Hit it! Hit it hit it! I thought. Naruto's kunai soared through the air, shooting straight at Zabuza's face. He pulled his hand out of the prison to dodge the kunai and I let out a loud cheer.
"Yes!" I yelled, jumping up and down. I took a couple of steps forward before jerking to a halt. Zabuza's glare was directed straight at me.
"You planed this didn't you, onna?" He snapped. I gulped and took a small step back. He raised the shuriken up, preparing to throw it at me. "You'll pay for that!" He roared, and started to throw it.
I bring my hands up to my face as if to protect myself. I didnt know what else I could do
Clink!
I looked up at the clink of metal on metal to see that Kakashi had backhanded the shuriken and saved me from an untimely death at the hands of Zabuza.
"Your opponent is me now Zabuza," Kakashi said. He looked up, his white hair clinging to his face. My breath caught in my throat at the look he gave Zabuza. "You will not hurt my team any longer."
"Kakashi-sensei!" Sakura gasped. I let my arms fall to my sides and I fell to my knees on the ground. I narrowly escaped death for the second time And if it wasnt for Kakashi again I would be dead.
"Thank Kami..." I muttered, clutching my stomach. The adrenaline had worn off and my stomach was throbbing now.
"Aira, your plan was impressive," Kakashi told me.
"Actually the part about the shuriken, I had no idea what they were planning. I told Sasuke and Naruto to detach Zabuza's arm while I distracted the clone. It worked better than I thought too. Good job, Naruto-san!" I gasped, smiling painfully at him.
"Naruto, huh? Well that was good thinking Naruto," Kakashi said. I fell into a coughing fit and blood fell into my hand.
"Aira!" Sasuke said.
"Aira-chan!" Sakura cried. She rushed over to me, but I waved her away.
"I'm fine! Don't worry about me! Zabuza's still alive remember? Protect him!" I said, shoving Sakura and Sasuke away with my un-bloodied hand and pulled out some medicine shakily. I nearly dropped it twice before Sasuke snatched it from me and opened it. I nodded in thanks and drank the foul tasting liquid.
"Ugh... Gross," I muttered, wiping my mouth.
"Well its better than you dying of blood loss or internal bleeding," Sasuke said before walking off. I nodded and stood up, spitting blood from my mouth. I watched as Kakashi hit the large shuriken away and him and Zabuza jumped back.
"Naruto! If you cant get out of the water or grab hold of something!" I yelled, immediately sensing a strong attack coming. Zabuza started to use many hand signs, and Kakashi matched them easily, thanks to the Sharingan. I follow them easily, and memorized every one and the chanting at the same time. Sasuke noticed this and watched me for a second, hardly missing the calculating gleam in my eyes.
"Tori!" They said at once. "Suiton Suiryuudan no Jutsu!" (Water Element: Water Dragon Bullet) I watched with wide eyes as two dragons slowly formed out of the water and twirled together.
"Look out!" I yelled. I braced myself as a large flood pushed it's way past Sasuke, Sakura, Tazuna, and I, nearly knocking us over. It came up to nearly Sakura and Sasuke's mouths, and I grabbed hold of the two of them to make sure the current won't sweep them away. When it died down I watched with wide eyes as the two dragons battled each other, sending torrents of water to pour back into the ocean. Zabuza rushed Kakashi, who blocked his huge sword with a kunai. Without thinking I ran to his side, holding up another kunai and helped Kakashi fend Zabuza off.
"Aira!" Kakashi said as we shove him off together.
"Kakashi I want this guy beat, and it's not helping if your standing here fending off his meat cleaver! I'm tired, coughing up blood, and my medicine is nearly gone because of this bastard! He needs to die!" I snapped. Kakashi sighed, picked me up, and threw me back onto dry land, where Sasuke was waiting to catch me.
"Keep her there!" Kakashi snapped, fending off Zabuza again. I growled and tried to get free, but my limbs became heavy and I began to get to tired to struggle. Sakura walked over and looped one of my arms over her shoulder while Sasuke did the same and pretty much drug me back and let me fall in front of Tazuna.
"Damn him..." I growled in the dirt, sitting up gently.
Sasuke stood behind me so I could lean against his legs, since mine weren't going to let me stand any time soon. I had Sakura sitting on my right, helping me look for my muscle relaxant. Mine were so tense they wouldn't work right.
"That's it Sakura. Only a little bit, though. If you get too much on your fingers they'll go numb." I quickly took the tube and quickly used it on my arms and legs. "Thanks Sakura. I can feel my arms now," I told her. She nodded and stood back up in front of Tazuna.
Then my eye twitches.
"Why are they running in circles...?" I asked, watching them. Then it hit me when Zabuza did the hand sign of the Mist Concealment Jutsu. "He's copying Zabuza perfectly..." I muttered.
"What your doing is copying, not the original," Zabuza said.
"You can't beat me, you monkey," Kakashi said at the same time Zabuza did. Zabuza's eyes grew wide.
"Ill make it so you don't open that copycat mouth of your again!" Zabuza snapped, forming hand signs. Behind Kakashi, another Zabuza materialized, and judging by Zabuza's reaction he didn't create it.
"Suiton Daibakufu no Jutsu!" (Water Element: Grand Waterfall!) Kakashi said. A large ball of water formed and flew at Zabuza.
"Guys I have a bad feeling about this..." I muttered, climbing to my feet. As soon as I did water tore through the forest past us, and we brought our hands up to shield our eyes from the stinging salt water.
Zabuza was thrown into a tree just as the current started to sweep him away. Kakashi threw four kunai, each of which pierce into the skin of each limb, binding Zabuza to the tree. Zabuza groaned in pain as Kakashi landed on the branch above Zabuza's head.
Kakashi said something inaudible to me because I'm too busy looking for Naruto, who was still in the water when Kakashi used his technique.
"Naruto! Naruto-san where are you?" I called. I looked around for him, but the water stungmy eyes, causing them to blur. When the water receded I let out a slight sigh when I saw Naruto hanging onto a small sapling, but alive and safe. I turned my attention back to Zabuza but just as I do, two senbon pierce his neck. I looked around for who threw them and see a boy standing in a tree with a strange mask on. He giggled.
"It was true. He did die," He said with humor in his voice. Kakashi jumped down from the tree and looked for a pulse, but found none. I walked over and he looked up at me expectantly, but I couldn't even find one.
"The boy's right Kakashi. He's dead..." I said, but I don't try to hide my curiosity. "Or at least, I can't find a pulse..."
"I can assure you that he's dead," The boy said. I jumped to my feet, glaring at him. He had landed next to me without me hearing him, or sensing his chakra. I could sense him smiling, even if I couldn't see his face.
"By that mask, you must be a hunter-nin from the Village Hidden in the Mist," Kakashi muttered.
"You are very well informed."
"Hunter-nin!" Naruto said. I conked him on the back of the head.
"He's a good guy, Naruto. Calm down," I said.
"You should have learned that in the academy! Even Aira knows and she didn't even go to the academy!" Sakura said hopelessly.
"How did you know?" Sasuke asked.
"I didn't. He killed Zabuza, so I assumed he was a good guy." I shrugged. Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto fell over, twitching.
"What do you mean you don't know?!" Sakura asked.
"Like you said, I never went to an academy. I was lucky to get my hitai-ate my first week in Kohona," I said. I turned my attention away from the fuming Sakura to Kakashi and the boy again. I moved to stand next to Kakashi and leaned on my tip toes to whisper in his ear.
"I don't trust him Kakashi. He seems to be too strong for a kid..." I whispered. Kakashi shook his head to dismiss it, but said nothing.
"Who the hell are you?" Naruto yelled at him.
"Naruto he isn't an enemy."
"That's not what I mean! How can a kid, no different from us, kill Zabuza so easily?!" Naruto yelled.
"Naruto I know it's hard to believe, but it's real," Kakashi said. Kakashi laid a hand heavily on Naruto's head. "In this world, there are kids that are younger than you... And stronger than me." I looked at Kakashi warily, afraid that the strain from the fight may make him pass out. The boy kneeled next to Zabuza and picked him up.
"Your fight ends here for now," He said. He turned his attention to me. "And he won't hurt you anymore." My heart stopped for a fraction of a second.
He couldn't know... Could he? I thought. I let my face and eyes betray nothing, when inside I was trembling.
"If you'll excuse me," He said, and him and Zabuza disappeared in a flurry of leaves. I move to Kakashi's side quickly as he pulled down his hitai-ate.
"Are you hurt, Kakashi?" I asked shakily. He shakes his head.
"What about you?"
"I'm not worried about myself right now, Kakashi. I'm worried about you, and the fact youre lying to me," I snapped. I turned to Naruto, who was standing over the spot where the boy disappeared and began to punch it.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" He cursed. I ran to him and grabbed him around the waist.
"Naruto stop!" I said.
"Things like this happen when youre a ninja, Naruto," Kakashi said. "If you don't like it, make it up next time." He tapped my shoulder, telling me to let go. I pulled away from Naruto and stood up next to Kakashi. "Our mission isn't over yet. We still need to take Tazuna-san to his house."
Rest in results
Tazuna laughed. "Sorry about that everyone! Just rest at my house!" He said, tipping his hat slightly.
"Alright! Let's go then! And cheer up everyone!" Kakashi said. I sighed and walked beside him as Naruto slowly climbed to his feet and followed along with everyone else.
Kakashi halted, his eye wide. I rushed in front of him and caught him as he fell, causing him to knock me over so he landed on me.
"What?! What happened Aira-chan?" Sakura asked. I smiled kindly as I sat up, cradling Kakashi's head in my lap.
"The strain from the Sharingan wore him out. He only passed out, Sakura. He'll be ok if we get him to a bed soon, and if I can fix up his wounds," I said quietly, fatigue setting in on me as well.
"Aira-chan? What's wrong?" Sakura asked.
"I'm just tired... All this fighting has taken its toll on me as well. Come on. Let's get to Tazuna-san's house so we can get a decent meal and rest," I said. Sasuke and Naruto picked up Kakashi, while Sakura rushed over to me and let me lean on her as we made our way to Tazuna's home.
