"Ron you are so annoying!" Veronica said as she walked beside her friends, Ron and Harry. Ron smirked at her and poked her arm lightly.
"I'm not annoying." he said quietly. Veronica smirked lightly and continued to walk towards the dungeons for potions class. They heard hurried footsteps behind them and they turned to see Hermione running to catch up. They slowed down and she finally caught up.
"Hey Hermione, how was Muggle Studies?" Veronica asked, not really caring, but deciding to be nice anyway.
"Oh it was very interesting, we learned that..." and so on and so forth. 'I should've seen this coming.' Veronica thought to herself as she tuned out Hermione's voice and walked down a staircase, hopped over a trick stair, and walked down the hallway leading to Professor Snape's dungeon. When she reached the door, Veronica swung it opened and walked into the classroom. As usual when she walked into a room, all the boys' heads turned. She was so used to it now that she hardly even noticed it.
She walked over to the Back row of four seats where she, Ron, Harry, and Hermione always sat. Her three friends followed her and sat down next to her, chatting about classes and other random stuff. About five minutes later the door banged open and Professor Snape swept into the classroom, black robs billowing behind him. He stopped at the front of the class and smiled slightly at Malfoy. Veronica rolled her eyes and looked back at her professor. When she looked at him she saw that he was looking at her with a slight smirk. She knew what was coming next.
"Miss Mandow, please move your things up next to... Mr.Malfoy." he said in his low voice. Veronica sighed and grumbled before collecting her stuff and nodding at her friends before walking away. Snape did this to her almost everyday and she was very used to it by now. She knew that he hated her almost as much as he hated her friend, Harry. Sighing again, Veronica began to set up all her stuff next to Malfoy, who she had actually started to come on better terms with since she always had to sit next to him. Snape put the directions up on the board for the potion they were making, the sleeping draught. Veronica got all the ingredients and lit the fire as she began to make her potion.
"So how ya doing V?" she heard Malfoy say in his slow drawl.
"Fine. You?" she asked, not even looking up from her potion.
"I'm good thanks." he said and she could hear the smirk in his voice. She rolled her eyes and added some more ingredients and began to stir slowly clockwise.
"That's good." she said, again without taking her eyes off her potion. She heard him chuckle slightly and for the rest of the class they talked quietly and did their work.
At the end of class, Snape asked them all to put some of their potion in a vial and put their names on it. Veronica did as she was told and brought the potion up to her professor's desk, before cleaning up the rest of the potion and her materials. Once everything was cleaned up she looked at the back of the class to see that her friends had left without her. 'Great friends,' she thought as she walked out of the classroom by herself. She began to walk down the hallway when she heard someone call out to her.
"V! V wait!" Draco called as he walked to catch up with her. She turned and looked at him, waiting for him to pick up his pace, but he continued to walk towards her in that slow, proud manner. When he finally reached her, she huffed and turned and started walking again with him beside her.
"Why do you have to be such a jerk?" she asked as she looked straight ahead. He chuckled lightly and slipped something into her robe pocket, causing her to stop walking and look at him. He still had his hand in her pocket.
"Look at it after dinner." he whispered with a grin before walking away and leaving her confused. Veronica reached her hand into her pocket and gripped the piece of parchment. 'What could he have written?' she asked herself as she walked to the Great Hall for dinner.
She slid onto the bench next to Ron and Harry and put a few things on her plate. She was way too distracted to have an appetite. She lifted her head slightly and looked over at the Slytherin table. Her eyes quickly found the blonde boy she was looking for and when he looked up his eyes locked on hers. He winked and then looked back down at his plate, making Veronica blush slightly.
"Earth to Veronica!" Ron said as he waved his hand in front of her face. She looked over at him.
"What?" she asked as she ate a fork full of potatoe.
"You haven't said a word since you came in." Harry pointed out as he too put a fork full of potatoe into his mouth. Veronica sighed.
"I'm just thinking about stuff." she said as she washed down her food with a goblet of pumpkin juice. Ron's eyes suddenly became filled with curiousity and Veronica mentally slapped herself for saying anything.
"What stuff?" he asked as he leaned forward to look at her. She poked him in the head and looked at him.
"That is none of your business." she said and turned back to her almost empty plate.
"Oh come on tell us!" Ron whined as he shoved more food into his mouth. Veronica frowned at the amount of food in his mouth and turned away disgusted. She finished the rest of her dinner quickly.
"No." she said as she got up out of her seat and walked out of the Great Hall. As soon as she was out, she ran up the stairs to the portrait hole and gave the password. She then ran through the common room and up to her empty dorm, throwing her book bag onto her bed. She quickly reached into her pocket and pulled out the note from Draco.
V,
Meet me tonight in the seventh floor corridor at 10. There's something I need to tell. It's really important.
~Draco
Veronica smiled and sat back on her bed. She already knew that even if she didn't want to go, although she did, that she would go anyway. She also knew that over the last couple of weeks she had grown an affection for the Malfoy boy, even if she didn't want to admit it. She got out her homework and began to do it but after a half hour of reading the same sentence over and over again she decided to put her pajamas on and lay in bed until it was time to go meet Draco. She heard the four girls from her dormitory come in and listened as they talked. By 9:30 they were all asleep and Veronica got up quietly and snuck out of the door and down the stairs to the common room. She made her way across the cozy room and out the portait hole.
Her bare feet made very little sound on the cold floor as she made her way up to the seventh floor. She used her wand to direct her way and several times she had to take the long way in order to avoid a ghost or Mr. Filch and his cat. When she reached the seventh floor she walked along the corridor and suddenly came upon a door she didn't remember ever seeing. She was standing there studying it when it creaked open to reveal a very familiar blonde.
"So you came." Malfoy whispered as he moved towards her slightly. She nodded.
"So what did you want?" she asked as she moved a little closer to him, drawn by his eyes. He smirked slightly. When she reached him, he reached out and rested his hands on her hips. He looked into her eyes and then his smirk widened.
"I've wanted you for so long." he whispered as he brought their lips together smoothly and pulled her into the room, shutting the door behind him.
