is good news. Florida just took me off guard."
"I was scared that you wouldn't want to have a baby right now. I mean, you still have to go film HSM 3." She admitted, looking down to her hands.
"Do not feel ashamed or anything. This is a happy occassion, understand?" He told her firmly. "So, did you work everything out with Christine before you went around the perfectly crafted plan and took her to the airport?"
Jordan nodded. "Yeah, We're cool now. She's flying over the big pond at the very moment, off to get her man." Jordan laughed.
"Did she finally put the ring on? She's been waiting for this for about a year and now she has it and she won't wear the thing," he mused as he turned the blankets down on the bed.
"I made her put it on. She had it around her neck, but I told her it was stupid." She laughed, sitting down in the bed and bringing up the covers over her feet. "Zac..."
"What is it?" he asked sitting down with her on the bed. "What's wrong?"
"Zac, I'm scared about this whole thing. I don't know if I'm ready for it." She sighed, pulling her legs up to her chest.
"What? Being a mother? Please, you were practically perfect with Cayla. You'll be fine," he reassured her. "I wish you were going to have your best friend here though, for things that I cannot do."
"Yeah and then there's the whole fact that you'll be going to LA for a couple months to shoot your new movie while I'm stuck up here being pregnant by myself!" She whined.
"It only takes us like two months to shoot these movies. I'll be back before Twilight is even over. You'll barely notice that I'm not here," he told her, laying on his side so he could face her.
"Yeah, Right." She breathed, not believing him. "Oh god..." She said, placing her head in her hands.
"What? What's wrong now?" he asked, sitting up, panic in his eyes.
"How am I going to tell my mother that I'm pregnant with Zac Efron's baby?" She groaned while she laughed, pulling the covers over her head.
"That's all you're worried about?" he laughed, pulling the blanket back down. "She knew you married me, she had to know this would happen eventually," he mused, a smile dancing on his face. "Besides, she was once in the same position that you're in now. Having to tell her parents that she was pregnant. She'll understand."
Jordan shook her head. "No, You don't understand. Don't you remember what happened when she met you? She's obsessed with you!" She laughed.
"Then she'll be happy," he told her. "Please stop worrying and just enjoy the fact that your life isn't falling apart anymore. Your best friend isn't mad at you anymore and we're having a baby. All of that's good news."
Jordan sighed, laying down on her side with her hand gracing over her now small stomach; thinking of how big it was about to get. She then groaned, placing her pillow over head. "This is gonna suck."
"Please stop worrying," he told her after he clicked the light off. "Just be happy," he continued, kissing her on the forehead before laying down.
"I'll be happy once this pregnancy is done." She smiled. "Can't I just skip the whole getting big and moody part and just have the baby now?"
"Sure." He mumbled, half asleep.
She smiled and kissed him sweetly before laying down in his arms. "I love you, Zac."
"Mhm, love you too." The night was coming to a close and the next morning would dawn before any of them wanted to. Two would leave for their new futures, two would begin their future and two would be fighting for their future.
