6 Minutes With You ~Shikamaru One-Shot~

Name: Nimaka Kiyashi
Age: 14(I know their younger in the academy but w/e deal)
Personality: Usually hyper(excepet in class), bubbly, happy-go-lucky, blonde moments are frequent, fast, good ninja.



"Hey!' I heard someone whisper and nudge me.
"Huh? What?" I asked as I was forcefully dragged out of my daydream.
"Stop staring at Shika if you don't want him to know!" Choji said chuckling. I felt my cheeks go red.
"Choji!! Be quiet you know I dont like him like that!" I replied sternly. He merely laughed.
"Sure, sure. You keep telling yourself that." He said turning back to the teacher. I, however, looked out the window. But in a matter of seconds my eyes began to stray back to him. He sat a couple of rows in front of me, head on his desk, clearly sleeping. *Sigh* Shika, Shika, Shika when are you going to learn?'
"Nara Shikamaru!!" Iruka-sensei yellled throwing the piece of chalk he was writing with at Shika-kun's head. 'Right now it looks like.'
"Mmmhhpphhmuff??" He mumbled picking his head and rubbing where the chalk hit. I giggled at his expression along with half the class.
"Please stay awake and pay attention. Do you think you can do that Shikamaru?" Iruka-sensei asked, annoyance clear in his voice.
"It's troublesome to stay awake." Shika replied turning to look around the classroom. Finally, almost turned all the way around, he was looking at me. He held my eyes for a moment before turning away.
"Okay class here are your new teams. {Okay I don't feel like putting all the teams down so he's just saying everybodies team here}. And the last team is Asuma's team since we have an odd number of students graduating his team will have 4 instead of 3. Nara Shikamaru, Akimchi Choji, Yamanka Ino, and Nimaka Kiyashi, your new sensei is Asuma." Iruka-sensei ended. My heart was fighting to either jump for joy, or stop beating. I got put with Choji-kun! Yay! But I was also going to be with Shika-kun, my trying-to-ignore-crush! Whats gonna happen?

~~Shika's POV~~

Iruka-sensei just threw another piece of chalk at me. 'Sometimes he's such a drag! Always waking me up, I was having such a good dream too.' I thought as I glanced around the room; my gaze resting upon Kiya-chan. Her real name is Nimaka Kiyashi, but Kiya-chan was my nickname for her, but I would never call her it to her face, or anyone elses. Except maybe Choji, him being my best friend and all. I was still looking at her, and she was staring back! I tried to slowly turn away without looking desperate to get out of her gaze. How embarassing, getting caught staring at her. I still don't understand why I'm so attracted to her, we couldn't be more different! But of course, as they say, oppisites tend to attract.
"-Nara Shikamaru, Choji, Ino, and Nimaka Kiyashi your new sensei is Asuma." Iruka sensei said. 'What?!' I thought. 'This is just to good to be true! I get to be with my best friend, Choji, AND my love, Kiya-chan!! But....If I can barely stand her looking at me, how am I gonna be on the same team as her?? What.A.Drag.' We were told that Asuma was going to meet us in this classroom after lunch. As soon as Iruka-sensei told us we could go to lunch Kiya-chan was gone. Oh well....
"Hey Choji! We eating lunch together?"

~~Your POV~~

After Iruka-sensei told us we were allowed to go to lunch I didn't waste any time getting out of there. I would have to go back there later, since that's where my first team meeting was going to be. I left my lunch in my locker{Do they have lockers?? now they do!^-^} and I was starving!! 'Hmm maybe I'll eat with Choji today!^-^' Little did I know that Shikamaru was going to be eating with him today also. I made it to my locker and threw my crap in it and grabbed the bento my mother made for me this morning. I grabbed it and made for the roof, where me and Choji usually eat.

~~Shika's POV~~

I was sitting on the roof with Choji, chowing down on my mom's home-cooking. She makes the best bento, but she gets to be very troublesome, with all her nagging. I only had one bento, while Choji had like 6 or 7, all BBQ. We were sitting in compainable silence (well as silent as you could get Choji eating BBQ), when we hear the roof door open and close. I lazily looked up, not really caring who it was, that is until I saw who it was.

"She's looking at her watch while the dj is spinning
This could be the end or its just the beginning
She's the kinda girl that I wanna know better
Reaching for her keys so I guess it's now or never
I wish that I was on the radio
I'd sing her favorite song she'd be front row at every show
This parties lame and now I'm running out of time
I've only got six minutes if I'm gunna make her mine"


She was beautiful, walking towards me and Choji, her hand above her head waving excitedly at us. She came over and plopped down inbetween me and Choji. I looked at her and felt my cheeks slowly turn pink.
~~Your POV~~
I walked up to the roof and saw Shika-kun and Choji-kun sitting and eating by the railing. I ran over waving at them and taking a seat between them so we made a triangle.
"Hey guys! What's up?" I asked happily opening my bento and taking a bite.
"MMmfffpgphphp" Was all Choji could manage as he began to chow-down on like his 5 bento.
"Not much." Shikamaru said looking up at the clouds. 'Tipical{sp?} Shika.' I thought. I was eating my bento and became fairly bored. The guys didn't do much, they just sat quietly and ate. Boring. I looked over at Shika-kun and saw he was leaning against the railing, slowly chewing and gazing at the clouds. Then, I changed my view over to Choji-kun. He was already on his last BBQ bento! How does he eat so fast?! I stared at him in shock as he finished it off.
"Well, I'm done." He said with a mushroom-sigh. He looked up at the sun. "Wow guys, we only have, like, 6 or 7 minutes to get back." He stood up and stretched.
"Um... you go ahead Choji-kun, I'm gonna stay here and finish my lunch mmmkay?" I asked him. He looked at me surprised.
"You guys aren't done yet??" Me and Shika-Kun sweat-dropped.
"We can't all eat as fast as you can. -_-'." I said. He merely shrugged and walked off. Leaving me and Shikamru alone. For about 6 minutes. Alone. With Shikamaru. I was trying to figure out why I cared so much that I was going to be alone with him, feeling my cheeks flush slightly. 'Huh, guess I do have a small crush on him. But only a small one....Right?' I thought as I turned to see him staring right at me. I felt my cheeks heat up and I quickly turned away. 'Okay, maybe a big crush but don't yell at me!'

~~Shika's POV~~
"One minute and the earth begins to shake
Two minutes and my hearts begins to break
Another minute and she makes me feel brand new
That's just three minutes with you
Four minutes and she's everything I see
Five minutes and that were I wanna be
Another minute everything feels so new
I need six minutes with you"
"Hey, Kiya-chan-" I slapped my hand over my mouth when I realized what i had just called her. 'Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!' I screamed at myself, feeling my cheeks heat up slightly....okay maybe alot. I looked over to see her reaction and noticed she wasn't even paying attention. She was gazing off in the distance with her chopsticks hanging out of her mouth. Did she even hear me?! "Kiya-chan?" I asked cautiously leaning towards her; trying to ignore the fact that my face was burning and my heart was going 3 times it's normal rate. I poked her in the side and whispered her name again. This time she jumped and whipped her head to face me, a faint blush painted across her face.
"Oh em gee!! Shika-kun you scared the jeezies out of me!" She yelled. Well now that I have-Wait! What did she just call me!? Shika-kun?! I looked at her and noticed she was looking down at the ground, face fairly red. She must have not meant to say that. I chuckled and my blush left.
"Are you embarassed Kiyashi-chan?" I asked, being careful to make sure I used her real name and not my nickname for her. She nodded her head relctantly. Okay, this is gonna be was to easy..... "Kiya-chan" I whispered as smoothly as I could, "Look at me." She shook her head 'no'. "Why not?" I whined quietly, being patient. She shrugged. I couldn't think of anything but her right now, nothing else mattered. Toying with her was fun, she showed that well. Her face was getting redder and she was trying to hide it. I reached out and grabbed her chin, slowly, ever so slowly, lifted it up to face me. She was looking everywhere but me. "Why are you so embarassed?" I teased, slowly moving forward, but so slow it didn't even look like I ws moving. She began wiggling in my grasp, which actualky kinda iritated me.
"Shikamaru-kun, wh-what are you doing?" She asked, still not looking at me.
"You didn't answer me."
"W-what was the q-question again?"
"Why are you so embarassed?"
"I-I'm not!" Defensive.
"Your a horrible liar." She sighed and mumbled something. I smirked.
"Sometimes I feel like the catcher in the rye
Sometimes I wish that I could catch her eye

~~Your POV~~

Shikamaru was holding my chin, forcing me to face him. I wasn't allowing my eyes to look into his, even though I wanted to so badly. I knew tht if I did he would know everything.
"Why are you so embarassed?" He asked, I noticed he was slightly closer to me then before, I looked down at our forgotten bentos.
"Shikamaru-kun, wh-what are you doing?" I managed to get out.
"You didn't answer me." He stated, I noticed again he had moved closer to me, making my face darker. I realized I had totally forgotton what Shikamaru had asked me.
"W-what was the q-question?" I asked, stuttering again. Damn it.
"Why are you so embarassed?"
"I-I'm not!"
"You a horrible liar." I sighed, I know I am. There was no way out of it; might as well give up. I quietly mumbled "I like you." under my breath. I could feel him smirking.
"What was that?" He asked, I noticed that, once again, he was closer to me then before.
"I like you." I said a little louder.
"Didn't quite catch that." What. A. Jerk! He knew exactly what I said!
"I like you okay!?" I said, fairly loud, but not yelling.
"Yes, it is okay." I was fairly confused, what was ok? I looked up into his eyes. Big mistake. He was so close to me now, I hadn't even realized it! Our noses were almost touching. I could feel my eyes closing and I saw him doing the same. Then I felt a warm pressure on my lips. It was to good to be true! Me and Shika were kissing! Suddenly, and much to my disappointment, he pulled away.
"Kiya-chan, I hope you dont mind the nickname, will you like to go out with me?" He asked me. I jumped on him and tackled him to the ground.
"Of course I will! And I don't mind the nickname,but if you call me Kiya-chan then I'm gonna call you Shika-kun; deal?" He chuckled.
"Deal." Then, of course, Choji had to ruin it.
"YOU GUYS! HEY, YOUR LATE!" He yelled walking onto the roof. I quickly jumped off my new boyfriend. "You didn't even finish your lunch." He stated, disappointed at us. Asuma-sensei and Ino-chan were behind him. Once he had us all settled down and listening, he began explain about what it means to bea genin. I smiled, perfectly content on being right there; next to Shika and holding his hand. Couldn't be happier.
