Chapter 10
I had finally managed to get back to my life. It had been a little over a week since the club incident and I was working at the merch booth again. Madi never let me out of her sight anymore. She was being a little over protective, but hey I couldn't blame her. I was doing a lot better with the whole happy thing. I could at least function, so that was a step in the right direction.
"Hey" a voice interrupted my thoughts, startling me.
"Hi" I smiled when I saw who it was.
"So I was thinking" Ryan began hesitantly.
"Yeah?" I smiled encouragingly so that he would continue.
"I was thinking that maybe, that is if you're up for it, if you wanted to maybe go out tonight."
"You mean a date?" I asked
"Yeah"
"Definitely." He smiled wider than I than I've ever seen him smile.
"Well the concert is going to start soon, I'll meet you at your bus at 11 o'clock?"
"You can count on it"
Ryan walked towards back stage and I made my way back behind the counter of the merch booth that Madi and I were in charge of.
"What was that all about?" Madi questioned under her breath.
"Ryan and I have a date tonight" I replied, without even breaking my smile.
"AHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, THATS SO GREAT!!!!!" Madi
squealed with excitement. I grinned back in reply. This was going to be Ryan and I's first date. Now I know what you're thinking, how could we have been going out for over a month and never have had a date? To tell you the truth, I haven't been ready. I needed time to get over what happened, both at the club and not at the club. Not to mention, Ryan wanted our first date to be perfect. The best way to do that, was to wait for me to finally be ready, and I was.
"Shhh, you're scaring the fans." I murmured, trying to get her to calm down. It wasn't working. She was way too excited.
"But Leah, this is HUGE!"
"I know that, but I also know that everyone is looking at us really weird, and its kind of creepy."
She laughed at this and, to my relief, turned and started handing out t-shirts to the fans as they paid.
3 hours later:
I had just gotten done with the last of the fans, demanding their precious hoodies. Madi and I were making our way back to the buses and I just couldn't seem to control myself. I had a date, with Ryan. Ryan. Just saying his name made me get butterflies. As Madi talked away next to me about what I should wear, what my hair should look like, etc. I just kept saying his name over and over in my head. Ryan.
"Hello, earth to Leah!"
"What?" I had obviously zoned out.
"We're here. Duh." She stood holding the bus door open
"After you" she bowed.
"Ha ha, very funny" I smirked.
We got inside and I practically ran to the bunks and threw my suitcase open. I began to dig until I found the perfect outfit for tonight.
I was going for a theme tonight. I put on blue eyeliner and silver shadow. My lipstick however was going to be different. It was a deep red and so where my nails. I liked the contrast with the blue I was wearing. Madi did my hair. She put it up and then looped the pieces of hair to form a sort of bun. It was gorgeous. When Ryan arrived, I was ready.
I walked out into the main part of the bus and spun around. I saw his eyes widen.
"You look absolutely amazing." He half whispered.
I blushed "Thanks." I managed to get out. To say I was shy, was a very big understatement.
He took my hand and led me out of the bus and to a waiting car. I glanced back at Madi and she gave me a thumbs up. This night was going to be wonderful.
1 am:
We pulled up in the car and Ryan got out and walked me the rest of the way to the bus. The night had been the best night I could have ever asked for.
"Good night" I said as I turned to Face Ryan. He looked at me for a moment as if considering something.
"Good night" he replied finally. I started to open the door when, all of a sudden, I felt Ryan grab my elbow and slowly turn me around. He pulled me to him and our faces came close, very close.
"Leah" I heard a stern voice speak behind me. I knew it was Madi.
I sighed and Ryan let me go with a tentative smile.
"Good night" he said for the second time and turned and made his way to the Panic bus.
"Good night" I whispered to myself.
