When I woke up Saturday morning I had a text message from Alex.


Hey, I am unable to get away from the family today. They want to have "Quality Time" so just for today I am under house arrest. I'll call you tonight. I love you.

I texted him back;

Okay, I'll just spend the day with my grandma; I know that she misses me. I'll be waiting for your call, miss you already. I'll see you tomorrow. I Love you too.

I sent it then I took a shower. I wrapped my arm with a plastic bag too keep the cast from getting wet. Taking a shower with only one hand was hard, but I dealt with it. When I finished up I went into the living room and I found my grandma watching one of he soap's.

"Hey Grandma." I sat down next to her.


"How are you feeling this morning Joanna?"

"Great, hey grandma want to do something today or are you busy?" She smiled at my words.

"I am never busy when you are up to hanging out with little old me, grab your jacket we'll do something fun" I ran into my room, I had Alex's sweater from the last night and I put that on and I grabbed my cell and put it in mu pocket. My grandma was waiting for me at the door.

"What do you say to lunch then a movie?" we walked out the door and into her car, I was a little uneasy getting in but I rolled down the window and I let the air hit my face as we drove and it calmed my nerves.


I can honestly say that I have the coolest grandma alive. She picked the movie, a movie that I thought grandma's would never want to see, she picked to see Shutter. It was great, she was laughing with me when the people died. How many of you can say that your grandma laughed with you when people were dying on the screen.

It was almost five pm when we got home, she ordered pizza for dinner because neither of us felt like cooking. We sat around and watch TV until eight then she retired to bed. I made my way to my room and I took out my cell, I had one new text message.


Okay babe, I hope that you have fun. I miss you too.

I was getting ready to text him back when he called my cell, I answered it after the first ring.

"Hey" I spoke into the phone.

"Hey babe, how was the day with your grandma?" I told him about my day and he started to laugh when I told him about what happened in theaters.

"How was your day? What did they have you do?"
"Well, they had me help them clean the house then we watched Delta Farce. That was it." I laughed, I couldn't imagine him cleaning. He let out a light chuckle.

"What are you doing right now?"

"Just hanging out in my room and talking to you."

"Mind if I come over for a bit?" I thought about my grandma, she was asleep.

"My grandma is asleep. . ." I started.

"We can hang out of the porch, I just really want to see you right now, and I've been away from you too long." I smiled.

"Ok, I'll meet you on the porch."

"Love you see you soon."

"Love you too" I hung up the phone and I grabbed his sweater once more and I pulled it on, even though I had no makeup on I felt no need to get pretty for him, he has told me before that I dont need makeup so I am listening to him. I waited in the living room until I heard a car stop in front of my house; I walked out the front door and I seen Alex walking up the steps. In three quick strides he was in front of me with his arms around me hugging me and kissing the top of my head.

He brought me into the front lawn and we laid down looking up into the starts.

"Jo-jo, have you ever thought about how long we would be together?" this caught me off guard. I was a little surprised, was he talking about breaking up, I started to pull away from him but he pulled me back to him, and my head rested on his chest.

"No, not like that babe, because I can't see me a day with out you." This made me smile.

"Either can I ---" he pulled my face to his and planted a kiss on my lips.

"I know that it's a bit early, it's only been a month of us dating, but I know that I am head over heal in love with you, for years I have been."

"I've loved you since I first met you" I whispered to him

"Jo-jo, I lied to you today, my family didn't keep me under house arrest. I was getting you something." He pulled away and sat up and dug into his pocket.

"Like I said, this is a bit early, but I just can't wait any longer." He smiled at me.


Rest in Results.
"Joanna Seels," he took me hand in his. "I can't see one day with out you in my life, will you marry me." I felt the tears sliding off my face. I couldn't talk so I just nodded my head, I felt something cool slide onto my ring finger and I looked down, under the moon light I seen a small diamond glittering. I launched myself at him and started kissing him with enthusiasm and he was kissing me back, a smile was on both our faces as we kissed.


I pulled away to catch my breath, tears were still on my face, I felt his thumb run over my cheeks to get rid of them.

"What am I going to tell my grandma?" I whispered, scared for her reaction.

"She already knows I told her about it while you were in the hospital, I got your ring size when you were asleep." I closed my eyes and I rested my head on his chest and I listened to his heart beat. He lifted my face to his once more.

"I love you so much, but I have to go, I will be your wake up call." We sat up and we kissed once more. He walked me to the door where we embraced for a few moments then let go.

"Love you, see you tomorrow."

"I love you too, night." I stood on my toes so I could give him a good night kiss, I walked inside but I waited at the door and watched him drive down the street until I closed it and I ran into my room. Their, I made the phone calls to my friends.
