[Love Hurts][Naruto One-Shot]

"Aya-chan!! Come quick!" Sakura yelled as she ran towards you. You looked up at her, confused.
"What's the matter?" you asked her when she reached you out of breathe. You saw that there were tears in her eyes and you stood up.
"Sakura. What happened?" You asked her, you voice filled with worry.
"N-Naruto." she gasped out in between sobs. All the color drained form your face and your eyes got huge.
"Where is he?" you whispered, worry bubbling inside you.
"T-the hospital." Sakura said quietly as she looked at your face. You stayed still for another second before running off in the direction of the hospital. Tears blinded you as you ran down the dirt road and into the front of the hospital. You ran up to the desk and stopped, trying to get your tears and sobs under control.
"W-where's Uzumaki Naruto?" You gasped out and the lady looked at you before going to her computer and typing in the name you had just given her.
"Room 314, miss." you started running again before she even finished talking. You ran to the elevator and pressed the up bottom seven times before it came. You ran on and frantically pressed the number three button. It finally came to Naruto's floor and you sprinted out of the elevator, to room 314. You saw Kakashi and Tsunade but you didn't pay any attention to them.
"Aya..." Kakashi started but you just ran past him and opened the door to Naruto's room.
When you saw your blonde lying in the hospital bed with cuts and bruises all over his face and arms and chest, you broke down in tears. You fell to the ground and hugged your arms around your stomach and looked up at the face of your lover. He laid there so peacefully, as if nothing was wrong. You heard the door open behind you but you payed it no heed. Two arms encircled yours and you were lifted off the ground. You looked up into the face of your brother. He smiled down at you even though you could tell that he had been crying. He walked over to the chair next to Naruto's bed and sat down, you still in his arms.
"Shika, what happened?" you choked out. He sighed heavily and looked out the wind at the night sky.
"We went to go try and find Sasuke. It was me, Naruto, Neji, Chouji, and Kiba. We were following the trail of four sound ninja who had Sasuke with them. One of them nearly killed Neji and the other almost took out Chouji. Kankuro turned up just in time to save Kiba. Temari was able to help me because I was running on empty. And Gaara helped take care of a fifth sound ninja who was battling Lee, who had shown up sometime in the middle. Naruto went ahead to stop Sasuke. All I know is that they battled and Kakashi came back with him unconcious." Your brother stopped talking and looked down at you as a fresh batch of tears ran down your face. Shikamaru whiped them away and held you close.
"He's going to be fine, Aya. It takes a lot more to take out Naruto." he whispered to you and you chuckled slightly, because it was true. He smiled down at you and you looked over at Naruto.'Please. Please don't leave me Naruto.' you thought as you turned away from him again. You rested your head against Shikamaru's chest and slipped into a light sleep.

When you woke up again you saw that you were sitting in a chair that was right up against Naruto's bed. Shikamaru was gone and the room was still dark. You turned to Naruto and gripped his hand tightly. His eyes opened slightly.
"Aya?" he asked weakly. You screamed and jumped up on the bed so you were next to him.
"Naruto? Oh my gosh you practically gace me a heart attack!" you screamed as you kissed him roughly on the lips. You felt him wince. He pulled away and hugged him tightly.
"A-Aya that really hurts." he said quietly and you quickly pulled away.
"Are you ok?" you asked as you sat on your knees next to the small blonde. He nodded slightly and then winced in pain. You raised your eyebrows at him and he gave you one of his cute grins.
"I was so worried about you." you whispered as the tears began to fall down your cheeks again.
"Hey, hey don't cry. I'm fine now. Just a little bruised." he whispered. You smiled down at him through your tears and he gripped your hand tightly and pulled you down so you were lying beside him.
"So what happened with you and Sasuke?" you asked quietly while looking into his crystal blue eyes. At the mention of Sasuke's name, Naruto looked down and his eyes were cast over with sadness and hurt. He continued to look down as he told you the whole story. When he was finished, tears were running rapidly down his cheeks and his nose was running. You moved closer to him.
"You will find him one day. I promise." you whispered in his ear. He looked down at you and smiled.
"Of course I will. Because Sasuke belongs here." he said, the stubborness clear in his voice. You giggled slightly and he smiled before kissing you lightly on the lips.

You stayed at the hospital everyday with Naruto. When he could finally be released, you helped him home and stayed at his house for a little while.
"Aya?!" Naruto yelled as he came running into his apartment. You were upstairs taking a bath when you heard him call for you.
"I'm up here Naruto." you called back. You heard Naruto running up the stairs and suddenly the bathroom door slammed open. Naruto stood in the doorway, out of breath and his eyes shining. He didn't even notice that you were in the bath tub.
"Guess what!" he yelled in an overly excited tone.
"What?" you asked as you grabbed a towel and held it up as you stepped out of the bath. Naruto turned around to give you some privacy as he began to talk again.
"Jaraiya-sama's back!" he said quickly. Your face fell and you looked down at the ground.
"Aya? Aya?" Naruto asked as he turned around to see you frowning at the ground.
"What's the matter Aya?" Naruto asked, a smile still on his face.
"This means you're leaving now doesn't it?" you asked softly as you continued to stare at the ground. Naruto's face fell and he walked up to you slowly.
"I'll be back." he whispered as he came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your towel clad waiste. He rested his chin on your shoulder and kissed your neck lightly.
"I'll never stop loving you." he mumbled as he continued to kiss you. You sighed and let a few tears slide fron your eyes before whiping your face and turning to look at Naruto.
"When are you leaving?" you asked a little brighter for Naruto. He cracked a quick smile.
"Tomorrow." he said as he looked into your eyes with his beautiful blue ones. He was waiting for a response but instead you just shrugged and turned to walk out of the bathroom. You walked down the hall to the bedroom you and Naruto were sharing and pulled out something to wear.
"Aya I will come back." Naruto said as he walked into the room.
"When?" you asked as you began to slide your clothes on. You waited for a couple minutes without a response.
"I don't know." he whispered. You turned around to see him looking at the ground sadly. You walked over to him and he looked up at you. You hugged him tightly and he wrapped his arms around you tightly, resting his head on your head.

The next day you woke and saw that Naruto was already getting dressed. He smiled at you when he saw your eyes opened and you smiled back. You got up and got dressed quickly and walked with Naruto to the Konoha gates. Jaraiya was already there when you got there and Naruto stopped a litte ways away from him to say good bye. He held your hands in his and looked you in the eyes.
"As soon as I come back I'll come to see you. It shouldn't be too long." he whispered as he kissed you on the lips gently. Tears spilled from your eyes and you wrapped your arms around the blonde's neck, kissing him harder in return. He pulled away from you and looked down at you.
"I have to go." he whispered and you nodded. He picked up his back pack and swung it over his shoulder. He kissed you one last time before he started to walk away from you with Jaraiya. When he had just walked out of the gates, and your tears were clouding your sight you called out to him.
"Naruto!" you yelled. He turned to you and watched as you ran to him. When you got to him you wrapped your arms around his neck tightly and kissed him as you continued to sob.
"I love you." you whispered in his ear as you pulled away. He took your hands and kissed you again.
"I love you too Aya." he whispered before slipping his hands out of your grip and turning and walking around. You stood there and watched long after their shaped disappeared. 'Love hurts.' You tought as you walked back to the apartment, tears clouding your vision and love filling your heart. 'Follow your dream Naruto.'
